Awesome job I like the looks of that tweeter. I just finished a pair of STV-649 and a pair of the ST-832 and I couldn't be more pleased with the sound.

nice what work/upgrades did you do to them? I don't use electrostatic tweeters anymore due to having to be right in front of them to really hear them, but they definitely sound great

Someday a want to be able to do stuff like that. But until then I will keep watching GOOD JOB !

Nice job!.. I just got the STV's 876's and I can't believe how good they sound but they have blown mids.. any advice on what to get to replace the mids?.. Do your mids there sound nice and clear?.. You got a new cross over?.. from where?..

That new crossovers cost just $100. You should buy a new pair of floorstanding speakers or new woofers and new box too for it.

See i see alot of people blowing these These sound pretty amazing. If your lackin bass hook up a subwoofer for a 2.1

Why is the subwoofer not moving

Im looking to purchase a pair of Fisher STV-890 and I am fairly new to being an audiophiliac. But all I currently have is a vintage turntable and a phono pre amp. Will this be enough for this speaker to work or will I need more equipment?

nice I actually got really lucky and got a pair of 690s for free but the crossovers are worn will need to be replaced. I like fisher because of how they look and nostalgia frow when I was a kid. The mid ranges and tweeters are not very good quality but they make a lot of bass. I wouldn’t pay more than 30 or 40 bucks max. I’d recommend testing them if you can before buying to see how they sound. Do you know the power output of your amplifier? It shouldn’t take too much to get the fishers going

These speakers in their original form look amazing. The sound/performance is horrible. Anything from Fisher in the 60s/70s was good but anything in its end cycle was bad but these are still a good looking speaker.

Is it better to build crossovers or buy them?

Now thats comment filtering if ive ever seen it.

Keep the drivers original if you would have kept the drivers originals and make improvements what you had to work with with crossovers might’ve been impressed PS magnet magnets make a big-time motor but we’re talking about fishers drivers you start changing your speakers not Fisher anymore in today’s standards Fisher is shit but back then in the day Fisher was the bomb do the research on Fish when people start to change different components, from the original manufacture what it really was in this case we talk about Fisher

David Carpenter the original mids and highs were crap. Anyone who knows anything about audio would know that. The new drivers I put in there were miles better. I put in better crossovers too.Fisher was decent until the 1980s when they were bought by Sanyo
