I was just watching your videos on cutting bevels, and started thinking about how I’m struggling with glue. Then realized this video probably exists, and now I’m here

Greatest challenge is adding straps or velcro to armor. Attaching is so difficult for me....oh and sanding ANYTHING!

Great video! I didn’t know contact cement could get old, that helps me a lot. One of my biggest challenges is with hiding/filling seams in EVA foam builds. I’d love to hear your tips for that!

You can use Foam Mo for filling seams, or Kwik Seal. With Kwik Seal you just squeeze a little onto your fingertip and spread it on the seam. Keep it thin, and smooth it with water, and you shouldn't have to do much sanding.

Thanks! :) Yeah, I ran into that problem and a friend of mine ran into the same problem a couple weeks later. The life span seems to be somewhere between 8-12 months that it goes downhill. Perfect! Thanks for sharing your challenge. I added it to my list of videos to make in the near future! :)
Glue! Thank you!
Thanks!
Great video thank you! I'm working on my first cosplay project and so far I used contact glue for my eva foam pieces but I had to glue together some pieces edge to edge with an angle and the pieces didn't stick close together so there is a little gap and just a very thin line where the glue and pieces actually hold together... so I was wondering if I should fill out the gap with some type of other glue, maybe even from the back just to make sure the seams really hold together
This was actually helpful. I’m using Eva foam for the first time, and I used contact cement but I think I did it wrong (I think I didn’t use enough cause it didn’t stick everywhere.) I just tried it again, and then watched this video, and I realized I was an idiot and put them together immediately instead of waiting to dry first, so now I’m just hoping it still works ok, if not then I get to do it again.

My greatest challenge is making my seams as smooth as I would hope without having to sand or dremel down.

@@CosplayApprentice i only have a question left, and is that is possible to make the eva foam more stiff, bc i now that molding it make it keep the shape, but making it harder without applying multiple layers seems difficult... Is there a vid about it that i can use?

@@liamvautier944 We are actually going to be making a couple videos on that real soon, testing out ways to add make Eva foam have a hard outer shell. :) Depending on how stiff your talking, a lot of it can depend on the type of foam you are using :)

How well does High Temperature Hot Glue hold out in summer heat? Like I know normal hot glue gives up in car heat, but what about High Temp?
Glue ^^
Hello, im hoping you can help me out. I am making a foam sword, 3 layers of foam. I thinned the edges of the blade so much ive exposed the layer of contact glue between the foam, 1-3mm is exposed before transitioning to the middle foam layer. This glue layer is kind of plasticy and is flossing while sanding, leaving some textured flossy seam/edge. DO YOU HAVE Any tips for removing exposed glue etc??? How can i hide/minimize the damage from here??
Thank you

Hello and good morning my name is kevin and I'm.making starwars costumes with eva foam and I want to know what is the best glue to use or can you use pvc for cosplaying
Glue :)
GLUEEEE
maybe you can help me. If I want to glue regular craft foam to a sculpted styrofoam ball, what is the best glue? can I apply contact cement to just one side or is required to apply to both sides? The problem with applying to both sides will be to readjust the position. Thanks
@CosplayApprentice
3 жыл бұрын
I would be worried that contact cement might eat through the styrofoam. I am not sure if does or not but it might, so I would look into that. If it doesn't eat through it. You could probably apply it wet to the craft foam thicker than you would normally and then stick it to your styrofoam while the glue is still wet, this will allow you time to rearrange position a little and it will get the glue on both sides, the downside is it will take longer to set up(dry) completely. Depending on what you are going for, you could look at hot glue as an option as well. :)
How to stick two epe sheet together?
As a costume designer I make lots of stsrwars costumes and other props.
So far, nothing has worked to glue glitter fomarian together.. Hotglue, E-6000, G-S hypocement, superglue or diamond glaze.. all dries and pops appart. What's up with this.?.
Has any one tried resistol 911 glue on eva foam? Is there any low voc glue for eva? I got intoxicated by the solvent fumes fom the contact glue , the resins etc. I must find a safe way to glue the foam. Thanks and God bless

Thanks! To make sure I address the right thing when you say covering up the joints are you talking about when you glue two pieces together edge to edge and itv leaves that line along that joint and isn't smooth? Let me know if I'm on track an I'll add that to my list so I can make a video addressing that issue! :) You Rock!

Would you use hot glue on a project that will be worn outside alot? Would the sun and heat melt the glue?
@CosplayApprentice
3 жыл бұрын
For the most part unless it is really hot where you are just wearing it outside won't usually cause High temp hot glue to melt, but if you left it in a car on a hot day it would definitely ruin it. :/ Here is a great video showing that that Chris from lost wax put out kzread.info/dash/bejne/m5Wt05midtHSl7Q.html
