Its easy to set up and prints perfectly. Haven't had any trouble .
You probably found out already that after the setup the ink levels are a bit lower because the tubes that go to the printhead are filled up so you can empty the remaining ink.

What is your take on the Maintenance Box cleaning, replacing, etc.?
I think this is the best home printer from epson. I'm in between white and black version of 2850/2856

In the user manual it says to keep it for topping up later,. Once it was initialised in about 10 minutes, I topped them up.
Any idea how to keep the ecotanks from drying out and clogging up if not used for an extended amount of time? Can the ink containers be removed and the remainder flushed with something like rubbing alcohol?

We have a similar model for years now and have never experienced drying out or clogging up. The back is used regularly. The colors are not used for months sometimes.

Does it print cardstock ie birthday card etc..? How thick the paper could be used?

Yes it will print Cardstock.. but max size A4.. I think it can do upto 160 GSM, but there is no mention about it in the website so not sure.thank you
