Great video...you gave me other options to consider. I've been looking at the new Merlin "Minworth" heated gloves, and now you've given me more research to do (damn you!) lol. Seriously, thank you for making the time to consistently produce such insightful, objective content. Always super informative!

Great review, and I have to agree with you, both make excellent heated gear. I've had Gerbing jacket liner and gloves for over 16 years and just recently bought a Keis jacket and the three-fingered gloves, not because I could fault the Gerbings (far from it - excellent products and excellent customer service) but simply to try the competition. Haven't used the gloves yet, but the jacket is excellent. I'm sure the gloves will be too!

Good review, I mentioned it before but I do have a pair of Keis 601’s (the chunky ones that fit over the jacket). The threading of the wire is not a problem even after you connect one gloved hand and then attach the other wire on the ungloved hand (whilst wearing these thicker gloves). My thoughts are when it’s cold enough for heated gloves you really need (I really need) the best heat retention you can get, so my preference is always to have it over the sleeve. I would estimate they are probably identical in performance to the Gerbing (very similar style / design) The downside is you do lose some feel / dexterity, but once they are plugged into my Keis heated jacket the additional faff is completely worth it.

I tried the 601 and 701 on at sports bike shop last weekend. I found the 601 to be a better fit and less chunky than the 701. The 701 felt like wearing boxing gloves and the fingers didn't give any feeling of being more dextrous than the 601 like people are saying. Maybe it's just me? I hate thick gloves, they are dangerous in my mind. Not managed to find a thin waterproof heated glove as yet.

In my years of riding, I have often found rain and cold to go hand in hand, and I don't want rain running down into my gauntlets, so it's under the cuffs for me.
