Thank you for correctly pronouncing Mogollon! Some years ago, Bartlett lake was so great for waterskiing! Dirt road back then, totally undeveloped, so not many ventured there. One time near a cliff, I saw a gorgeous gila lizard, and realized I skiied through a den? of snakes...not sure to this day what they were! We had a relative in fm NY and took him there on a turbulent day! The storm came up suddenly and swamped our old Spico flat bottom pdq! It was a bit tense, and a hemi does you no good at that point!!! I lost a sandal sinking in mud Pleasant. Had great fishing in Hawley. Many brooks! Nice campsite there, with the pups. My girl pulled raspberries while we also plucked them! Loved the White mtns & do miss the high country of AZ, but not much else.

My favorite is Roosevelt because there are Large and Smallmouth Bass and lots of different areas and techniques you can use. Canyon is nice if you like to use swimsuits. I know a guy who has caught over 50 largemouth at Canyon on Swims. He actually had the state record bass has it all weighed at a certified scale nearby and made one huge mistake. You can never take a fish from one lake or out of the lake and take elsewhere and put back in the lake. His certification for the state-record turned into a citation. Apache Lake down the street from Canyon is more remote, but great. Saguaro is the smallest and closet to town and in summer you'll see a lot of skiers and related and would only fish at night which is great. Saguaro has produced nice bass over 10 over the last many years, as Bertran.

I've only heard about Horseshoe and probably the most unknown lake in the state. Back in the 80's some older friends I knew use to talk about going to Horseshoe. I have been to Bartlett many, many times and bass fishing is pretty good there, not many monsters but it's very close to Scottsdale and you can catch some good numbers and have fun. Now local show host Johnny Johnson he's caught some big ones out there he has displayed on his show.

Thank you for featuring the lakes. Very interesting. Would have liked to hear about the depth of each lake; if fishing was allowed; what type of fish; the wildlife in the area (are there any bears, wolves, coyotes in Arizona; are any Park Rangers on duty and do they provide any lectures or your guides; what are cost of camping; and do you recommend any vehicle to travel to all lakes. The mini history on Teddy Rosevelt was interesting. Could you add more tidbits about the other lakes
