I can vouch for the TL's. I owned an 04 Acura TL w only 130K miles on it from an auction for about 4.5K bucks. This is by far the best car I've ever had. Such a great horsepower, ridiculous comfort & fairly reasonable cost maintenance. I changed oils (engine and transmission) often and this car got me from bumper to bumper So Cal traffic to Nevada's Las Vegas, the iconic Grand Canyon, Utah, Arizona, Oregon, & all the way to Space Needle in Seattle WA with no problem, I used to also drive 8 hrs straight to North Cal every so often, drove to General Sherman in Sequoia. And I had such fun and enjoymetn from driving it. My car never went to a shop Thank God!). Honestly Most reliable car ever all the way to almost 250K miles when I sold it. I wish I still had it tbh & I hope the person who owns it now takes care of it as much as I did when I had it. I truly miss that car.

    1. Acura TL, 04-08 is their recommendation, 08-12 is good too. Reliable luxury sports sedan. Similar to the Infiniti G35/G37 and Hyundai Genesis Coupe in that they are affordable Luxury performance. In the 2000-2016 era everyone wanted to take on the BMW 3. 2. Honda Accord V6. Much cheaper V6 than TL. Acura TSX is cool too. 3. Scion tC and Toyota Celica and Toyota Corolla XRS. Very similar to the Acura RSX and Acura Integra and Honda Civic Si. 4. Honda CRV and Toyota RAV4. With America's garbage roads with potholes everywhere SUV's are a fair answer. 5. Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, kinda cool like the SN95 Ford Mustang and New Edge Mustang. Same brand that gave us the Pontiac G8 and GTO. 6. Lexus ES300

I’ve had several 6th gen accords, once you have a clean one you become addicted to its simple but clean body lines and timeless look. The aftermarket supports is there but there isn’t a lot of bolt on options for a substantial amount of power. The F23 and J30 are neither very fast, but very reliable. Th v6 only came in automatic, while the 4cyl came in both auto and manual. The auto transmissions pretty much leave the chat after about 280-340k, but the manuals last so long. There are several engine swaps that are almost direct drop in for this chassis, like the J32 6MT from a TL type S, as well as F20B, H23A, H22A etc. Overall great car that you will love and get attached to, as well as want to mod.

Back then I was broke. Now i own a g80 m3 competition that had around 80kms on it brand new. came with 3 years warranty. Came with the price of 200k aud. Love it since day 1. My plan is to keep it for 6 years then sell it because i dont wanna be paying for expensive repair prices. Hope one day you have enough money to get yourself your dream car!

Since you picked a Pontiac Gran Prix, here's another abandoned GM product: 2004-2007 Saturn Vue V6. For those years Saturn installed Honda 3.5L V6 engines (J35S1) and Honda 5 speed transmissions. There was even an AWD version. That's pretty much the same engine as in the Odyssey, Pilot, Ridgeline, V6 Accord, and Acura MDX. Lots of power and plenty of parts available. My Honda guy calls it the "Poor Man's CR-V". It even has more interior space than the CRV (but it doesn't come with the cool table). There are lots of these available for less than $3k. I paid $750 for mine, did about $1500 in maintenance (timing belt kit, water pump, shocks, brakes, etc.), and couldn't be happier.

I got a 5 speed 09 impreza 2.5i for 3500 last year. Best purchase ive made such a fun car. Id argue its even more fun than a WRX just not as useful on a track lol
