Thank You For Watching! (Let me know what your favorite Lego Set was - whether you owned it or not)

They sort of stopped being Legos when all the specialty pieces started coming out. I mean, the whole idea was to use your creativity to make stuff out of the few shapes you were given. But...my favorite thing to do was make battleships...we had rules to them, because we would throw legos at each others "ships" depending on the "guns" you had on them...hoping to break apart your opponents ship and be the winner. Fun times.

My favorite set was the 6886 Galactic Peace Keeper. It's still my favorite and I still got it. In the mid 90s there was another minifig scale space shuttle with a launch pad and it was also available with an airplane that could transport it.

@@NerdOutWithMe Space Police 1 is my favorite space subtheme. A couple of years ago I completed my SP 1 collection with the Lock Up Isolation Base. When I was a kid I didn't even know it existed because it was only available in North America. The red visor against the white helmet looks really great.

I've still got my space sets, I've been working on restoring them for the past couple of years , as I played with them a ton as a kid and many of them have broken pieces or faded prints, I'm really close to being done. It has not been cheap.

Thank you so much for putting those Lego ads and pics of towns in there… yeah I know the Zack/Jack/Mack ads were a bit over the top, in Britain they had more creative ads, but it’s just great to see all those sets again, swooshing past. My favorite sets I owned back in the early 80s were the Yellow Castle and Galaxy Explorer sets. I loved the space and town baseplates too. I even got a whole collection of river baseplates but that’s probably fuel for another video… 😉 And thanks for having good ears!

Dude, I so feel this video... I love them still, my kids love them (which is great). But yea - so many specialty pieces, stickers, etc... it sort of takes all the fun and imagination out of it. I have when so many pieces have such a specific use.

It's all good. There are things in LEGO's past I wish they still made like Maxi figures, a line of evolution that never progressed past one stage. The new stuff has it's strengths and weaknesses but it's always been a premium expense toy, high tolerance plastic doesn't make itself ijs. Oh yeah, can hear and feel the difference with other compatible brands.

That castle was a very cool set. My first legos was the Ultimate builder box. My first real set (not including Hero Factory) was LEGO Lord of the Rings Uruk-hai Army (9471). I got it at ToysRus for $24.99. When I was little my cousin dared me to walk across a bunch of legos on the floor with bare feet and I fell onto the legos face first. One of the legos was stuck in my skin above my lip. I have a scar from it LOL. Never walk across Legos. Loved the video!

This year during COVID I build a custom LEGO Game of Thrones Winterfell complete with Jaime pushing young Bran off Broken Tower. And since 2021 may be a rinse and repeat of this year my next custom LEGO project is to recreate Victorian Whitechapel and the main 5 Ripper victim locations. See y'all again in 2025....... haha.
