BEST GI FOR $200? ORIGIN DISCIPLINE EQUALS FREEDOM GI REVIEW

We regularly get questions from new students wanting to know what gi they should buy. The response is typically, "depends on how much you want to spend".
If you are willing to part with $200, this is the gi I would choose. The fabric, custom sizing, breathability, workmanship, and the fact it is made in the USA are all factors to consider for this gi.
I did not mention in the video, you can get the pants with the swivelock, or an elastic rope tie, or both. Also, the pants are the Pro Pants, which is an upgrade from the regular Comp Atleta gi.

Great review! Really cool modifications at 7:00! I was worried the little Juijiteiro at 3:34 was going to sneak in, take your back, and choke you out, ruining the whole take! Discipline equals not grounded!

Haha! Thanks Neil! When I saw him behind me, I thought "great, now he will do something extremely inappropriate"... I could see that look on his face... I was actually surprised at his level of restraint!
The, " DISIPLINE EQUALS FREEDOM!" "GET AFTER IT!" Sayings are Jocko Willink's. They were originally his sayings. He put those sayings on products he sells and because of his attitude, disipline and honest ways of explaining things...by taking action and doing your best in whatever you are doing that will help your actions succeed.

I have a hemp gi from flow. It’s the best gi I’ve ever owned. And I’ve trained for 14 yrs.
I love origin I have the same Discipline G GI all my GI pants have been changed to the origin pro the fly in the belt really help Instead of having to tie it like regular pant I'm a blue Blue belt turning for 3 years Origin Rash guards are some of the best that I've tried

It's an awesome gi. I have been using and abusing for a month. I still love it zero issue. But what I love the most is the customer service, they treated me well beyond how they could have to help me out. I will only buy from them. Great review also you got a new subscriber.

Im glad I found this video. I was on the fence about sizing and you have the same waist size as I do. Do you recommend I get the 34 waist size? Thanks in advance.

She cut some of the belt reinforcement area, compressed the material slightly, and sewed the elastic in. She is much more talented than me! I am uploading a long term DEF GI review today, you may want to check it out!
Since the gi is thin and breathable does it hold up well with people pulling and yanking on it?

How much how much shrinking did it have compared to a normal gi? I ask because I am between a2 and a3

It is amazing! Definitely my favorite gi, and the one I wear the most. The color is facing from washing it so much, but the fabric is in great shape. I will do a 1 year wear video when the time comes!
Does that plastic swivel lock belt ever pinch you?

It has never pinched me. This belt has never came loose either. I have no issues or complaints about the belt, other than it’s not IBJJF legal.
