No problem. If you need me to test anything else let me know.
The ball spinner is awesome. I marked all my golf balls. Great to line up a drive or iron shot. You will be blown away when putting and you watch that balance line run true.

Its a great tool
I’ve had a spinner for years. Titleist comes up on the manufactures arrow more than any other except Maxfli Tour, which are balance spun at the factory! Thanks for the piece

Thats intresting. Ive been hearing about the maxfli tour ball alot latly.
Nice video Miles. Just in the process of editing the follow up to my video about this thing. Should be up pretty soon. After watching you and Gabe I realized I should probably plan out my videos a little more. I tend to just shoot from the hip and talk as I go without much planning and you and Gabe present things so much better. I guess that makes mine a little different though eh? Anyway, just want to remind anyone interested that if you don't want the big line all the way around the ball, there is the option to put the little dot on top and then turn the machine over and use the bottom cup to mark a line of whatever length you want. That's the way I'll do in the future but for the video it was easier to see the process with the full line. Some good info though that gives some choices for people to determine if they want something like this.

I did this video talking to the camera as i unbixed it and used it but felt i was just rambling so did a voice over and didnt like that. So at the 9th hour the day before uploading i did a 3rd voice over and went with that one. I even had a second camera set up where you could see me and the device but cut it completely and just used the close up of my hands and the device. So it may look planned out but it really wasnt, i just kept tweaking and re-editing till i liked it. Good call on the dot trick.
This was super enlightening, Miles. Well produced. But $5 per marker!!! Crazy!!

I thought so to. Im sure theres a marker somewhere that fits for cheaper but then thats a whole adventure. Thanks for checking it out, im actualy watching your new r10 vid right now lol

You can drill the hole out to make it bigger and so your marker of choice will fit
Hey Miles, thanks for the review. You just saved me some money. I play the Srixon Q-Star. Test those puppies please. Cheers!

Thanks for watching.
Seems if the line keeps moving on the same ball, it would be an indication that the ball is more balanced. But I think all the balls are playable once you find the balance point. The salt water test doesn’t do that as well imo. Great job on the test. Appreciated

I agree with that.
You have to spin the ball until you can visually see that it stops moving. Don't rely on the solid green light. It takes longer than that to settle in sometimes. Once settled, you can gently touch the marker to the ball for a longer period. This gives you a nice solid line on the ball.

Agreed
I use this on all my balls. There is no need to keep double checking them because you can’t trick it. I have had 8 different lines on the same ball which meant that ball was 100% balanced. The ones where you get one line and 5 or 6 more right on top of it or a millimeter off line means that ball has an off center core and is not balanced unless rolled on that line. I mainly use Pro V1’s but you would be surprised how many of them aren’t centered especially being the “best of the best”

Agreed.
Thanks for the video. I recently bought one of these check-go pro's but unfortunately every ball I've tested found a different center line. I tested multiple brand new Pro V1X, TaylorMade TP5x and Vice Pro & Pro Plus. The process is relatively simple so I don't think I screwed that up. Could it be every ball I tested was perfectly balanced or is this gizmo useless?
@MilesMartinGolf
Жыл бұрын
Its not useless. It finds the exact balance point of each ball. So it wont tell you wich are good and wich are bad. Just the balance point.
@Sanholomc
Жыл бұрын
If it found a different center line on multiple spins the ball is balanced and you can mark the ball pretty much anywhere it keeps going back to the same line it's out of balance
I like the salt water test better it was more clear, but I've always wonder about it. It would be nice to test cheap balls to see what it says.
@MilesMartinGolf
2 жыл бұрын
I just assume if the premium one is bad then the cheap ones are probably worst.
Serious question, do you think ball manufactures provide the pros with these off balance or imperfect golf balls? Or do you think they test them thoroughly and only provide them with perfect golf balls, then sell these known imperfections to the general public knowing we wouldn't be able to tell the difference?

