The best one is the TI-89. It has the better CPU and TI hasn't locked out assembly functionality. Also, it has a clean and uncluttered UI and a very nice to use Program editor. You can also code in C on it with the right compiler. It's a graphing calculator with a 68k onboard, the same that the Macintosh and Amiga had. Next to the 83+SE this was my fav calculator to code on in high school.

There were various models of the TI-nspire starting from 2007, of which some are in black and white with lcd displays and some are equipped with color screens, hence the cx. TI-nspire with Touchpad was one of the revised black and white models. The Ti-nspire CX is the model that came after that, and the CX II is the newest model available.

We're all here waiting for a single character to appear on my god damned FX-82 while my smartphone can play PUBG 30fps in a smaller god damned form factor for less price. Looking at all the calc designs they literally look like they're from 1979, and have the 8086 or worse to match. I don't think the 8086 needed to wait 2 seconds to write one character on the screen when you reach the 50 character limit like 100x160 pixels would be generous in the calculator industry. Can we get something that doesn't look like a pocket IBM 5100? At least the 5100 had more than 3 lines of high resolution text and a mechanical keyboard. jeez

How do you get a phone for less than an fx-82 which literally costs £15. Plus, newer color graphing calculators can do much more than what you’re describing. I agree, calculators are overpriced and underpowered but you’re exaggerating A LOT.
