This game actually does a pretty good job on having solid characters for beginners in comparison to other apps.

I know I don't need this content because I'm a veteran at this point, but I wanted to say, as you are the guy with what I'd say probably the most prominent or well known Pokemon Masters youtube channel, thank you for making these videos for new or returning players. I hope they help those that need them.

I cannot stress this enough. Please prioritize Xerneas. This pokemon carried my F2P life for so long

@@darrkcrystal7080Everyone is saying "but you said she was a must EX in this vid" but forget that video was made two years+ ago. The game hasn't released EX skyla and just stayed that way for that amount of time. There have been and will continue to be more units released that can outperform Skyla. If you want to get an accurate tell of where a unit stands in particular you have to compare them to every single other unit in the game regardless of rarity. Rarity shouldn't even matter cause if you say she was a must EX then you should have her at 6 star meaning its fair game at that point. At her strongest in comparison to every unit in the game she is just okay-ish. Shes not unusable, but she's not the must EX as she used to be

@@SmauugKamui She might not be a "MUST EX" nowadays but she's still the busted support, tank and healer she's always been for newer players who definitely don't have all the stuff that has outperformed her Her, Xerneas and Zamazenta should definitely be the top priority supports for F2P

I think people underrate Rosa a lot. That free 6ex was a great help for stage clearing. And she might be the next unit to get an upgrade since unova is probably the next villain arc. Even if Rosa got a new alt and lodge pair, I’m still a little surprised she didn’t get her power up during anniversary

Rosa's age definitely has gotten to her with how basic her base kit is and her grid didnt really help that. She'd need a pretty massive upgrade to bring her to a point where people can bring her without needing too much extra help. Shes just too slow especially for a unit who has a three gauge move that she wants to use for recovery and refreshing the move gauge is nice but when its the ONLY effect your move can do i think people would rather have straight speed buffs instead. But I do hope they can figure out a way to help her out since it'd be nice using her more often then just LG when I need someone to just be there

@@SmauugKamui one might have said the same thing with Cynthia and Karen, and both of them got almost completely fixed. The units had a common problem: no sync nuke. This problem especially impacted Karen, who needed to sync. While rosa does not have the same problem, she does have an easily solvable problem: needing more worthwhile buffs. Some easy fixes would be giving crit squad or berserk bunch to her sp atk buffs. Her trainer move could also have defense or speed buffs. Or they could give her endurance or healthy healing, team defense entry buffs, or some sync buffs like recuperation or adrenaline to make her sync more useful.

@@untitled6427 Yeah I agree even All Ramped Up (SpA+1) to her XSpA All would be a big help, reducing her maxing to 2 actions as opposed to 3 and removing the need to roll for MPR lol. That would only be 1 node, the other three could be more impactful for her tanking, so I could definitely see Rosa becoming a legit unit 🤷🏽‍♀️

I disagree just a little on the last part. I think Kahili and Siebold have powerful and easy to set nukes, very useful for some legendary arenas like Moltres and Tapu Bulu. But, yeah, their dps just isn't good. I would also recomend to do Hop and Sycamore first from the Legendary Adventures. Even though they haven't got their buffs yet, they're still a great tank combo.

Thank you for doing this as it is difficult to see where to approach your gameplay in this Pokémon mobile game.

"Skyla is okay-ish" For a long time she was one of the most-used units for players clearing master mode with full points, from what data people could get. Maxing defense and speed, carrying potions, and having flinch on a 1 gauge move makes something of a joke out of any fight that leans largely towards physical threats.

Next to Sycamore and Skyla. Getting 1 copy of Serena from free tickets will give you a team that can take you through the entire of battle villa to secure those free gems every rotation. Then when you skip they can clear the final rounds

Man!! Meylene is so good... M waiting for good grid... Not even really great grid... Only good grid and she will be there.... Like she lowers defense, she heals crazy good in fighting zone... Sets crits buff atks like , m really really hoping dena do good to her man

As a day one player, I think that the disrespect on skyla is kinda undeserved. She's not a top tier support nowadays, but she's still stupidly powerful compared to the majority of f2p supports (and even some of the 5 star supports, like that useless obstagoon)

There are stages where they limit you to certain Types and/or Regions, although you could still try Offtyping and/or Offregion when you're a veteran who's built enough. There's also the Physical and Special split which matter in some stages which prioritize the split even more than Type weakness.

You can get 1 free from the kanto trio by completing victory road in champion stadium. Hard call on which one SS Blue is best. If you have Sycamore to tank and Skyla to potion, maybe red can clear lots of content that rewards free gems so you can get more stuff

I still think it is worth it to summon as the banner has a really good chance for the featured units. You may be able to get a copy from victory road, but all three are more usable at 2/5.

What are the meta characters

out of all the legendaries I feel liek silver feels super weak. I have him exed but he just doesnt do enough damage most of the time. Maybe I have a really bad grid

Silver definitely needs a sun team to do damage out the gate. If you send him in with two supportd that dont give him sun it'll take a decent amount of time for him to do damage. I use him with Lyra and SS Morty and my grid has him with both solar flares, interia and ramming speed and he rips into everything.

Yeah Silver's moves don't do a ton of damage, but he's still good and he burns and sets sun himself so he's very valuable With that said, his Solar Flare syncs are MONSTERS (although you need someone else to set the sun because his own doesn't reach the sync) As well as super effective up next Solar Beams that destroy grass-weak stages

Is there a way to easily tell who can tank. That’s the only problem im having. Im a light spender.

You can sort your units by their defense stats so that shoudl held you decide whos your best bet at taking a decent hit. But supports are the ones you want to be tanking since the highest defense stats are given to support type pairs. Thats why a small electric dog has a higher defense stat then a rock snack lmao

@@Hennessey_Hokage You can also go into your unit filters to show you who your supports are. You can easily tell tho in the pairs info page or team menu by looking for the icon under their rarity, supports have the heart icon which is what you're looking for

You can preview how the stats of a unit will look like at max level, but unfortunately it only works for units you don't have already. If you want to know if a unit will be good, stat wise, look for those tools that do the same previewing like pmtool or whatever it's called.

@@catalyst539 I like Mewtwo too, he's probably the strongest special striker you can get for free, he does need good supports to buff him but you get Xerneas for free too and Liza if you don't have Sabrina (which I do at 3/5 for the full grid). He clears out so much content for me even without type advantage. Now all I need is for these legendaries' special events to come back so I can start getting them to Ex.
