Got the Outlaw in the spring of 2020 after selling my old Perception Caster. I’ve been in the kayak fishing game since the Cobra Dive and I’m a big believer in K.I.S.S. The Outlaw is imo the best kayak fishing platform I could hope for. Motor if you like, paddle if you don’t. I mounted a striker 4 finder and some basic rail mount accessories and fish the crap out of it. Under rated by the industry at large. Thanks for honest review.

It's solid for sure. You can also use the Perception solo mount for the fish finder as well. You can pop off those black tabs and it's basically a screw-in ram ball mount. Thanks for watching!

I have owned an Outlaw for 3 years now. It’s best situation is shallow water. I fish in northern VA for snakehead which love shallow water. This kayak is the best. It’s a tank to turn but is so good for standup fishing. I bowfish from it and it’s the best platform. I remove the seat and installed a cooler but in fitted the cooler with a stadium seat so it’s still a great sit down kayak. I push through all kinds of pads and water veg with a push pole and this is king in those situations. 12 out of 10 for me

I love this platform. I have had mine for going on 3yrs. I installed a stern mounted trolling motor with toe steering and a Garmin 93SV UHD Echomap fish finder. Lots of room, very stable, and comfortable seat. 45lb trolling motor gets up to 4mph full speed. Can fish all day with my 100ah LiPO4 battery. Best bang for your buck, in my opinion. Throw it in the bed of my truck and I can go anywhere. I use a Pelican kayak cart that works great.

The Outlaw checked off a lot of boxes when I was looking for a kayak last year, such as an open deck and high seat for fly fishing, and availability in my area. But I wasn't in love with the aesthetic and it had the look and feel of a kayak that would take some effort to paddle. I ended up going with a Jackson Bite, but would like to take the Outlaw for a spin at some point.

The stability is top notch. It does come at a cost to the maneuverability of the kayak though. You didn't go wrong with the Bite

I just picked up a bite (though I might have to sell it and get a different color as a friend pointed out that it was in Buckeye colors which I hadnt noticed and cant unsee now lol) I needed a lightweight basic bare bones scouting boat that still had good capacity, performance and good stability when standing and getting into or out of the boat when on the water against a tree. After paddling mine it ticked all the boxes. Its one of the most underrated boats out there.

The Outlaw "replaced" the Striker (my first kayak!). And it looks fantastic! I recommend this to guys and, as you pointed out in another video, better to invest a bit more than just get a cheap kayak. This seems good for an entry level fishing kayak. And being for us larger folks is fantastic. And the saddlebags sound great. I just heard (from you) about The Showdown! Excellent! Roger, The Smiling BassHole

Another good video. Maybe running through the stats at the start or end of the video, or in the notes could be helpful. It was good seeing the bottom of the boat. Seeing that hull designed certainly shows its a flatwater/lake boat. I looked at the outlaw in the store and the first thing I noticed was how high up the seated position looked, especially to other kayaks. Id be curious to see how high it is compared to other boats. It looked like a good entry level boat. The place to store the seat looks interesting, though I wonder how often it would actually be used. Ultimately my concern was how high the seat was with no way to lower it, plus the lack of being able to trim the seat. However thats not to be expected at a boat at this pricepoint. Plus I was needing something more river focused.

With the increased price it's one of the worst boats in this price range. Not to mention that twrribad hull design gets caught on everything.

I'm about to pull the trigger on an Outlaw. I'm in it for the fishing stability. I'll paddle year one, and add a trolling motor over the winter. I've watched a ton of reviews and chose the Outlaw over an Old Town due to price and the ease of adding a trolling motor at the rear. I'm 6'2". Due to my height and the height of the seat, what paddle do you recommend? Thanks for your videos. I've watched several of them.

Hey, I'm looking into getting a new fishing kayak and I'm not sure what to get at all. I started on a used Pelican Sentinel 100x and it's incredibly uncomfortable and it lacks space and the I find the design to be frustrating. I'm relatively small at 5'7 145, but I'm athletic and young so I know I can handle something with some bulkiness to it. I have pretty much only fished lakes and ponds which is what I prefer but I have venture to rivers before. I honestly hate not being able to stand up in the kayak I have and would love to have something I can stand up in and I do rather like a higher seat position, but the perception almost seems to be extreme. Currently I'm torn between the Perception Outlaw 11.5, Pelican Catch Mode 110, and the Lifetime Yukon 116. I have chosen this cause they're at my local Dunham's and they all have an open space with a wide body. Would you recommend one over the other or go a completely different direction?

Seems like it'll have more drag due to the tri hull design of it. I just ordered one (im 5'8" 250#) and plan on powering it with a cheapo china outboard that looks like a string trimmer with a prop lol. I have no desire to paddle unless im in a canoe with my buddy.
