The Zeta Gundam Ver Ka is definitely the greatest transforming kit Bandai has put out, with the Double ZZ Gundam coming in at a close second place for me

..and simultaneously the shittiest ver. ka ever made. its barely even a master grade! no full inner frame, super shitty stickers, and about as much shelf presence as a lego minifig.

ZZ was fun AF to build and transform

it's honestly pretty funny how the Zeta ver ka is the only regular release 1/100 MG last year & it sure as hell didn't miss the number 1 spot. They finally made a Zeta that's actually perfect in model kit form & I couldn't be happier when I built one last year

I can't wait to get my first kit and it's all because of you I got into this hobby thank you Mecha.

dont worry about grade theyre all easy if youre patient and careful i reccomend the astray hi resolution as the absolute peak of gunpla it has a dos cast metal inner body that doesnt rely on fragile plastic joints but be careful about the katana it snapped at the hilft for me ver ka sazabi and turn red astray with those TWO MASSIVE TRANSFORMING GUN SWORDS are also some of the absolute best my advice is to never cheap out on low grade kits. waste of money and space ESPECIALLY if the mobile suit theyre inspired from already has a higher grade kit out from anytime since 2010ish imo its master grade or better

4:26 I actually appreciate you calling out Bandai on this. FM are usually only $10 cheaper than MGs where I am (unless you are talking about oversized MGs like Virtue).

@@SunBro_TalosFull Mechanics are bigger and have more detail and parts than HG kits. HG is 1/144 and FM is 1/100

@@SunBro_Talos They're something like a half-step between HG and MG. MG size, and usually without all the MG flairs, hence the "half step" label.

I just got into Gunpla late last year, and I've already amassed a little collection and lots of tools. Happy that I have about half of the ones on this list. I can't wait to see what comes out this year!

I finished building the FM Aerial Gundam a few weeks ago, and I must say, it was a blast putting it together!

Hoping to experimemt more with HG kits and going further with top coating, decaling and painting some kits to a point where I can make a custom of my own. Thanks for sharing such banger picks for some of the best kits, some of which I've grabbed for myself and experienced as a someone who's just getting into the hobby!

Love your channel and all the advice... I just started building this past Christmas am 100 % involved now...just 4 straight builds and a new century zero liger zero for now but the new exia and shin burning are next on my list.

Got that MGSD Barbatos for Christmas…WOW! That was the coolest build I’ve experienced in a while.

I too, look forward to our MGSD overlords! Also, one item I keep my eyes out for is the KOSMOS led kit for the FM Aerial. Definitely curious as some of the images I’ve seen are mind blowing!

I really hope we get some more MG announcements this year, and another PG kit.

When I saw RG Epyon at 2nd place, I was wondering if there was an MG release at all this year, then I realized we had MG Zeta Ver.Ka. Congrats to those who got all of the kits on this list. Good job Mecha! I have no favorites of the year.

I'm looking forward to this year's Gunpla Lineup but also a bit sad as I may not be able to buy new kits. I'm a dad now so I must put my gunpla money for our little one. I'm still a lucky dude as my wife gave me an RG Epyon for Christmas, a perfect gift for my hiatus from the hobby. I may not be able to acquire new kits, but I will always be a part of the community.

I have been waiting for this video for a while.

I'd say one I've really enjoyed seeing was the FM Aerial since I love the feminine designs so much, although I wish we'd get an MG of it at some point. FM Aerial is great but I've always loved the armour gimmicks of MG kits. Also, I love the building process of kits. Seeing the inner frame details is always a joy which is why I prefer MG kits.

Tbh I’d say that rg is more like mini pg kits then mini master grades, there’s so much detail and gimmicks that’s work, much more like a perfect grade then a master grade

Hey there, i am new to gunpla and was looking arroun ffor my next set to build. first of all, thank you alot for this video. I definitly found some sets i would love to get. Saldy almost all sets i found here and in other videos that were recommended are all out of stock, both locally in my country and in the shop you linked to. I live in germany so i might be out of luck when it comes to this hobby ^^.

Kinda unexpected but also glad to see the Zeta Ver. Ka at the top spot. I thought it'd turn out to be Epyon cause it's a Real Grade, i haven't built mine yet but i'm really happy to see my all time favorite Mobile Suit at the top of this list.

I think it's also about what these two kits achieved. While the RG Epyon is the perfect Epyon, the MG Zeta is both a perfect Zeta AND a perfect transforming Zeta, which Bandai had not achieved for 40 years ever since the Zeta graced the screen.

