We got solar almost a year ago, and LOVE IT. We do some overnight boondocking, and lithium batteries have been wonderful. I highly recommend anyone thinking about it - to do it.

Nice solar setup. We will be getting our solar installed in July. We went with Battle Born because that’s what our installer is an expert in. I will say Enduro looks like a great company and product. We finally got our rig 2 weeks ago and are working on our upgrades.

We went with Enduro, 2, 300 amp batteries, not completely installed yet. No solar. I’ll be doing the victron inverter multiplus later this year. Harrison is an awesome guy. He helped us a lot, answering all of our questions. Can’t wait to test it out.

This is another wonderful video on how to install the solar and batteries to a RV! Looks like a great RV solar system, and glad to hear you went with the 1,100 watt system, so no need to tilt them! Back in 2000, I installed a pair of 120 watt solar panels, that cost $429 on sale back in that year! Now it is so much less expensive! Drawing 25 amps per hour (I also have a E-Meter) and having near 90 amps going towards the battery, you can charge and run the refrigerator at the same time. A smaller system would not work as well. 25 amps X 12 volts is near your old 300 watt panel capacity! So basically, your solar panel would not charge the battery at all while the refrigerator was running. I just bought 8 each 250 watt solar panels used in Portland Oregon, at $85 each! I plan to install them and a 48 volt inverter to run things in my house like a refrigerator and save about $30 a month on my electric bill. Total cost to me is about $1,200, so not actually going to save me much money, but will be something I want to do! For batteries, I plan to use lead acid golf cart battery, and fill them with water every couple of months. Whoever sold you AGM batteries, I hope they don't do that anymore! They do not last very long in a RV, and there is no way to refill them when the fluid is lost to the air. So they might last about 1-2 years. My golf cart battery when I was full timing lasted for 13 years! I will buy 8 each golf cart batteries at Costco for $110 each, and. store about 200 AH at 48 volts, or about 9,600 watts. Your pair of 200 Ah 12 volt batteries are about 2,400 watts each. If you where running 24 volts or 48 volts to your inverters, they would require much smaller battery wire size, and will have less voltage loss. With your 25 amp 12 volt load, your system seems to be sized perfectly! You could draw about 25 amps X 15 hours from your battery between charging the battery, so plenty of time for the sun to rise again! The 90 or so amps X 5 hours per day (on average) is 450 amp hours your can put back in a day, however your use will also be 25 amps X 8 hours while you are charging, so about 200 AH is used each day. I wonder how satisfied you are with the system now that it has been installed for 7 months! You might want to install another string of solar panels or not. MPPT controllers can take in up to 150 or 300 volts and put out the required 12 volts to charge your battery.

Great video. We are planning a solar install in October. We were torn between Battleborn and Renogy batteries until I saw your video and Rooted Off Grid video. We are more in-between you and Rooted Off Grid way of camping. Thank you for the review I will be getting 4 Enduro 300ah batteries when we start the install.

Thanks, I really enjoyed the video. We've been FT for 4 years now, and we've found we like to boondock most of the time. We don't have a residential fridge like you do. Instead, we run our RV fridge on propane rather than battery power. We have a 620-watt solar array mounted on the side of our MH so we can lift it to the correct angle for about 20-30% more output than flat, roof mounted panels (even more in the winter when the sun is low on the horizon), so it performs more like a flat mounted 800w array in real world use. We can clean them easily on the side of our MH and raise and lower them without crawling on the roof. We installed gas struts, so they virtually lift themselves - just unlatch them and up they go. There is a website we use that gives us the correct angle to lift them to, based on month and latitude for maximum production. I think that it was very smart that you added 1,100 watts of solar. Power is addictive. The more you have the more you'll find a use for. "You can never have too much solar" is absolutely right! The main reason we decided to put them on the side was of our RV was to leave the roof free for a much bigger array to power our entire RV, even have off grid air conditioning and heat powered by the sun too. Last month, we replaced our 2 well used lead acid golf cart batteries with a custom-made LiFePo-4 battery made from 8, 280ah prismatic cells. This makes a 12v 560ah bank that has over 5 times the usable Kwh of our old batteries and over 10 times the life. One of the main reasons we decided to go this route is that they fit perfectly under the steps of our motorhome, where our old GC-2 batteries used to reside, saving about 35 lbs too. Those 200ah Endura batteries are cool, but way too big to fit in the spot where a golf cart battery fits. We added a 330-amp (1,200a surge) Heltec BMS that is big enough to start our generator, to keep the cells balanced. We replaced our Progressive Dynamics 60a converter/charger with an 80a LiFePo-4 compatible one but were lucky that our MPPT charge controller could be reprogramed for LiFePo-4 chemistry, so we didn't have to replace it. We also added a Renogy DC-DC battery charger so we can charge it with our MH's alternator as well as our onboard generator. People often don't consider the cost of upgrading their converter, charge controller or getting a separate battery to battery charger for alternator charging. The battery itself (which has about 40% more capacity than your 2 Enduros) was only $1,364 but by the time you add a BMS and whatever chargers you need it might end up costing a whole lot more. Our complete solar system for including the battery, 620w array, mounting hardware, 50A MPPT charge controller, 80a converter, B-B charger, wiring, breakers, monitor, etc. totaled up to around $3,600, plus a lot of hours learning and building. But the freedom and independence it gives us FTers is well worth it.

