Copart. Buy two or three for anywhere from 200 to 2000 bucks total and build one car out of all of them. Or get lucky and score a good find. I got a 100 percent stock bugeye wagon for about a grand. Only problem is it's from up north, so the subframe is pretty rusty. Only mechanical issue is a slight coolant leak on the turbo. Probably from an old coolant line that aged poorly in the frigid north. One quarter panel has a good ding in it that totaled the car, but it's about as big as my thumb. It's no show car, but it's still pretty nice and makes for a good starter tuner.

If you want a pretty good 1st or 2nd gen subi that'll last (particularly blobeye), get a 2.5rs. Almost no one knows anything about this car from what I can find, they're usually not beaten the crap out of (from the ones ive found). They're all motor and ive seen examples lasting over 200k miles and still be running past without any major replacements (just brakes, some plugs, oil, just general stuff)

The 'Fellow Kids' is strong with this one...

As a person who still currently has a 04 wrx for a first car (bought for $3100), this is just not possible. A $3000 Wrx WILL have oil leaks, and diagnosing these oil leaks can get very very expensive and can be any number of things on the ej. Not to mention that cheap wrxs often have very high mileage, won’t have very much life left on the motor/tranny, and will definitely require other things to be fixed before it can become a reliable daily. Yes you can get a nice Wrx that has been well maintained. Will it cost $3000 or less? Absolutely not.

I had a crown vic that i loved so much for the few hours that i was able to drive it. I bought it for 500 and just beat the shit out of it and the transmission completely went out. I now own a 06 mazda speed 3 very fun car but the torque steer gets pretty wild sometimes.

I like the wagon version of the sti but yeah that was my exact idea

My first car is a MK7 Fiesta ST and i absolutely love it :D

I use to have a honda del sol and my dad hit a deer with it, still ran fine even with how tiny it was lol. I think he put almost 1,000,000,000 miles on it driving over 2-3 hours to work for 10 years. Great car.

The del sol came in a 1.5L for the S, 1.6 for the SI and 1.6 Vtec

thanks for the support! which car you like the most?

a couple things. the del sol didn't come with a dohc vtec in the states, just the sohc. which doesn't make 160hp. and the neon srt DOES come with a DOHC motor, not SOHC as stated, at 2.4l in either 215 or 230hp variants depending on its model year. though if I remember correctly it was more of a tuning boost than an actual change in something mechanical in the engine like a cam or valves. also the 2004-EOL trans had a LSD where the 2003 did not.

The neon srt4 makes 235 unless you get the 03 model. Oh and that's at the wheels. They actually make somewhere around 300 at the crank. Same with the caliber srt4. People dyno those stock at 285 wheel as well.

got my bugeye for 7k but without any rust and some new rims and suspensions and the pre owner put already a nice exhaust system on 7k was worth any penny

Finally someone says something about the srt4. I have had 5 of them and loved the hell out of it. I bought 3 for 3k or under. Well worth the money but like you said STOCK STOCK STOCK. if its modded it's been beat to hell.

@@IdealMediaChannel ideally you want as stock as possible, watch out for the 3rd gear grind (80% of them have it but only 1 I have ever owned did that) not a deal breaker but just something to know. Interior is very cheap but you buy it for the driving experience. Paint on the red and black cars I have always seen fade more than other colors. My last one had 210k on it and ran great still before I got in a accident in it. Other than that solid cars. Maintenance is cheap and modding them is pretty cheap too.

My personal picks you should include 1. Volvo S80 V8 - They made these from 2007-2009. They're the only V8s Volvo mass-produced. MY dad owns one and bought it for 5k, loving it. 2. Pontiac solstice / Saturn sky - Pretty interior, mx5 competitor, supercar company based off of it, YES.

I'm looking to buy a 2nd hand car in Australia, the purpose for needing a 2nd vehicle is the daily commute to work and I'm anticipating I could be adding about 15,000 miles to the odometer per year consisting of city & highway driving, but due to congestion, there would be a lot of stop-start driving (needs to be able to comfortably handle driving at speeds up to 75-80 miles per hour). Del Sol was actually my first car. Unfortunately because of the virus and the fact not many ppl know stick, no one was willing to teach me. I ended up selling it. Didn't even get to really drive it anywhere :(

Impossible to find one of the Subaru for under $5000 in 2021. Only one's I found are $5000 with 200k mile's, or in salvage yard's completely trashed.

in my country,Serbia if you are under 21 you can only drive car if there is a passanger that has drivers license for over 5 year, and first 3 years after getting a license you can only drive cars with 109hp or less :(

I got a 1990 crx for under 2000$ and it's the most fun I've ever had in a car for the price!!!
