Thank you Kayak USA. I installed mine on Friday. I did mention a trick i came up with to avoid the loose nuts in the hull. After tieing the nuts to each string, i tied another string to them. After cutting them i pulled them right out. Another trick, i usedd a piece of wire taped to tge string to feed the string on thru. I have an ascend 12t with only one true access spot. I removex a rod holder and was able to do the back easier tgat way.
Love your videos. Covers everything with no questions left unanswered.
I finally decided to put an HD anchor system on my Old Town Predator PDL kayak. I watched this video a few times and there were some really helpful tips. However, the Old Town Predator PDL kayak has a LOT of curvature to it so it made it difficult to place some of the final parts of the anchor system. The ring doesn’t stay when I have it locked, but I think I can rig it to hold, but I need to get it in the water to tell. Thanks all the same.
So glad I found this video today before going through with the install on my Vibe SG110. Thought there was no way I would be able to install with the backing plates in the back but now I am holding off as I gather the proper tools to allow me to do it! Only thing I am planning to do different is adding a bit of marine loctite to each screw for extra piece of mind.
You Sir are a STEELY EYED KAYAK MOD MAN. Follow your video to a T and your tips worked like a charm. I watch your videos all the time. Thanks for your help. Ed

I installed mine today on my FeelFree Lure 11.5 following your instructions and it worked pretty flawlessly. Thank you very much for the information, it was very helpful! One little tip to fish the string or bungee cord out of the inside of the kayak is to use a vacuum cleaner that can reach to where the string goes in. My craftsman wet vac had a plenty long enough hose to reach and worked perfectly.
Just installed my Yakattack HD on my Lifetime Pro Angler 11’6” today ! Thank you for the tips!! I used knots instead of the nuts and I put one end of the kayak on a sawhorse and lifted one end as needed to get the cord to drop to the end with the hatch access. The hatch on the forward end of the boat is the only access point.
This is a great video with a lot of cool detail. One thing I noticed than no one has mentioned. T.J. shows a really good tip on pushing the nuts out of that backing plate before using the "nut on a string" method or the Yakattak bullet. He does this to provide the best hole pattern possible. Yep, both methods work great. Word to the wise - when you pop those nuts loose - they are a glue fit, not a press fit. When you pop the nuts loose - you have to glue them back in. Else - when you pull your strings tight, most likely you can push the nut back out of the backer because there is really nothing holding it in place. When I popped out the nuts on the backer I could see that there was a few drops of adhesive/locker in the pockets. Tried the method anyway just pushing the nuts back in. First try on pulling up the first 10/32 screw, nut on the backer fell loose. Not a huge deal just should have done this first: after removing the nuts as T.J. says to make the perfect hole pattern just apply a few drops of gel super glue. I even took a punch and tapped them home into the "glue bed". Worked like a charm. Key point is that the nuts on the backer are not a press fit, they are spot glued in place and when you pop them out to drill you need to replace the glue to keep them in place. Nice thorough video, thanks T.J..
Just got my new Lifetime Yukon and was about to send back the HD system I already had due to no access rear for backing plate installation..then I watched your video..thanks !! Great string trick !!
Without this I would’ve been lost but it worked out great after watching this. I would use two separate pieces of string depending on how far you have to feed them through the kayak. They will get twisted and waste your time
I saw this video a while back and thought it was a good video. I just bought a HD kit and had an oh sh*t moment. Now I cannot stress how GREAT this video is! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Your video was excellent, I used your string technique with my old town 120 pdl and it worked flawlessly. Thank you very much , I had anxiety drilling holes in my yak, but I felt like I knew what I was already doing... 5 stars!!
Thanks for this video! Just installed my anchor trolley and followed the instructions almost to the letter. You did a great job explaining the process with just enough cuts and edits to provide context.
Life saver. I also have a Vibe SG 130 and just bought this anchor trolley. Thank you!!!
Thyere's nothing like watching an expert! Thanks
Thanks for the walkthrough Kayak USA, just installed the HD Anchor Trolley after watching your video. The Wildy Recon 120 HD doesn't have a mid hull hatch so I needed help on the bullet rigging for the trolley lock. Can't wait to test this out with the SideWinder combo.
Very detailed instructions. Thanks!

I just got done installing a Yakgear anchor trolley on my daughters kayak. I watched the manufactures install video and struggled to follow because of the camera angles they had. I just found your video and you do an incredible job explaining everything. Your different camera angles are extremely helpful! I like how the YakAttack trolley system looks. So going to try that on our next kayak. Thank you!
Thanks so much for making this video. It really simplified installing yak attack trolleys on my old town topwater pdl!
I appreciate your videos. I’m at the beginning stages of modifying my catch 120.
Thanks for the walk through. Added the Trolley Hd to my shearwater today. The location of yours helped me a bunch!
Excellent video! This helped me very much. FYI I used baking twine and blew the twine to the other end of my new Coosa HD. Didn’t even need the hanger.
Just bought a Vibe seaghost 130 yesterday. I love the boat and your videos are great for necessary modifications. Thanks

Hello TJ, I hope all is well on your end. Just to let you know, I recently purchased the yakattack anchor trolley system for my sundolphin journey 10ss, and using this video as a guide. Although I've viewed tons of videos of installations on this brand & others, I must say you're the inspiration on why I went with the yakattack system. I won't be recording the process but will most likely do a video afterwards. I know this is an older video from 5 years ago, but it's the best TUTORIAL, I feel, to go on.

