I agree completely. The alcohol makes the guests feel comfortable but to give the alcohol all of the credit is doing Mr. Norton a great disservice. He is an empathetic listener and adept at making the guests the "star" of the show. I prefer him to all other talk show hosts; he's not too chatty after his monologue and uses his wit, charm, humor, and research of couchworthy topics from the guests' lives to create an entertaining show.

I always thought it looked like a dreadfully uncomfortable sofa...especially for women trying to sit on it in a dress and heels!

Norton works so well compared to American talk shows because he allows entertainers to be themselves and actually entertain. No-one is on there mindlessly shilling for their latest movie or TV show like on Fallon or O'Brien, etc. Many of today's celebrities are actually genuinely talented but there is no longer a venue for them to be themselves and show their true personalities and quirks aside from Graham's show.

I feel like what you said can be the case for fallon IF they mesh well together, but also of course when they play the games. As with conan, i guess you're right, never really thought about that- unless they have comedians on the show. but the difference with conan is that he himself IS the entertainment. hes a good personality

I love Graham Norton. His show is so laid back and has such a free spirited atmosphere. I like the Jimmy's but Grahams the best, hands down.

i saw harry buried underneath other people's faces in the thumbnail, i clicked. also, graham is the only host i like.

Ever since I stumbled across a video of Graham's show on KZread, my life changed. I couldn't stand most talk shows, but I literally can't get enough of this one. And often, he'll have guests that I either don't recognize or I normally wouldn't care to listen to, but I *always* watch his episodes. I think, at this point, I've seen every single one.

No other talk show host can get everyone to be having as much fun on the show
