It would be nice to have written directions too.

You did such a good job explaining the build except for the floor pieces. You didn’t say anything about the angle, or why you did that as separate floor pieces instead of cutting the angle and doing it as one sheet. I feel like that’s the most crucial part of this whole build. How did you measure the angle for that slant? How long are those pieces? How did you secure it? Why are there little triangles on the bottom?

I have to make more nest boxes because of that darn chicken math. And I have two sheets of plywood and this is the most BRILLIANT basic plan, I need a roll away system as I'm tired of cracked and poopy eggs. Thank you so much!

I personally would have the hen entrance on the back. The chickens are going to poo all over the egg shelf.

Why didn’t you just cut the 19 inch sections smaller with your keg instead of making extra cuts with the table saw?

My husband is doing the same basic plan you used with the exception of putting a slanted "roof" so they can't roost on top of it and he is making the holes for them to enter where you have the back wall so i can mount it to my wall and the eggs roll out back into the storage room of my chicken house . We will be building a much longer set of these when i get my new babies in May. 150 of them ! yikes. lol Yours looks great . I look forward to following for more ideas.

Sorry, but was it mentioned or did I miss it, what thickness of plywood did you use. You mentioned 4 x 8 a couple of times but i never heard how thick. Thanks for the great idea.

Not sure why this didn't pull up in search 5 days ago. I might just start my nesting boxes all over. Thanks!

Great video, it’s nice to see young people living their dreams. The wife & I are stuck in the 9 to 5 world with 5 more years to retirement, but when we do, we plan on homesteading…we can’t wait

What a wonderful instructional video. Since you gave the measurements, I don’t even need written plans!