Well done Video! Great tips for mounting the HD trolly system
Awesome video! The only think I would change in your process is tie a third string to the two nuts so they’re easy to pull out!
Dude, you are a genius!
Great Video, made my installation sooooo easy. Thanks A Lot
Great in depth video. Learned the bullet technique which I found helpful. All in all, nice job, thanks for taking the time to share the content.

Bout to install mine, thank you so much for the video bro
Cool string idea. I would have never thought of that. Could also use a vacuum to suck up the string instead of the coat hanger.
Thanks for the video. I’m in the process of installing one on my Old Town Sportsman Bigwater 132 PDL. All I have left to do is to put the guide pads on. Your video saved me a lot of time and money. I also did the install of the volt meter, USB port, and cigarette lighter. Great tips and tricks for a noob like me. It even looks like I had the work done by a professional.

Hi Scott. I’m in the process of getting an Old Town Topwater 120 PDL (in Australia). Did you use this same process to get the rear pulley installed or did you do something else please mate?

@@PaulMotu hello. I pretty much followed the same process shown in the video. The front and middle pads were relatively easy to install but the rear was a bit of a pain. I was able to manage with a wire clothes hanger. I hope that answers your question. Good luck mate.

Little trick if you dont want to drill a third hole for your backing plates. Instead of string use fishing line (I used 10 lb test). Run it through each hole and into a nut just like you did. You can pull the backing plate up tight enough to start the screws and when you run the screws down it breaks the line and the nut falls off the back. Easy peasy.

Kayak USA I gotta get some of your decals just on a fixed income right now gotta wait until I can put some money aside
best one with HD and that area that has limited access!
G'day from Australia Kayak USA, I'm glad some how found your channel!! I'm getting the new 2020 top of the rang Kayak we have here in Australia. I can not use my boat anymore my lower back is no good, and i can not pull the motor just stuff like that. But i want my Kayak just like a boat hay bro!! I hope you see this to just wanted to know if we can hook up up IG. And pick your brain a bit about a lot of stuff on your channel about putting power in a. Kayak and set it up like how I want it!! Petal drive as well, But I can get a battery pack for it to make the motor, power by the battery it's a over drive system. It's not cheap but should be fun first time buying a Kayak like this!! And i switched over the way you guys fish for bass, But for Australia fresh water Murray cod. Just by doing that I have caught more cod in 1 year then, I have in 3 years this time last year got. My new PB on a drop shot rig!! a 77.52lbs Murray cod and 3 days after that! I drop my biggest and seen with my own eyes on a home make spinner bait, 100+lbs. But anyway thanks for making these video buddy but, I hope you see this and we can just a quick chat about. How to make sure I have it setup how i want it! you guys in the states know what you are doing when, it comes to kayak fishing boys!! And just a little bit of help would help sir take care stay safe.
Merry Christmas !
Merry Christmas TJ.
Merry Christmas 🎄
Great video, I may have missed it but I don't think you mentioned that after you drill you holes for the rear mounting plate and before you tie you placement string to the mounting plate, be sure to put the three nuts that you removed back in the plate. Going out to mount mine now on my Eddyline Caribbean 14
Instead of using string, use florist wire. It's small enough but ridged enough to turn the backing plate once inside. You won't have to drill a third hole.
Love your vids bro. Got turned on to you from watching and subbing Trip. Keep them coming. My first kayak is being delivered this week. Can’t wait. This will be one of my first mods is the trolley. Subbed.

Adding the HD kit this weekend. Thanks Man...
Wow! Great video! Thanks bro for your tips and tricks in this video. Soon I'll be purchasing my first kayak and was confused about how the trolley system worked and it's use. Now it all makes sense. Your video really helped me if I should ever need to install that trolley system to my new kayak. It looks like a fun project and I'm sure it will bring great satisfaction upon the completion of this anchor system. I know this video is over a year old but if your around, what is a good anchor weight to use for a kayak. So many different styles and weights out there. Don't want to be too light or way too heavy. Your thoughts on that would be appreciated. Take care and be safe!

Thanks boss.
it's always a good idea to add sealant to every hole you drill in a yak. cheap extra insurance, even if you fully install, then undo 1 and seal it, then the other. great video though!
Nice kayaks. Wish they wouldn’t have removed them from most of the lower Gulf Coast. Closest access I have is Pensacola, Fl.
Nice
Could you do a video on how you would set up an anchor with a float that you can detach if needed
Thanks, I love the Koi carp colors of the kayak. I wonder if it helps attract carp when fishing?
Took me almost 4 hours to do it , hobie outback 21 , front where hatch is 4 min . The back one where i used the rigging technique almost made me suïcide.. 3 times s bolt popped out, glued them later, out of sheer frustration i had the backing plate wrong twice. One hole was a bit of and that was the cause of all the drama. Also used sealant everytime , it was a mess , screemed wheb i finally succeeded just before dark lmao
Hey..!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS..!!!
Thanks for the video. Just bought my first kayak and doing some research on installing the trolley before I take a drill to my new investment. Nice trick with the string and the backing plate. I can probably use that elsewhere. I noticed you’ve got the boat sitting on top of what appears to be a cart built out of PVC. Would you have a video showing it’s construction or pics. Right now I’ve got mine sitting atop 2 saw horses cushioned with split pool noodles.
