Great video, TJ. Probably one of the better install vids I have seen. I'm upgrading to a new yak in the next month or so and will have to do an install on it. My old yak was rigged when I bought it (used) so I haven't done one yet. Bravo Zulu on a great step by step without over complicating it. Cheers.

Bud I love the video and the detail of your methods only complaint is no PFD!! I know you probably can swim but safety 1st especially if your son is with you kids learn from example just don’t want anything to happen to you so we can keep enjoying these videos!

Ran across you yesterday at the sister watershed to the one you're on in this vid...Hillabee Reservoir. Very impressed with your attitude. You and your crew are the real deals! Enjoyed meeting you. Unfortunately when I went to eat my luncheon ham biscuit it had icicles on it. I fled early and on the way out I saw ya'll out there paddling happily along shooting video near the dam. Thanks for the tutorial! Just wanted to know if you could post pics or a vid showing how you mounted the transducer. I have a Perception Outlaw and it has a pocket underneath the yak and I think it’s for the transducer.

I wish i saw this a month ago.I bought a garmin striker 4 for mine and it works well.It doesnt have down scan but it has a flasher on it that i can use for jigging.Another great video and you are a hell of a fabracator.Keep up the great videos im a big fan

Michael Prevost does the transducer still work well with it being located in the hull surrounded by plastic?

TJ: Love your videos. Quite informative. In your power bank video, an inline fuse was not installed. If an inline fuse is installed, prior to the 4 way connector leading out of the battery box, would you still need the inline fuse for the fishfinder installed. Please advise, Martin

❤ It TJ Question if I may ask on the sonar how far down you have it from the top of the boat to the bottom of the keel? I've seen other video that the use the entire length of the wire. Again, thank you and keep the videos coming. god bless

T.J., Thanks for a really great video; I also subscribed to your channel. I'm a life-long (71 years) Fisherman and Boater; I just got my 1st Kayak (Vibe Sea Ghost 110). I'm getting the same Lowrance Hook2 5 inch with GPS so this video helped a lot. I do have a question. Did your transducer mount right up to the pre-drilled holes in the transducer cavity (on the bottom of the boat) or did you have to get a separate mount for it and were you able to put the screen back on (the bottom of the Kayak) without a problem. Thanks for your time and effort in making this video and for your answers to my questions.

That's awesome buddy! Congrats on the new Sea Ghost! Yes i was able to use the taped holes that are already under the screen, you will need to get you some screws that are the correct thread, i just happened to have 2 in my junk draw on my toolbox. Yes, the screen went back on with no issues and it works great! Corban Technologies , Yeah sorry about that my memory card filled up on me right in the middle of that part. Bust honestly it was just me installing two bolts through the transducer bracket and into the threaded holes in the kayak. Thanks for the sub! 👍🏼

joe gonzales , Thanks Joe! Yes I just unplug my two wires from the back of the Lowrance and slide it right out of the gear track. I have a small padded box I transport the fish finder in. I also reach into the front hatch and pull the two wires that are going through the Hobie plug. Just pull them until they are against the boat, that way they are not flipping around outside the Yak when you are hauling it. 👍🏼

Where did you get you paddle? It's nice and thanks for your videos I have done same thing on my thanks for the tutorial

Are the transducers interchangeable with the head units? In other words, can I buy the hook2 4x with bullet transducer and then later upgrade my transducer with a split shot? Thanks

I tried to put mine there but it got in way of paddle and constantly got drip on and hit. So now it's in center console

Do you have any problem with the transducer on your vibe sea ghost? My depth doesn't read right. Tried two different transducers with two different brand fish finders.

Some of the other Hook2 reviews I've come across mention the Auto Depth will switch between scales in shallower water, and put vertical lines across the screen. I'm in the market to pick up a unit before the season hits up here, and was wondering if that was an issue you saw with it as well, or was this really just a matter of setting sensitivity? Thanks bud, No, They make a Hook2 5 "Splitshot" and a "Trippleshot" the Trippleshot also has side imagine but the transducer is very long so make sure it fits where you want to put it before you get it.🤙🏼

TJ, how did you arrive at placing the fish finder where you did? When you are in the water at the end, it seems like you had to hold back your normal paddle stroke? I have a fish finder but I have no clue where to put it. I'm thinking inside my hatch between my legs so it's off the deck. Great video! Thanks

Hi TJ, thank you for sharing. Great info. I'm curious what the drawbacks are of using a cigarette lighter port? Also, do you suspect each cylinder terminal from the dash could be mounted without the mounting bracket? I don't have a flat space that it'll fit, but if I mount the terminals in the shape of a triangle they will. Figure drilling a hole and filling with silicone might work?

maguna211 , Hey, Thanks for watching! The cigarette port is fine to use but I like the wireless look better. tj will the cig lighter really work in the vid you had to hook it directly to the battery and I know the cig lighter is in the daisy chain with the other gauges and ports/.

I try to use an online fuse on each thing I have connected.🤙🏼

Got my SG130 last Friday! And got the fish finder for fathers day!! Just ordered the rest of the parts to do the install this weekend!! Hate the video didn't record the actual install of the transducer but I think it's pretty cut and dry. Did you use the pre-drilled holes to mount transducer? And if so, do you remember what thread pitch they are? One other question.... on the rod mounts behind the seat, do you have e a way to secure them for trolling? I took mine out Monday and just set the drag real loose and it worked but having to adjust drag while fighting fish is aggravating LOL

My biggest question, can you do a gps on one side, and down scan on another? I like to see my tracks, and then have a fishfinder on at the same time....

What’s up bud! Basically man I just wired the inline fuse on the red wire from the battery and as for the same adaptor, just wire it two the two wires from the unit making sure the red is hot and black is ground🤙🏼