I got into Gunpla at the start of this year and Epyon is the first I completed and I have to say it is my favorite thus far and I’m on to no 2.

Just today I took the EG Build Strike Gundam Exceed Galaxy and mixed it with the regular EG Strike Gundam. It has the more traditional Strike/Build Strike colors of the red/blue chest and the red feet mixed with the effect part pieces on the chest plate and knees. I have the regular Strike shoulders on it for compatibility with the strike packs they're releasing later this year for max options. The only actual modification to parts I did was I chopped off the fins on the chest piece that stick up so it now has better compatibility with the Universe Booster. It doesn't fit perfect because the chest plate extends a little too far out, but it's close enough that it doesn't look too bad. Doing this also left me with an almost entirely blue/grey strike. It's practically the Deactivate mode, except for the red/yellow on the head and the EG system plates from the exceed on the shoulders.

I hope we get more RG sets in 2024

Not gonna lie, The Witch From Mercury kits kinda foocked up the HG line... great vid once again!!! can't wait for next year's countdown.

New kits are great, but bandai needs to up their restock game too. I saw news that the new factory for bandai hobby should begin operation this year, so hopefully that means older, harder to find kits get restocked. (also do we really need to restock HGUC Sazabi every other month?)

That's for the video just started getting in the hobby and want to see some budget friendly kits.

MG and MGSD line shows what potential lies for IBO MS can deliver. the mech design translates very well to the real world when being given over-the-top production quality. with the new animation project for urdr hunt, wishing more kits from Post-Disaster timeline

Love the Build Strike Exceed Galaxy.

I whole heartedly agree with our desperate need of a new pg. My favorite part of kits are the builds (The more complex, the better) and ive been fiending bad ever since the pg-U grandaddy and MGex strike freedom. I needs that itch scratched bad man.

I have to admit RG r amazing because u don't have to paint if u don't want to. The coloring is really good and all u have to do is add panel lining to give it detail.

Lovin this list, even if I still need to get most of these kits 😂 The Schwarzette is definitely my number 1 gunpla of 2023. You could be a final fantasy fan or a transformers fan and still enjoy the Schwarzette. In the one wonged form, it looks like Sephiroth, the One Winged Angel. If you buy two kits to give it two full wings, it looks like Nova Prime. One mecha kit, two evil alien angels! What's not to love? Edit: also, I'm prating Bandai makes a master grade of it. I'd buy 2 kits in a heartbeat

Ngl, I had quite high expectations for Build Metaverse kit as I'm a Gundam Build fan and the success from TWFM kits actually convinced me about Bandai's HG line. Then the 3-episode anime and the poorly designed kits (except for the Exceed Galaxy and Diver Arc) just totally let me down. Luckily I watched your review and chose the MGSD Barbie over Plutine, 100% correct decision. Thank you Mecha for great reviews through the year, always support you and your contents!

Your videos are really well produced but I seriously think shots of your builds would benefit from more directional overhead lighting than the broad omnidirectional softbox look you often use. I get why you use it, it does really well at showing off the details in the model- but when you're posing and stuff give us some dramatic lighting. 😈 Uhhhh reference material. Think Astartes.

Finally some respect for the zeta gundam

I got into gunpla summer of last year and have 40 kits under my belt now lol currently working on rg epyon and just got my first MGs, MG sinanju OVA and MG Unicorn. Never able to do this as a kid and now at 32 you and zakuaurelius got me to say FUCK IT lol also helps the local hobby lobby has them 40 percent off every other week!

where do you buy these? anything in australia is 30-50+ lol regardless of what kit it is

How long before they simplify the inner frames of the MGSD kits like they did to modern Master Grades

I only have the Hg Ariel Rebuild, Rg Epyon, and Mg Zeta Ver ka, they hobby shop was always sold out of the other hg Mercury kits and I died a bit inside

The last newest kit i build was the hg nightingale. My back log still has like 20 model kits to go and 10 of them are mg 😂

my pick is the HG TOLRO-800 "Torohachi" and the HGUC Hobby Hi-Zack A.O.Z. version hich sadly both are Gundam Base exclusives despite being new molds created.

Here's hoping the new factory will start operations this year and we start getting more new releases that aren't low effort cash grab HGs. Third party already announcing some kits that the community has been demanding forever... (ie 1/100 GP02)

I hope that the Calibarn, the schwarzette and the aerial rebuild will get a future in the MG line 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🙏🏾