Well i have a box of left dot left dash tour issued pro v1s on the way so ill let you know soon, but yes i think true "tour issue" anything (like callaway triple diamond series) is either hand selected off the line. Just like im sure kevin van dam hand selects his strike king crankbaits. Or whatever he is paid to say he fishes these days lol.

I would also assume that all these balls even the bad ones, are "within tolerance". But i also know most iron manufacturers have a 2° tolerance for loft and lie. So you theoretically could have a 7 iron 2° weak and an 8iron 2° strong and they would be the same loft club and have different lie angles all in one set of clubs. Thats why club building is just as important as club fitting.
…aaaand the plot thickens. Lol. Another interesting chapter in “ball gate”. Oooh are you gonna test the Maxfli Straightfli ball?
@MilesMartinGolf
2 жыл бұрын
Im stealing #ballgate lol. Im gonna test something from maxfli for sure.
Something interesting I found - tp5 were the most imbalanced balls during my salt water test (aggressively spun to the imbalanced side) - during the check go spin test, the same imbalanced tp5 balls produced the most random lines I'm guessing it's because the tp5 balls were so heavily weighted towards one pole of the ball, during the check go spin test, the axis would simply originate from that imbalanced "pole" of the ball and thus create random lines. Thoughts?

I honeslty have no idea. I thought the spinner would always send the heavy side outward. But that was just my thoughts, i honestly dont know.
Didn't Maxfli and Top Flite measure their balls before putting the logo on? Then the logo showed the balance point for your drive and the putting so at least at those 2 things you were hitting it on the balance point.

@@MilesMartinGolf I played a top flight last night, thought I was going to break my driver! I don't know if they still do it but Maxfli used to put a spot on the ball, I should check before you spend your $$$
Once you hit the ball with a few drives does it chance the center point dynamic of the ball? Have you tested after hitting the ball a few times?

@@MilesMartinGolf Thanks for the response. I figured once you hit the gold ball, balance goes out the window. So unless you're rich enough to hit a new ball every hole, does it really matter? Maybe when you hit an unbalanced ball you might get lucky and balance it out. Thanks for the videos.
If you don’t like the line, let er stop spinning and put a dot somewhere on the equator (where the stripe would have been). Same as in immersion testing in salt water. Putt or drive with that dot straight up or down and the heavy spot will be in alignment with your shot.

I have had mine for over one year and it just stopped working properly. It comes up to speed but then gets out of balance.

Balanced vs unbalanced.
YOu do NOT have to use their marker. I just drilled the hole a little larger and now I can use ANY Sharpie I want to use, You just have to be smart enough to do the same thing to your spinner. I use a RED Sharpie to mark my golf balls and a Blue one to mark my wife's golf balls.
@MilesMartinGolf

Yeah i thought about that myself. Good to know.

If you don't want to drill out the hole, you can just hold the Sharpie so the tip is just above the lip of the cage at the side. I do this sometimes. Works just as well and it a bit easier to do it this way. Try it and let me know if it works for you as well. Don. @@MilesMartinGolf
I recently bought this device, figuring we all could use sime extra assistance in putting. however the platform that the ball sits on was a little "off center". But the box wasn't damaged so I continued to use it to find the exact ball equator line. The only thing the device did was to stain a couple of my expensive Titleist AVX golf balls with the indelible black ink in the pen that comes with the device . Personally I think this device is total f'n crap and a waste of time and money. I'm sure modern, brand-name golf balls are "tuned-in" to the correct putting line and don't require golfers to use a B.S. device like this to find the line. After using it twice, I threw it in the garbage...where it belongs!

I wonder how much the piece being off center effected the machine. That said i know for a fact if you hold the marker on the ball for more than a split second it will ugly up a ball pretty bad. Anything touching the ball will change how it sits. My biggest issue with it was how hard it is to get a clean line on the ball. Touch it to hard and it moves the ball of its axis, touch to light and you get an ugly morse code looking line.
Gimmick. US Americans will buy it.....
