So far my partner and I have really enjoyed Sagrada, Dice Miner, and Tyrants of the Underdark. Still early days playing games and finding where tastes align!

Honeycomb Cavern (multiplayer solitaire and the only roll and write I really enjoy), Battle Line (head to head), and So Clover (co-op). Also, we can play all of these on the coach, although Battle Line is pushing it.

So Clover is a great one. Even though it says 3-6, it can easily be played at 2 as a more low key activity and it’s a lot of fun still.

Some of my favourites to play on date nights: 2p - Carcassonne, Splendor Duel, Ohanami 4p - Monikers, Ra, Space Base

I agree with Castles of Burgundy. My wife and I played it on a date night. I let her get the mine in the first round. 9 months later our 3rd child, Stefan, emerged from his mothers womb.

These kind of videos are great. When I was new to the hobby I spent more time than I care to admit watching as many of these sort of videos as I could find to learn about as many games as possible, including many from this channel.

Awesome! Glad you liked it. Do you enjoy the format? I'm considering doing more videos that are broken down into fun categories instead of gravitating always towards Top 10 style lists. It also allows revisiting the same concept again on following years because you can just change categories. But I know people love ranked lists. So I'm curious what others think!

@@AllYouCanBoard I think both formats have their merits but I do like this one. I mean, what other channel is doing a best board game for fjord lovers?! More fjord content is always appreciated. And yeah there is something to be said for top-X lists getting a little samey if repeated, but this format lets you highlight the games you want to by creating some arbitrary category for them rather than having to shoehorn em into a top-X.

My putting it all out there would be The Quest for El Dorado. The game is so intuitive and easy to teach, yet it's a legit entry into our hobby. But my wife and I love CoB, great pick

@8:57 codenames duet is a great idea. So that way, you can weed out people who don’t match your vocab level or vice versa! 😂 If I played Codenames Duet before getting married I might still be single - because we definitely aren’t on the same brain frequencies. I would recommend Pandemic instead. That way you can learn about how the other person communicates and if it works for you. 😂

MicroMacro would be a good date activity, because you are working together on an easy to understand task. Also you can be at times right next to each other searching the picture. For someone that you already know likes games, then Obsession might be a good choice, because they might be a fan of Downton Abbey and a part of the theme is courting.

LOL I don’t think I would ever go on a date to impress someone @4:08 I guess my husband would bake me cool things - maybe it’s a male thing. Like male birds flashing around their feathers or building nests.

Idk about COB. I mean, if playing board games at COB level is a criterion to going to the next level, I guess? At which point, shouldn’t you just find an already established gamer? Then you can go and be yourself. None of this warm-up stuff. If I were dating, I’d play simple and short games. Don’t you have other things to do on a date? ;) I’d recommend Cascadia. It’s not hard, it’s easy on the eyes, and you can still talk while playing.

Fjords is a much simpler version. There aren’t multiple scoring conditions and it’s much more straightforward. I love both games though and they definitely have a similar feel to them.

Only game I ever managed to hook my wife to is Disney's villainous. Incredible game

good call! The Star Wars one is even better, I think, but know that Villainous is a MEAN game--lots of blocking and frustrating your opponents. Which, again, some people would love on a date but others not so much
