I have no access to an outdoor grill, so I made this on my stove with my cast iron griddle. Let me tell you, the garlic powder is a winner!! It's like having grilled cheese on garlic bread.

I love this method. I really like that you took the time to research cheese combinations. As if it wasn’t possible to kick it up another notch, I would make a cheeesy southwestern style omelette and throw it in between the Texas toast one shown in this video right after it’s removed from the grill & let it absorb the southwestern flavors.

Dear Kent and Shannon, I live in the South of England. You’ve brought me back to un-enamelled cast iron skillets. They are hard to find in the U.K., but you can buy Lodge on Amazon. They are much more expensive here, but I suppose that is import duty and shipping. I’ve bought the 8” and 10”, sanded them down as per your instructions and did 4 bakings with flax seed oil made here in Sussex. Thank You. My oven is an Aga, (cast iron still made in England). She is 12 years old and her name is Big Bertha! You do almost all the cooking in the ovens, but the skillets are fantastic for that. I made “Toad in the Hole” last night and it literally fell out of the pan, amazing! On the subject of grilled cheese, I like to make “Welsh Rarebit” with very mature Cheddar (Davidstow is excellent) and sprinkle Worcestershire sauce on the cheese before cooking, delicious. I loved the wild flowers. They are not the same as ours, though the thistle looked like our blue Cornflower. Do you have any horses, and if so could we meet them? I go riding once a week in the Ashdown Forest. It is an immense privilege. Anyway warmest wishes to you both and keep well.

I am so excited to have found your channel. Since we don't have a grill, I started using a cast iron skillet. 2 sliced of American cheese, handful os shredded mild cheddar and parmesan. Thank you for the recipe.
