You can have your butter and eat it too. It is tragic that so many people have been brainwashed for so long that nature's natural wonderful healthy foods have been vilified in favor artificial, man-made, synthetic, life robbing, plastic margarine.

Thank you for this! There's no way I can afford to live on organic foods. I eat a lot of red meat, mainly pork with lots of fat on it, but unfortunately, it does come from farm raised pigs and I honestly thought it was still healthy til I came across this video :/ but your comment reassured me, thank you! 🤗
love my grass fed butter and olive oil. i think they are wonderful for your health.i used to work for "meals on wheels" years ago, and i noticed that ALL of the very old people (90+ yrs old) people had 3 things in common. they all ate real butter, which was not even kept in fridge, bacon and either drank whisky or sherry every day!

As long as I can see, the saturated fat may become detrimental to our health when consumed _along_ _with_ carbs. It's like a switch, you was getting your energy from carbs, now you'll get it from fats; but trying to keep both is not a good idea. This is so new for me, but I'm not afraid, I'll study more and more while slowly changing my diet... Thank you so much, Dr. Ekberg !

consists of six per cent of the omega-3 fatty acids (N-3) and 15 per cent of the omega-6 (n-6) - the two essential fatty acids - in the ideal ratio of 1:2, which is a huge benefit for the heart, as it balances cholesterol levels. This, in turn, reduces triglycerides or blood fat levels, and helps in keeping the heart healthy, experts said.

Thank you for all your videos, Dr. Ekberg. What if a person has rheumatoid arthritis? Can a low carb, high fat diet be bad ? I get confused because I've read that saturated fats can trigger inflammation. Keep up the great work :)

What do you think about avocado oil?
Are there nutritional value in imported foods such as avocados? Thanks
Is grass fed organic butter still healthy despite being pasteurized milk?
You said that it is okay to eat lots of saturated fats as long as one keeps the carbs down, because then the saturated fats get burned as fuel. While I appreciate the knowledge and the think the keto diet is interesting, I don't see how I can go low carb yet (I love fruits, grains, honey etc too much). If I eat a moderate amount of carbohydrates, how should my fat consumption look? Does it matter if I eat more saturated fats vs mono- vs polyunsaturated fats on a moderate/high carb diet? An answer would be highly appreciated!
I enjoy your videos very much, you are very knowledgeable and have a wonderful way of explaining your points. Although I am a bit confused as why olive oil is categorized as a saturated fat. As far as I know it is only 14% saturated fat and the rest are monounsaturated fat (73%) and polyunsaturated fats. Thanks again for your very informative and helpful videos.

What about Sesame Oil @Dr.Sten Ekberg
Hi, are unsaturated fats more easily digested by someone without a gallbladder? Thank you.
I’m wondering If organic grass fed butter need to be kept in the refrigerator?
Dr. Ekberg, I collected beef fat after making bone broth and decided to make my eggs with it instead of olive oil. But I get consistent mild headaches when I do. I usually have 2 eggs that are soft cooked in low heat. Is this too much saturated fat at once?
Hi Sten. On the subject of fish, I buy frozen fish, which is frozen fresh at source and is often much cheaper. Is this good to eat? as fish sold at a fishmonger is allegedly already 7 days old before you buy it, hence the fishy smell. What is your advice please? Thanks
@drekberg
5 жыл бұрын
I think your perception is spot on. Unless you live someplace where you can be provided local fresh fish, frozen can often be your best bet. Try to get the smaller fish. Smaller fish like cod, sole, flounder, etc plus salmon is usually not so polluted.

I'm located in west Africa where palm oil, palm kennel oil and shea butter is a staple on cooking ... are these are good fats to use in place of olive oil at least? Coconut oil is already a staple

You mean for the poly unsaturated fats? Eggs (pasture raised, organic) contain good amounts of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. Fish and some algeae also contain lots of omega 3 fatty acids. So eggs, fish and algae are some options. Grains as well for omega 6 fats if you can tolerate gluten.
Hello dr ekberg Please talk about the brown fat im aelementary graduate im trying to follow some speakers talk about brown fat that would help my diabetis gone it would be very hard for me to follow their terminology please help me straight what to eat to promote my brown fats,or you are already discussing it through the foods you teach so diabetic people convert their foods intake into ketons? How about cold pressed mustard oil?
Do you think butter good for endometriosis??
I tried peanut butter, but it gave me immense allergies, so I stopped eating it and switched it with cheese, natural yoghurt for quick protein. Be careful with seeds as well especially they tend to get mold easily. I'll be buying seeds, brazil nuts, walnuts and cashews in lower amounts than 1kg, preferably 200g so it doesn't last long and has less chances of getting mold
My butter (New Zealand, all natural butter, Anchor brand) has a small amount of trans fats, which you said is to be avoided completely - and I'm very confused. Can anyone please give guidance on this?
Hi Doc, its confusing, is cholesterol and plaque one and the same thing?
How about Ghee, clarified butter, the white grainy fat with nutty flavour
At 6:00 and 6:30 Dr. Ekberg speaks about E. V. Olive oil as if it is a saturated fat that can be used as fuel, what's up with that? Can the body use mono unsaturated fats from olive oil as fuel as well or was that a mistake?
Is coconut meat better than coconut oil.l have 3 trees. I drink its water and mutch the nutty meat. With x v olive oil l had it daily for 3 months my ldl went up from 115 to 147 and hdl 48 to 49.6. So l stop using xvo oil.
Olive oil has a strong flavor. I find it unpalatable, like a medicinal tea or dried plums. Impure, dry-rendered lard in contrast has less flavor, and it tastes like normal food.
What about Crude Palm Oil? The one that is still red - has not been processed to remove color, smell or odor I.e. not refined. Is it healthy?
What fish would be good? Is cod and sardines low in foodchain?
I have tried keto and I liked it but I hate the constipation and bad breath, any ways that doing keto without that 2 negative side effects?
Dear Dr. I've a question here. We can eat carbs alone like bread or rice. They can be a meal. But how to eat saturated fats as a meal? I mean eating butter alone? Or olive oil? I mean plz give some examples of eating these fats. If we minimise the carbs what and how do we eat to fill stomach!!!!

Why you are promoting E.V. Olive Oil? It has a small amount of omega-6 which is good but it is full of omega-9? What is your opinion on omega-9?
Sir, Thanks. I have been seeing many videos on 'saturated' fat (bad), and 'unsaturated fat' (good), but not able to see which one makes HDL high and LDL down. Some place it says 'saturated' is good, so confused. Also dark chocolates contains more 'saturated' fat, Kindly clarify. thanks
@drekberg
5 жыл бұрын
Saturated fat is very healthy as long as it is from a clean natural source. Even though saturated fat can increase cholesterol, it improves the healthier cholesterol. It is not as simple as HDL vs LDL because there is good and bad LDL. It is more about the size and "fluffiness" of the cholesterol molecule. Saturated fats increase the size and fluffiness of the cholesterol which is a good thing. Check out this video on fats: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dJxoqJeho7jbdtY.html

Thank You Tina V. You're right it does get confusing. We can't over analyze things either though. The most important thing is to eat real food and support the body in every way we can. Eat better, move better, feel/think better (meditate). In this modern world we can never avoid toxins completely. The best we can do is avoid what we know and strengthen the body so it can eliminate the junk. Also we have to stop worrying. we do our best and then we relax. 😄
