Pageflip butterfly pageturner is my favourite now after using airturn. Compared to airturn my experience is more stable connection with iPad and more solid design using pageflip butterfly.

amzn.to/3x6Sv45 ^ is this the one you have? This would be my other recommendation for sure. Def a great design and very compact! My main reason for liking the AirTurn more was the Butterfly felt more like a button I had to press, whereas the AirTurn feels more like it senses the compression/flex movement. I’m curious, do you mind if I ask what kind of connection issues you had with your AirTurn? I’ve been using them since 2013 and have never had an issue. The old design was a little clunky in terms of one button controlling everything (I hated turning it off without accidentally resetting it 😂) and the cables weren’t as strong as the DUO500.

@@Josh-Ring Yes, this is the model I'm using. And regarding your experience with AirTurn where it feels more like it senses the compression/flex movement, I would say that the Pageflip is giving this same experience. For now anyway, I do like to use the PageFlip. I also did some try out with boss fs-1-wl but on stage it turned out that the buttons are to small to accurately press the right button. For home / studio practise it is ok but not for stage performance. And well, it is all about preference. If you like AirTurn and it works for you, just stick with it :-)

If you have to play outside, I would add another 'must' for an iPad: an anti-glare screen film. In bright light, it takes you from almost unreadable to perfectly serviceable. At the same time, the battery pack is a must as the screen will be at max brightness the whole time. I have used a whole battery in one concert finishing on 3%! One more thing is beware of temperature - in bright sun, the iPad can overheat and switch off mid gig. It happened to me but, fortunately, I was one of two bari saxes playing (sax octet) so could share his sheet music..... Cheers!

Oh, good call! I rarely play outside so I didn’t even think of that. Do you have an anti-glare screen film you’d recommend? Thank you for your ideas!

@@Josh-Ring Sorry, no. Just a google and picked the one that looked reasonable! I've not got the original packing anymore. FYI, I use the half page turn and, as I play standing up most of the time, I always angle the pedal so that the 'next page' paddle is nearest to me. When you go for the turn, you know you are going to hit the right one. Of course, there is always when you accidentally press it twice... 🤣

FYI, Apple Pencil 2nd Gen won't work with the latest iPad Pro (M4) and Air (M2) models and require the Apple Pencil Pro because of the redesigned front camera layout.

Oh no! Thanks for the heads up. I had no idea the Gen 2 was becoming obsolete already…