Very impressed you didn't max everything out. Hope it works out. Hope to get some soon as well. Our 2022 GD Reflection came with one 165 W panel and one lead acid battery. It did come with a large Furrion 12v refrigerator/freezer and on demand water heater.

After being on the road for my first month and boondocking just 2-3 times I learned that the "new" marine battery in my "new" (2021, 22' TT "Max") just didn't hack it. I also discovered that my converter was not working (leads to battery at panel board read 12.6 V while connected to battery and ZERO when disconnected yet still on shore power). Used stand alone charger while on shore power & truck alternator while on the road. Ordered new CFCO WF-8955-AD-MBA converter (Amazon $80.09 - thanks to multiple 5% cashbacks!), Now just need to decide 100 or 200 MAH LI for my first upgrade.

What a great State Park in Havasu - we enjoyed our time there!

I just did something similar, the only difference is I built my setup to be portable and modular. All the hardware is mounted to the battery box. Bus bars allow modular capacity additions. So if you need to move it into a new camper or use it for emergency power for a house, I can easily do that. Each box is 200ah of capacity, 3 total for me. I can have a total of 4 battery's with my current bus bar setup. I used Thick silicon mats to mount the hardware on so that heat would not transfer to the box.

Enduro is basically the same as any other battery from topband. Most of these batteries all come from the same factory , people just slap their company name on it. I’ve been using Lifeblue for years from top band and these are a copy cat version without heaters or internal monitors. Literally looks identical with a different color lol but still better value than battleborns and sok

I would encourage you to add the additional batteries. You want to be heavy on the storage side. You can have all the panels you can but if you have no where to store the energy you collect the panels are useless. Be able to store all you collect. You're putting the energy in the bank in case you have a series of bad weather days. I have 470 watts of solar with 300 amp hr of Lithium. Don't take your lithium batteries down below 30%. They can take it but it will reduce their overall lifetime cycles.

Ok learned something!- Whooohooo I’m done for today! I didn’t know the existence of that doohickey device, the whatchamacallit thingy that can figure out how many watts another doohicky thing uses, now that’s a handy gizmo! Now pray this nice system all works when your not there, maybe point one of your cameras to the fridge when your gone, and just in case have a back up plan of someone who can get into your rig via say a door code for fridge content emergency evacuation or in case needing a cup of sugar, or a spare beer kinda thing, lol. 🍻

I have a E-Meter that I installed on my motorhome back in 1997, so it does not know anything about Wi-Fi - they did not happen back then. The E-Meter has a shunt on the battery, and measured exactly the amp hours going into and out of the battery pack.

We have two 300 Ah EnduroPower batteries and 1200 watts total solar panels. Two systems, one on our van and one on our Trailer.

Congratulations guys. I just self installed our 420ah lithium bank and 700watts of solar on the roof. Just like y’all, we only needed a system large enough to keep the residential refrigerator and coach 12vdc loads running long when we are at a harvest host, rest area, or parking lot. I’m interested in seeing how long y’all can stay disconnected. Regarding pricing, y’all are spot on with the costs! My self installed system above costed just a little over $5k complete. This was a great episode .. I’m sure it will help many of your followers!

