In 2015, it was surely Messi. He scored 58 goals in 57 appearances that season while still providing 31 assists. That’s 89 goal contributions in 57 games. Bro, insane!
But it wasn’t just about the numbers. Look at the impact. 2014 was the worst year for Messi and Barcelona. Barcelona lost La Liga to Atletico on the final day of the season, and that meant that they suffered their first trophyless season in a long time. Although Croatia were beaten 4-2 by France in the final on 15 July, Modrić was awarded the Golden Ball for the best player of the tournament, and was included in the Team of the Tournament.

in 2019 Vandijk won the PFA player of the season, and UEFA player of the year, also was the closest player to Messi for the Ballondor

I still feel like 2018 and 2019 go to Messi. He won the Golden Boot, won the Playmaker Award, had most G/A in Europe (most goals and most assists in one season is crazy!), his individual performance was amazing, and he won LaLiga with a mediocre Barcelona side and did all that *TWICE*

I most certainly do not agree with Palmer being the best in the world this year like the guy just spams dammed penalties I am disliking the video for that
2015: Leonel Messi. He won the Ballon D'or and was brilliant for Barcelona. 2016: Luis Suarez. The man became only the third player ever to score 40+ La Liga goals and he outscored Ronaldo and Messi at their peak. 2017: Cristiano Ronaldo. He was unplayable that year and scored twice to secure back to back Champions League titles. A Ballon D'or to boot for his wonderful year. 2018: Mohamed Salah. One of the best Premier League debuts ever only to be outdone by Haaland but more on him later. 2019: Virgil Van Dijk. The man was robbed of the Ballon D'or that year after playing a role to revive Liverpool. 2020: Bruno Fernandes. As much I don't rate him, he made a huge impact for Manchester United and we secured 3rd place that year and 2nd the following season. 2021: Robert Lewandowski. Setting the new Bundesliga record for the most goals in a single season and was robbed of the Ballon D'or for 2 years. 2022: Karim Benzema. The most deserving Ballon D'or win that year after scoring goals for Real Madrid to win the Champions League and La Liga. 2023: Erling Haaland. The best Premier League debut by a long shot. 36 Premier League goals, 4 hat tricks in one season. Won the treble with City and broken so many records. 2024: Cole Palmer and Phil Foden. Palmer is Chelsea's best player in otherwise dreadful season for Chelsea. Foden on the other hand is carrying his boyhood club to keep their hopes on winning City's 4th straight Premier League title.
Ronaldo was the best in 2015. 76 minutes per goal and 57 minutes per goal contribution compared to Messi's 87 minutes per goal and 60 minutes per goal contribution.
