My favorite riff for this year is definitely the a riff from "Iconoclast" by Decapitated (the one during the verses). So much groove, tightness, simplicity and brutality.

The bridge riff in that song is much better in my opinion (the one before the bit with robb flynn). One of the standout riffs on that album for sure.

Not sure how nobody's said it but Fit For An Autopsy's "Oh What the Future Holds" album is full of insane riffs 🤘 they take the year for me

The sick, the dying and the dead by Megadeth. The riff at the end before the solo is my riff of the year

i love the clarity of guitars in your mixs, no matters if is low or high tune, ever is perfectily power and clear, I know that your playability influences, but a great job of equalization and mixing is behind that wonderful tone that your mixes have, could you show or talk, give tips on the process please teacher ?

Always great watching you play, Pete! I dig the Spirit Box and Lamb of God riffs. My favorite riff of the year was the bridge for Parkway Drive's The Greatest Fear. Such heaviness!

The main riff from Cardinal Red by Monuments was my favorite this year. In Stasis is a fantastic album overall and has become one of my all time favorites.

Bleed from Within is one of the best out there at the moment. Last and current album are just works of art. Unbelievable they are still so unknown and small. Maybe it's better that way so we get to enjoy this pure form of art without too many influences that inevitably come with more fame and publicity.

Sylosis definitely had the gnarliest riff 🤙

Seriously best riff of the year was Night Stalkers from Megadeth album.

Good year for metal & riffs for sure. Here's my top 5 for this year: - Bleed From Within - I Am Damnation - Carpenter Brut - Straight Outta Hell - Motionless in White - Cyberhex - Haunted Shores - Nocturnal Hours - First of October - Spooky Time

A riff i always come back to from this year is ''Gaia'' by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

Sylosis always take top spot for me

I loved the riff in Spite’s Caved In, which would always get me moving. But also BfW’s album is full of amazing riffs, FFAA as well. Too many to choose from.

Arch Enemy is has some great riffs at "Deceiver Deceiver" or "House of Mirrors" last year

Bleed From Within - Levitate? Similar THREAT SIGNAL - Through My Eyes. Nice!

And Lamb of God in the end. It deserves like I think. Best 2022 album IMHO. Guys are sick!

The opening riff from "On Broken Glass" by Malevolence is probably my favorite riff from this year

I really like the MOOER guitar. Is it easy to tune though? I have the GE 100 effects processor. It's a pretty good little thing. Probably wouldn't need it so much with this guitar.

It stays in tune perfectly fine, but the tuning pegs are stiff to turn.

What program did you use to lower the tuning of your guitar?

How much tweaking did you have to do with the pitch shifter? It sounds incredible.

I used the guitars normal pickups (not using the built in modelling at all) instead for those and pitched it down using Neural DSP Archetype Rabea. The Metallica, Sylosis and LOG riffs are all using the built in FX/Modelling and the Spiritbox and Bleed From Within riffs are normal pickups that are then pitched down in using Archetype Rabea :)

I like that Spiritbox riff (very Korn-like and creative), but my two favourite riffs of the year both happen to be from two underground extreme metal bands that base their sounds off of older, very controversial groups. The first is the opening riff off of Grenadier's "Atrocity Cycle", the opening song from their debut album Trumpets Blare In Blazing Glory. It is fast, mean, aggressive and quite melodic and catchy! The controversial band that they base their sound off of is Arghoslent, an incredibly racist group from the US (Grenadier is Canadian and not racist, by comparison). Make of that info what you will. The second riff that floored me this year is the riff at the 3:15 mark of the title track of Grave Pilgrim's EP Molten Hands Reach West. Such power and ferocity and quickness! Grave Pilgrim is a raw black metal band from Oregon whose style of dirty Americana-inspired black metal has been compared to the ever-controversial French black metal band Peste Noire. Again, as with the first one, MAKE OF THAT INFO WHAT YOU WILL.

Honestly my favorite riff of the year is the main riff from Doomswitch of the bridge riff from the same song. Jesus Make Them Suffer just know how to groove.

That Spirirtbox riff has a Korn type vibe.

I love Slipknot but honestly, I didn’t really like anything I heard from their most recent album. I’m sure the next one will be great though :)

Decent list. But I wish people would stop saying lux aeterna is good, just cause it's Metallica.
