thank you so much...I prefer to be behind the lens but ok I now need to join in and not turn off the video camera in zoom..I tested by using my modeling light with umbrella and diffuser(einstein 640) but ugg very orangey and over exposed so perhaps Ill get a ring light with a different color temp. Thanks for pointing me in a different direction. As far as background and what looks good on camera..well I think I have that part covered!!!

Thanks for another great video! This brings up a related lighting question I've been puzzling over. I can set a custom white balance in camera using a gray card. But can I have the camera tell me what it measured so I can dial in matching color on a Lume Cube or similar, without going to a computer?

  • @pal2tech

Unfortunately not with Fuji. You'd have to use the custom and then maybe look at the little pixel chart and try and match that. Difficult. I wish they would offer that!

where the light is placed is so important, when it's off to the side like your $1000 light it looks very professional, whereas everything else is in line with the camera and looks like a flash grenade has gone off

I've noticed that with a colleague I have regular zoom calls with - I suspect he's got a window off his back left shoulder somewhere (there was a recent late afternoon call with what I'm guessing was lense flare) so it make sense he uses artificial lighting.
