Adam , this is the best ! This is what the best have done for over 100 years ! Same thing as Mike Adams taught : left arm down the toe line across the chest till you run out of arm and the turn will take care of the rest and like you said ,make that little loop into the delivery position ! Thanks, John

I like how all the lessons are short and concise. My swing thought on take away has always been slow, big arc with both arms and trunk while keeping head still. This lesson seems to reaffirm that.

As good as it gets Adam. Left Hand Pinky Pressure also Helps. If you look from down the line you can clearly see the Ring finger and Pinky of the Left Hand until they pass the Right Hip. (Kinda like your flashlight)This weeks Hogan Special on the Golf Channel had segment of the Coleman clip in his later years talking about the middle 2 fingers of the Right Hand. How many listeners paid attention to what he said about the last 2 fingers in the Left Hand? Pinky's trigger the Ulnar region of the forearm and this is the area that people never see from our top down perspective. The Ball does though. Alignment of the Shaft bisecting the Right Forearm is everything. It bisects on the take away and trails in the Strike. Great Stuff my friend.

On Tuesday I scored 38points in a qualifier and received a 0.3 handicap reduction and today, Wednesday, I scored 43 points (gross 82) at Woodcote Park GC, Surrey - a course I have never played before. Now have a driving accuracy of 76% and added 15 yards to my drives. Long may it continue - a great tip!! Thank you

Hi Adam, when my Dad was introducing me to golf he gave me a drill of imagining a ball sitting on a short tee 10 ball widths back along my intended ball path. He said to knock that imaginary ball off its tee- this helped with a one piece takeaway. Sometimes today I almost feel as if I pick the club up as the backswing begins (trying to keep it outside)- I seem to have good luck with that because it "makes" me bring the club 'in' at the beginning of the downswing- tucking my right elbow. I also watched a Bob Toski (I think it was him) instructing an 'inverted C' - in the backswing- on plane in the backswing and then inside from transition. What do you think of this (these) ideas? Thank you for your videos !

  • @Scratchgolfacademy

Jim, The drills might be helpful. The effectiveness of a drill depends on what your tendencies are at that point, plus each person reacts to drills and feels things differently. I’d film myself and see if the drill you are doing is improving your motion. I hope this helps. All the best, Adam

  • @davidsale1226

Does initiating the backswing by a smooth push away of the left shoulder, arm, and hand constitute an undesirable "placing" of the hands and club as referenced in this video? It would seem that initiating the take away in this manner would facilitate good timing as it would prevent a too early turn of the hips and allow the club, hands, arms, and body to reach the top at the same time--an essential to good timing that you reference on another video. Moreover, this would also assist in creating a good swing plane. Thanks so much, Adam, for your superb instructional videos!
