Meindl are incredible - I just wish they'd avoid that weird, sport shoe/tactical sole unit with a contrast section in the middle. I hate it. They've got few traditional boot soles left in the range, I had to bump up to another brand at 30% more to avoid another, "utility boot", sporty sole. Yuck.

Just bought my first pair of Meindl mountainshoes yesterdag. They costed 259 euros but I never walked this stable in my life. Going on a 1 week hiking trip in Austria about 6 weeks, so glad I have these good shoes😊
When they are ALL MADE IN VIETNAM - does it really matter?!?!?

MEindl, Zamberlain.Many good brands missing. Hanwag and Lowa, are the best German brands though!

Salomon, are 100% junk made in deep China! Good marketing, doesn't mean good boot. Hanwag, Lowa, Meindl, all German brands, are WAY better. Also Italian brands, like Asolo,Aku,Scarpa,La Sportiva, all are way better than any Chinese brand, icluding Salomon. Sorry, but only people with knowledge and experience, can judge. WAtching videos, isn't experience, marketing brainwash.
