The dry red eye syndrome can last into the next day sometimes. I like Rohto they have some kind of menthol that really give a rejuvenating feel.

I am 75 years old and I have suffered from acute dry eyes (at night) from the time I was around 30. I have tried many brands of drops with very limited different results between them. Being affected with irritable bowel syndrome, I have gradually removed many foods from my diet. It is when I stopped consuming milk products that my eyes suddenly stopped being dry to my amazement. Since then, I have been able to link the condition to various foods which I avoid. Nowadays, I seldom use my bottle of drops.

I have dry eyes at night due to year round allergies. I am allergic to dust. I have found cold compresses and drinking lots of water helps. I think the eyes swell at night. My post nasal drip gets worse at night. I have tried all conventional allergy treatments with very minimal help. The drugs make the eyes drier.

Its amazing.. i am over 50, am far-sighted and have an astigmatism.. i noticed for long time i had blurry and hazy vision.. i could not look at a computer screen, my phone or even a restaurant menu without squinting. i was frustrated thinking that it was just a limitation of my eye issues.. so, i would wear my prescription glasses all the time to compensate , and i hated it! i then tried the refresh and systane eye drops for a week or so, and i could not believe the improvement! it was night and day.. i now hardly ever wear my prescription glasses or squint. it has made all the difference in my vision..

I recently had an eye exam and the Dr. said my eyes were healthy but extremely dry! I told her I use Similasan eye drops. She said for me not to use thIs because there are ingredients that are not good for my eyes. She gave me a sample of Blink geltears. My daughter suggested the Refresh, which you have recommended. We live in a dry climate which doesn’t help plus I had Lasik surgery years ago. I listened to your video and trying to figure out which one is best to use. You didn’t mention Blink, so I may not be using that. I try to go the homeopathic route but the drops I was using were not working! Thank you for your input!

I have sjogren's syndrome and have tried many eye drops over the years, including some autologous ones made by the blood bank here in Australia. Unfortunately the autologous ones had a very high saline content and I could not use them on a regular basis. Liquids seem to actually dry the eye in most cases, although I have tried Hyloforte recently and they don't seem to dry. I always return to Visco-tears gel by Novartis (U.K.?). Usually in the 30 pack. The tube has some preservative. The carbomer seems to work fairly well to retain moisture and they are soothing. They are also cheaper than some if I buy online in bulk.

My wife has that disease too. Has had it many years. The last 3-4 years it has taken its toll on her. Fatigue, loss of teeth, and eye problems. The worst being a macular edema. Had surgery for it Jan 2020. Still has to get a shot in the eyeball about every 6 months for swelling. Then that eye is useless for at least a week. Wife is 73 YO. Best of wishes from Texas.

I have had severe dry eyes for the majority of my adult life. I have personally tested at least 30 of the top brands of eye drops from both the USA, Europe, and Japan, and there is only ONE brand that I believe is "the best," which is *Systane Ultra.* After using every kind available, I have found that only the non-preserved ones are good for long-term use, and all of the "secret ingredient" varieties are nothing more than regular drops with additional chemicals, or simply adding greasy substances like mineral oil. I have also tried every steroid, antibiotic, drug, and "cure" for dry eyes on earth, including using my own blood plasma, but nothing works better than Sustane Ultra. Take it from someone who uses them every 10-minutes, 24/7, for the past 20-years.

I don't know where you live, but see my comment about Visco tears gel. the 30 pack has no preservative. I buy them online in Australia. they may be UK made. I tried the serum ones, too salty. I have had drainage ducts cauterized. they blur some, but last so much longer because of the carbomer.

Hello, I came across your video because I’m looking for information regarding post op eye drops options for pain in eyes after pterygium surgery. I found some information about corneal neuralgia and I’m worried this is something that is happening due to sensitivity to light and wind after 1 month post op. Is there any eye drops that you recommend?

Hello Dr. Tai I am on a low budget. Can I use no tear baby shampoo to wash my eye lids because I have been diagnosed dry eye and infection with my eyelids. The Dr. prescribed eye drops for me and also recommended that I use diluted no tear baby shampoo for my infected eye lids until I see him again in a month. I googled this and read conflicting reports about using the shampoo for my infected eyelids. What are your thoughts please?

I recommend using artificial tear eye drops that are preservative free whenever possible. There are OTC preservative free drops that come in multi use bottles. The brands I reviewed in this video all make preservative free drops, and you can also check out this video for the brand I carry in my office 👉 How to Pick the Best Optase Dry Eye Drop for You? | Complete Guide | Eye Surgeon Explains kzread.info/dash/bejne/q4CBrcqmoN2Xlps.html

I have moderate to severe dry eyes which have worsened as I've aged. I've tried just about every lubricating drop out there: Refresh, Genteal, Biotrue, Optase.....and that's just in the last couple of years. The list goes on and on. They are all helpful...until they arent. Usually what happens is after a while they all causing severe itching (not just after application, but as the day or night wears on). It's mostly in the medial corners of my eyes. And the gel ones not only ooze out onto my cheeks while I sleep, but glue my eyelids shut. They are soothing for a while though. My opthalmologist recommended Systane Zaditor for the itching. However, it doesn't help much AND it contains BAK preservative which makes me uncomfortable due to its controversial toxicity. Any recommendations?
