And please don’t get caught up in the disparaging narrative about ‘South St. Pete.’ There are communities south of downtown that are also quite family friendly and well maintained. Homes can range in price from $200K to $500K+ ranch styles, to million dollar estates. And the area is predominately diverse to boot!

Hello! I think West St Pete (west of US 19), and South East St. Pete (roughly east of 4th St S to the Bay at 22nd Ave S, Ean’s south to the Bay) are ripe with real estate opportunities for singles, couples, and families.

@@haydonyoungmusic Im 16 feet above see level. The highest point in St. Pete is 66 feet. Out of the 111,000 households in St. Pete, 31,208 are in flood zones. So, yes although it does feel like St. Pete is covered in flood zones, one 1/3rd is at risk. This has always been the case. In the early 50's, shore acres, which is known for its flooding, was a hot spot for floods. The only thing has changed is social media has made it worse.

@@Livinitupintampabayflorida Ok. That's how it is today. But it won't be long. We live near Destin 35 feet up on a bayou. Hurricane Opal had 15 foot surge. Got another property in Fort Walton. Just got hit with mandatory flood. Was not needed ever before now.

by 2027, every home in Florida will need flood insurance. This will all depend on where your home is located. Houses in no flood zones will be around $200 a year. What is your flood insurance for the year now?@@haydonyoungmusic