Well, I have to admit, I love your video's, but life gets in the way sometimes, so I'm back watching again! Immediately watching your video's, takes me back to one of your first video's, showing your Himiway e-bikes, then another, riding them in....I believe it was Glacier National Park, before all the cars where allowed on the roads! Then I believe it was you helping your dad get his trailer ready...and on and on. Nonetheless, our older Phaeton motorhome has a residential fridge, and it's a pain at times (as I'm sure you know) with it's power needs. We have NO solar, but we do have four Battleborn Lithium batteries, so we're good for an overnight segment of time, but we're then back to running the generator 2 hours in the morning ,and 2 hours at night, which we don't care for....so we're always looking for places with shore power, adding to the cost of RVing. We do live in the Pacific Northwest, so no extreme temperatures for the most part, so we do go camping locally (within 500 miles from our sticks 'n bricks) and then several months in Arizona over the winter, thus we've thought of solar, but can't justify the $$, as we're also unsure of how long before we might upgrade our Phaeton! Well -- in our situation we get to research and determine which way we want to go. It's a blessing for sure - BUT we don't put our stamp of approval on just anything and any company. Which because of that is what is actually building his brand. We had many options on who to go with and who to recommend to our audience. - This was our top choice - maybe not for you but for us we like to support great people and Harrison and Enduro Batteries are pretty special - free or not. I always hear people talk about the solar panels, but they forget the batteries. They are actually more important to focus on. It's a balance. The sweet spot is to have enough battery to accept the charges and keep it topped off for the amp hours you are using during the day. People tend to load up on the panels on the roof because it is "cool", but forget to upgrade their batteries, either moving to Lithium, or adding to the existing battery bank they already have.

Cow town calgary folks do not even talk with that slang, sorry but it sounds like no brains between the ears. 🫤 Researching a lot imo, is a good thing. You’re right getting the same things as USA, is a lot harder for us. Jfi, I had a heck of a time finding lithium batteries, there was only one place I could get them in canada and that was from Ontario, the shipping add on was too painful, n only battleborne was the choice. I lucked out with Lion energy (was one of their first over border delivery) shipping me my batteries, with all inclusive, for less than the ontario outlet, meaning I didn’t have to worry about unknown fees tact on, or pay anything extra when the batteries landed on my doorstep, they made the shipping painless. That was four years ago now. Not many USA companies make shipping to canada painless. 🍻

With solar at .50 cants a watt you DO NEED to over panel, you will be suprised at how little power comes in when it is cloudy or you have a site with a few shady patches and you are there for a week you will appreciate having a bit too much solar. You can always use the extra power to heat your water saving you propane . I have a propane fridge so its not as power hungry and get by with 480 watts Most of the time, but there are days when that 480 wastt only puts out 80 watts.

Me and my wife are purchasing a new keystone TT and it comes standard with there solarflex 200 package . So we decided to add a dragonfly lithium ion 100 amp hour battery to complete this package. Solar flex 200 comes with a 200 watt solar panel and a 15 watt charge controller. My question is ...when your pluggged into shore power does it charge the battery also while being charged by the sun? Or does the battery only get charged by the solar panel? And in your opinion about how long will the batttery last while boondocking only running the 12 volt fridge and lights if you have numerous cloudy days?

I had a 30' RV with a 400 watt solar system, and it worked great! Your 200 watts will be plenty to run the refrigerator, and watch about 1-3 hours of TV each day. A few lights at night. I installed a 8 watt and 32 watt florescent light in the dining table and kitchen over the sink, (back in 1997, they did not have LED lights). While plugged in, the RV converter can charge the battery at 40 - 50 amps until it reaches about 13.8 volts, while the solar will add power to the battery only if the voltage is really low, then will shut off while the RV converter keeps the battery at 13.8 volts. So don't worry about the solar, it takes care of itself!

Compared to $900 for 100ah from their competition it sounds like $1200 for 200ah is a great deal

Did you know there are temperature limitations of the lithium batteries. We boon dock sometimes in subzero weather during hunting season. For me, it was better to go with a DC compressor 17 cubic inch french door refrigerator and 4 AGM batteries, because I don't want to keep a heater on the LiFePo4 batteries in the Colorado mountains. All I needed was to sell that AC residential refrigerator and add 2 more Walmart AGM batteries, 1200 watts of flex panels, a series charge conditioner controller, all it cost me is about 1200 for all after selling the residential. I can go to any hardware/Walmart store to replace the batteries if needed. The controller we have also conditions the batteries to extend their life. I have 2015 batteries that are still able to put out 90% of their original output using this type of solar charger conditioner, in my older trailer. Now I am going to use the power inventor for the recliners and vacuum cleaner and coffee pot until I convert those to 12/24 volt DC. Going total DC is the way to go in a boon docking camper. Inverters waste DC through the inverter possess of creating a sine wave. Good show though. Knowing what I know, I am waiting for the next generation of storage batteries. Have a great day

All true on the limitations. I believe Enduro has some interesting technology for that as well. You may want to call and ask. I remember Harrison saying they were testing all their batteries to those lower temps. Might be worth the call to ask. I do know that their batteries are 25% smaller in most instances so they fit in tighter spaces easier. Although it's cool to see how you have adapted to fit your lifestyle. good stuff. I am using 24v settings can you tell me what to set my controller on for hi voltage and low voltage and float voltage for lithium battery's

I wish we were knew all the answers but honestly we are not as knowledgeable as we should be. We would recommend calling Enduro and speaking with them and let them help. They are super customer focused and are willing to help guide others to what is good for them.

