It would be neat if Crosman would make a commemorative version of this with real wood stock, but of course it would weigh more and cost more, but hey, it would be cool. The included scope is more of a toy, but it does work for backyard plinking. I prefer to use pellets for greater accuracy, but BBs are just as good for plinking. This is not a Red Ryder folks; fully pumped it is 3 times the power of a Red Ryder and can be dangerous if not handled properly. Be safe out there.

Just picked up one of 3 left handed finlight IIs in 300 mag that was sent to North America! I’m excited to get some rounds through it.

Great fun I have a sako carbon light I'm super happy with it but I wish it had the adjustable cheek rest. I'm considering selling it to get the finnlight. Nice rifle you can't go wrong with a sako.

I have a question, are the swing swivel studs removable??? If so, how? Do they unscrew? Thinking about getting a javelin bipod and I need to know if they unscrew, also I need to make sure one of the screws that are supplied with the bipod will go into the hole

Beautifully-made rifle for sure. Though one thing I don’t get is why nobody makes lightweight aluminum rings for the tapered dovetail on Sako receivers. Seems a bit silly to shave off maybe 100 grams by fluting the barrel and then be stuck using steel rings that weigh double what an alloy set would. There are lightweight bipod options available that would really suit a lightweight Sako; something like a Javelin weighs about a quarter of what the Harris does, and it allows the rifle to recoil in a straighter line, too. Those two changes would drop half a kilo from the rifle. I hope someone comes up with an alloy ring set to make the first half happen.

I have a finlight 30-06 it hits the scope every time but it still ejects . All the long action sako 85s hit the scope . If people say there’s doesn’t it’s just that they don’t realize it . I’m fine with it as it’s a hunting rifle . But it’s a shame that such a beautiful rifle has that flaw

@@pauldickson1495 I can send you a video of mine ejecting if you like? Every single shell ejects beautifully and clear as day you can see that there is zero contact with the scope/turrets. Maybe I got lucky? Who knows.. but it’s perfect in every way imo

If you take an empty case and eject it hard like in a hunting situation you’ll see that the neck of the case will be bent from contact. If it’s a long action caliber.thats why the sako 90 is a new design with two ejection springs on the bolt face .

It does compared to heavier rifles but it doesn’t bother me as it’s only harvesting a few animals.

You and I should be best friends. Same kuiu getup in the same camo and another person who appreciates sako rifles

I would like to know how the recoil is with this rifle? It does not have a muzzle brake so I’m very curious. Is it manageable or is it kind of hard to get used to? Also, I noticed you’re using a bipod, I have never used one before but I am considering getting one. I am worried about it leaving scratches or marks on my gun stock, Where are the bipod touches the gun stock. Do you have marks on your gun from the bipod? Or do you have some kind of way to stop that? Also what kind of a bipod do you have?

Recoil is heavy as the rifle is extremely light. It is manageable but something that comes with such a light rifle. I use Harris bipods, they don’t leave a mark on the stock as they have a soft pad between itself and the rifle stock. I use Harris bipods on my hunting and target rifles as they are affordable and very solid. Hope this helps!

I just got mine I haven’t even been able to set it up yet with a stove or anything. I love how lightweight it is, and I love the aesthetics. Is yours accurate and everything you hoped it would be? I have heard nothing but good things about these rifles

What is the accuracy at 100yds? Or any other longer like 300yds?

It shoots an inch or under at 100 yards. Around two inch groups at two hundred and just over three inch groups at 300. Using Hornady Precision Hunter 178grain ELDX ammo.

For anyone looking to get one of these rifles I think the standard stainless finnlight is much better option I have one of these in 7mm rem mag and I’m disappointed with how weak the cerakote is on mine and also how easy the stock marks and you better have a good coating of oil on the bolt or it will rust the things I like about it are it’s accuracy and raised check piece apart from that not what I would class as a good mountain gun for here in nz mine has scratches all over it where my tikkas still look near new also the thing weighs near just as much as the walnut option in 7mm rem mag I think Sako missed the mark when they designed this rifle

I got 2 finnlights 2 and 1 carbonlight I tried lots different ammunition and it seems they like Nosler partition bullets and nosler ab

I finally got this rifle, and I took it to the range today. It did not group terrible, but did not group very well either. I shot federal blue box and Winchester power max ammo through it. After the gun sat for a while while my buddy shot his gun, I would come back to it and the first shot would be decent, but then after that, The shots would be kind of all over the place within a 3 inch group at 100 yards. One shot would be on the edge of the bull’s-eye line and then the next one will be 2 inches to the left. I wasn’t very pleased. I’m hoping that you could give me some advice or tell me this is normal

So many different things could be effecting this. What caliber is the rifle, what grain projectiles were you using, what length barrel do you have, we’re you using a rear bag for stability, did you have a bipod

