    Thank you! As a CPST, most people have no idea that the lower anchors have a weight limit of 65 pounds combined weight of baby and seat in almost all vehicles. Thank you very much for mentioning that in this video as it is super important! I always feel bad having to try to talk parents out of using LATCH for their big kids when it’s the way they feel confident using.

    I’ve had the cybex Sirona for like 5 months now with my toddler and loved it....until I saw this video read the comments and just realized I won’t be able to use the twist function in the forward facing position 😟. Also you can’t use the swivel with a newborn since it’s super upright when twisted to face the parent

    I’m in love with Cybex products and the Sirona S seems very innovative and safe. I would loving having all this in an infant car seat as it’s more convenient to grab the baby a put it on the stroller and go. My only concern is to buy the Cloud then Cybex launches a new infant car seat that has more safety, technology, and convenience features.

    Update: We now own both the Cybex Sirona S and the Nuna Rava. I would only recommend the Cybex Sirona S if a) your car has a short back seat AND you plan to use a convertible seat from birth or b) you need the swivel function to allow an older child to access the center seating position. The Nuna Rava is way easier to install, and it gets a more secure install. The Cybex Sirona S will fit in the same amount of space front to back as a Nuna Pipa infant seat installed with the base. It fits at newborn recline without adjusting the front seat. If you adjust the recline you can also fully extend it without adjusting the front seat. Original Post: I just want to say that the Nuna Rava is excellent if you have limited front to back space. We have it in a Ford Fiesta (their smallest car), behind the driver. With the leg room extended and rear recline 5 (most upright) it takes up about the same amount of space front to back as the Nuna Pipa infant seat installed with the base. Without legroom extended it fit comfortably enough at recline 2, but most comfortably at 3. So in a very small car like mine, you would probably still need an infant seat. For reference I am 5'2" but my legs think I am 5'7" lol. I sit almost as far back as my husband, who is 5'7" with average legs. I am always the driver and my husband is always the passenger. We were originally going to get a Nuna Exec for this baby, but now that Cybex has released the swivel version of the Sirona here, we are getting that instead. I am sooooo geeked out that its finally available in the states.

    @@srejababu1787 I got the Cybex about 8 months ago. I like it a lot. The Swivel feature is really really nice to put in and take out the baby (really the only major feature to me). Now that sometimes I put my daughter facing forward once in a while when I drive by myself, it is great I don't have to reposition the entire seat. I see why people say it does move a tiny bit when install but it doesn't concern me much as I believe it is secure enough in a crash. I believe I used a coupon to get it so it was cheaper (like 10-20%) back then. Hope it helps.

    Hi. I need to buy 2 car seats and I would prefer something my baby can be in until he is 10 like the 4 ever type of seats. My kiddo will be 1 yr in a week and he is already 31.5 inches tall but he is pretty slim maybe about 20-22lbs. What seat do you recommend? Of course safety is number 1 but also his height and he is good for falling asleep on a short card ride so something that will allow his head to rest safely.

    Hi Sylvia. I own a a Ford Fiesta. We have both the Nuna Rava and Cybex Sirona S. Both fit well front to back, but the cybex can be used from birth in such a short back seat, while the Nuna would still need an infant seat.

  • @megankuchta9145

    @megankuchta9145

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@ChristopherAlanWilliams they both have draw backs. I previously would have said the Nuna hands down, but I recently switched back and found that for my 3 YO in my fiesta I prefer the Cybex. However in an SUV or even a large sedan I would prefer the Nuna because it gets a more secure install, and doesn’t need to be reinstalled as frequently. Also the Nuna is way easier to install correctly. Also if you child has a very large head, you will find the head rest and harness in the Nuna fit better. The Cybex sits much lower, so there’s less bonking the child on the car when putting them in, and as mentioned by someone else, the swivel is a major back saver (it’s also great for abdominal separation aka diastitis recti).

    For the nuna rava- if you install it in a car with down sloping seats, even at the most reclined position of the carseat, it is still quite upright. What are your thoughts about wedging a rolled towel/pool noodle underneath the carseat to fix the angle issue?

  • @MagicBeansVideos

    @MagicBeansVideos

    We always suggest checking with CPSTs before using accessories. You absolutely do not want a towel under there according to most recent guidelines but the pool noodles are commonly used by CPSTs for angle adjustments. As for how exactly to do that, I'd definitely suggest reach out to the experts at your local fire or police station.

You can struggle on install depending on the type of car you have, it actually doesn't fit every make/model, you should be able to find that info on the site. • @SF-pe3qf

    @SF-pe3qf

    4 жыл бұрын

    Courtney Shanley the Britax will be easier to install (Clicktight is amazing!) and will last longer both rear facing (higher weight limit) and forward facing harnessed (taller harness slots - remember a forward facing harness is outgrown by the limits OR when kiddo’s shoulders are above the highest harness setting!). Both of these seats make annoying, bulky boosters so they are great in harnessed mode but most parents end up buying a dedicated booster when the time comes to switch to something a little better for older kids. So don’t expect these seats to be the last car seat you ever need to buy. But this problem applies to just about every all-in-one car seat!

    I have a question about comfort. The Cybex definitely appears to be the most convenient for loading and safety but does it recline as far back as the Nuna model? Melanie Schirmer many kids are actually happier sitting more upright in the car once they’re able to sit independently! That could be your problem if your 2yo is still using her infant car seat, and/or kiddo is squished. Upgrading to a convertible and letting kiddo sit more upright should hopefully help

    MySottovoce Hi there. I own both seats. I would only recommend the Cybex Sirona S if a) your back seat is very short front to back AND you plan to use a convertible from birth or b) you need the swivel function to allow an older child to access the center seating position. The Cybex is harder to install and doesn’t get as tight. It is still secure ( less than an inch in any direction at the belt path), but there’s a definite learning curve for the belt locking mechanism. The Nuna has a rock solid install, which can usually be achieved the first time, just by pressing the seat down. Also if you plan to do any air travel the Nuna is FAA approved and the Cybex is not. Even in a Ford Fiesta both seats can be fully extended without adjusting the front seats.

    Hi there - I'm between the one4life and the nuna rava specifically because they are both flame retardant free. My question is whether it's really worth it to buy a convertible with booster like the one4life. I've heard from several people that the booster may not actually fit my kiddo when it comes time to use it. Why is that? (It'd obviously be a bonus if we can use the one4life for longer, but honestly, this may sound silly, but the only reason I'm considering one4life as opposed to the other three britax clicktights with safewash is because it has cup holders!) Thoughts?

  • @SF-pe3qf

    @SF-pe3qf

    4 жыл бұрын

    Both are equally safe as long as kiddo is within the limits. Personally I get tired of lugging around that heavy infant seat early on and I’ve switched as early as 4-6 months. Once baby is able to sit in a stroller seat out of the car instead of car seat/bassinet I’m ready to switch! I’ve found that my kiddos are more comfortable and prefer to sit a little more upright than the infant seat allows by 6-8 months. But really you can switch anytime before baby reaches the Mesa height or weight limit (as long as they are within Knox minimum weight). When baby reaches the height or weight limit of Mesa (usually height first) you must switch. -CPST