Will the 1100 watts of solar you installed allow you to go boondocking for a week or two and run the ACs, refrigerator, lights, tvs, etc??

Great question. Unfortunately our system was not our goal to run AC and microwave and everything. We can run Refridge, fans, TV, our Ninja Airfryer, coffee maker, internet and misc. Our inverter is only 2000 watts. I would encourage you to call Enduro Batteries and talk to Harrison. He will ask what your goals are and steer you in a direction that is best for you. We have 400 amp hours in batteries and it is working amazing as we boondock. When it has been 100 degrees we fire up the generator and run all 3 of our AC's to cool down and at like 9pm we shut everything off and run on batteries till like noon the next day. If it's cooler we just run on solar. So our system is right for us.

The words Crazy... and Insane, were used several times. And I agree! The costs and resources associated with a setup like this are so far beyong what 98% of your average, everday RV'er.. even full-timers.. could ever commit to! I don't know. Maybe a poor choice for a 1st release? Kinda turns me off to the channel. I think most are looking for more practical and affordable solutions for the every-man.

Interesting - as this amount is what it takes to keep our residential fridge running while we are not home - which is what our goal was. To be able to fly home and know that our rig was going to be powered while we were gone.

We're looking at getting a solor package, without braking the bank.

Our best advice... call Enduro. I listen to him guide people into the right set up for them and not a bunch of unnecessary things. Then take what you learn and start making your decisions. Hope that helps. Harrison is a very giving person.

Seems Enduro is targeting less knowledgeable you tubers for promotion. I hope Enduro installed the system for you Sad Best of luck with your system.

Our RV came with this fridge and we really like it.

Quick question, we need to replace our house batteries. Is it worth it to do Lithium if we are not doing Solar right now. Or should we just do new lead acid. We are only going to be out part time unless God Changes things again for us. Lol.

Well, think of it this way if you were to compare a Lithium to a lead acid, depending on the battery size (amp hours) you choose, Lithium batteries are lighter for lifting n hauling, Lithium charges up faster, lithium can be stored for months without a battery tender and be stored inside your home with no worries, Lithium battery doesn’t have to lay upright and requires no maintenance, Lithium can be drained farther down (so still have power longer), and Lithium gives you more power per battery, and Lithium will last longer than the lead brick, i mean lead acid. Lithium worth it? Depends on your tolerances, for me heck yes. 🍻

If we would have known what we know now, when we killed our other batteries and went to replace them with 4 of the same we would have went with 1 Lithium instead maybe 2 but def would have done lithium

Todd, make sure you look into that 26% federal solar tax credit.

Not a bad sales pitch. Why would I go with EnduroPower batteries when I could get SOKs for more than $100 less? SOK's have been reviewed by Will Prowse and torn apart. It is not your fault but all these KZreadrs push these top tier expensive solutions because they get the stuff at a discount or for free. That is why I like Will Prowse, he pays for them or he companies send the to him. He reviews them and if they suck or if you can get something similar for less money he points it out.

I guess we take just a little bit different approach, we are not looking for the least expensive option we are looking for the best value. We believe that the customer service and personal attention that we have heard of & experienced from EnduroPower is worth more than the couple hundred bucks. In our opinion any one can do a review and give you their opinion on if it sucks or not - which we have, but we are looking for people, products, brands that are the value and kind of company that we would put our name on - that may not be the cheapest option out there, but in our opinion it's the whole package that equals the best value. Mark...if you know how to put a system together...SOK is an excellent alternative... But they don't have comprehensive technical support.... Enduropower is a US company... If you need technical support and customer service Battleborn and Enduropower are the absolute best options I myself put my own system together using SOK.. they couldn't help with some technical aspects and their customer is overseas... I am happy with SOK after I figured out their glitches which took close to a month.. had to consult with GoPower for the assistance YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR..

Those batteries are WAY too expensive. I can get 1120ah of prismatic cells plus a BMS to manage them for less than the price of 2 of these that only give you 400ah, and they'd only take up about the same amount of room. Prismatic cells are the four or eight cells inside these battery packs, so it's the same thing, you just aren't paying the premium to have someone else put it together for you. It's worth assembling yourself to save thousands.

We can also order all the parts individually and make our own for cheaper than your suggestion as well... BUT.. that isn't what we are wanting to do. We wanted smaller case size for our bay... Enduro is 25% smaller in that premium lithium space.. AND the customer service is awesome because they are a growing company and willing to really help with needs and sell based on blue sky upgrades... sooo I feel we made the best choice for us. I hope you as well are happy with your choices... thanks for sharing other options.