@@precisionrifle1 I had a rear and front bag for stability. They were not the best bags but I was pretty dang steady in my trigger pool was good. 130 grain federal blue box and 130 grain Winchester PowerMax Ammunition. 24 inch barrel. 270 WSM caliber

@@wesleyhobbs9 130’s should shoot well enough, but no one firearm is made the same so try a box of quality 140gn and 150gn and see if you can get better results. Mine shoots a lot more accurately with a cold bore

@@precisionrifle1 I ended up getting rid of the rifle, because it was just too much all over the place. I have never had a Sako rifle or even seen one in my life shoot this poorly. I truly believe there was something wrong with the gun, maybe they didn’t get it properly or they sold me a used one from the place I got it from, and it previously had something wrong with it. I just can’t handle not having perfection from a rifle of this caliber and being a sako! I ended up buying the exact model rifle but I went with the 6.5 x 55 Swede instead! It’s a long action but not as long as some of the other calibers, so the bolt throw isn’t bad! It almost feels like a short action still! I took it to the range and it is deadly accurate with three different types of ammunition! Including a swift, nosler and sako ammunition ! The swift shot a very tight group but about 1 inch lower than the other ones but I didn’t want to adjust my scope again because the other ones shot in the center target! It has very little kick to the rifle and it is an absolute pleasure to shoot!!! It’s truly a work of art rifle and shoots the way that it should. I’m very impressed with this rifle I cannot wait to use it during hunting season. The only thing is the ammunition is expensive and hard to find for this caliber. I would highly recommend this caliber though to anybody it is a true gem!

@@precisionrifle1 p.s. Have you seen the new essay sako 100 rifle that was announced??? It’s supposed to come out later this year, but it looks to be really nice and something very different. The scope is mounted on the barrel so you can take the barrel off with a tool that comes with it and change to a different caliber barrel that will also have its own scope on it. It looks really nice!!! I haven’t seen enough pictures to know if you have to have a scope on every barrel, but I’m thinking that’s what you will have to do. So not only will it be an expensive rifle but she will have to buy a different scope for every barrel I’m assuming. However, you can change out the barrel pretty easily it looks like from their video on their website with a few minor adjustments and then your scalp is already said it in already. I would be a little nervous though about the talking, making sure that you talk everything correctly so everything matches up. There’s one would version and then there’s a carbon fiber version

There has been continuous complaints of ejections issues!!! Is it still an issue? I have read nothing of Sako taking responsibility or fixing the issues

@@precisionrifle1 The only negative I heard you talk about in the video was the recoil. I’m considering a 270 Winchester short mag in this rifle. It is very expensive but I have had a few Sako rifles in the past and they are amazing! I have heard that short action calibers do not have the ejection issue as much as the longer action, but I know that the 270 short mag has a fatter cartridge so I’m a little bit concerned that I will buy this expensive rifle and have the issue. If I do that would be terrible because I have heard that Sako was doing nothing to fix the problem!

@@precisionrifle1 Also, you mentioned letting the barrel cool down between shots, so I have to ask, did you have any accuracy issues by shooting it to fast? The reason I ask this, is because in a hunting situation sometimes you might have to shoot an animal four or even five straight shots rapidfire to get it down. I have had that happen in the past. I want to make sure the rifle can handle that many shots in a row and still be accurate

@@wesleyhobbs9 sighting in new scopes on the rifle I have fired several shots in short succession and it hasn’t effected the group sizes. Not a rifle that I would put 60 rounds down range in a session as the barrel will heat up. But three or four no problem

I have the sako 85 finlight in 30-06 . Brass hits the scope dead center every time but still ejects . EVERY long action sako 85 will hit your scope does not matter scope height or size . I’ve tried everything. Even new ejector and heavy spring . It has to hit . Look at the fixed ejector at the 6 o’clock position. The brass has to go up into the scope. The guys that say it hasn’t happened to them just don’t realize it.

I own a Sako 85 SS Finnlight in 260 Remington with a fluted short barrel. After owning the rifle for 2 years and using it for one hunting season, the stock began decomposing and becoming VERY sticky. Beretta is apparently the parent company and I have contacted them numerous times about the decomposing stock. They refuse to do anything to rectify the issue that makes the rifle non usable as everything sticks to it. One would think that paying over $1900 US dollars just for the rifle, it would be a lifetime investment. The rifle is a good rifle...the stock makes it useless. I could NEVER recommend a Sako rifle to anyone as they DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT!

That’s the wrong scope for that gun…

@@precisionrifle1 it’s far too heavy for a hunting rifle. Also it’s FFP which doesn’t lend itself well to hunting. I’ve owned that scope. It’s not even close to a good option for a hunting rifle. Great scope for a LR target rifle!

I wanted one so bad until I held one . Feels cheesy and cheap.
