😅Funny story. My parents sold my first car back in the day. About two weeks after the car was parked in front of our house. The police showed up looking for the driver since the car was used to rob a liquor store. Thank God my dad was smart enough to write up a note signed by the new owner and himself stating he was no longer the owner. Needless to say, I still have paperwork for cars I’ve sold throughout the years “just in case!”

I got a parking ticket from California on a car I sold in Arizona where I have lived since 2019 … ?? What I don’t own that car and sold it two years ago ? I had to get to dmv in California they told me cities sometimes ? Don’t bother to do checks ( state of California had it was in arizona) … the city was hoping I would pay a parking ticket ? I had to show proof of sale ( on line vroom helped me out ) all fixed ! What a pain !

When my granddaughter was little, she stayed with my husband & me for an extended time. At 3 years old she would help me load & unload the dish washer and process the laundry! Then she would help fold smal towels and washcloths. They're never too young to learn.

From my mom, the “one touch” rule: If it’s in your hand and it has to go somewhere, put it there now. Don’t lay it down so you have to pick it up (touch it) later. That way, no clutter accumulates. Except from kids who haven’t learned that yet. But they will! Kudos for raising kids who do what they’re told without giving you any guff. They will be SO much more pleasant to be around for the rest of their lives. ❤

Ah, you state teaching kids to help with household tasks makes YOUR life easier - yet, for the record - you are also making THEIR life easier in the future! When parents do everything for the kiddos, the kids grow up to be inept household managers. Like, uh, me. 😢. Doing laundry, tidying up, paying bills - these need to be taught! LOVE your attitude 👍🏻 (My niece caught a fellow college dorm resident cleaning his laundry with fabric softener! How sad!)

When I've hurt myself and had nerve damage, it took a looooong time to recover, longer than I expected. I believe the extremities take longest to recover and heal. I know you don't want to hear this, but I'd bet on 2 years. I also believe that if biking-vibrations hurt your finger, most other sports you like may as well. Christine--it may be time to find something else, even for just a season. This could be the start of a brand-new adventure for you! ❤

The best idea that I've ever come up with to help the closet clutter is to keep a separate hamper/basket under my hanging clothes. Whenever I get dressed and decide I don't like how it looks or feels, right into the basket it goes. If I don't like it today, I'm not going to magically like it tomorrow or next year. As for the finger, my husband got a piece of wood "shiskabobbed" (the hand surgeon's words) through the tendon in his finger while rebuilding the deck. It took probably a year or so before he got feeling back, I believed the pain went away sooner. I hope it heals quickly!

I decided, after years of struggling to keep up with the house, this was the year to get my act together. I am constantly decluttering and I do a quick tidy morning and night and two loads of laundry daily. I’ve also learned to ask for help and delegate tasks. It’s just so nice to be able to clean without spending an hour tidying.

The caster oil will help, and, if you don't have any at present, massage "gently" the area below the damaged area so the fluid inside of your hand can circulate the blood to your finger. Be patient and the finger will heal.

Hypnosis help for the pain. Even selfhypnosis, there are courses. I can do a remote theta healing session for free. (I offered it to Hope from Over the median too, she broke her shoulder.) It's a meditation. For some health cases it can come to instant healing. I suggest to go to the seaside this year. The cleanest water that you can find. Salt water or saline heal everything. Or hot springs with minerals in the water. Time to go on that boat, Christine! 😃You will find best deals and have new tips for us. ⛵🚤

About 3 years ago I cut my thumb and nearly lost the tip. Hurt like a sucker for over a year and I still have some numbness in it (nerves grow back very slow!). I just took things one day at a time. I’d say test out biking about once a week and see how it goes. It’ll get better! Massage vitamin E oil on the scar, it’ll help soften it and reduce the appearance. Castor oil may help as well.

When my husband worked as a machinist over a hundred years ago, he severely cut his finger-tendon and nerve damage. He did have surgery-yes, the scar tissue was very painful. He actually had physical therapy, where his hand was dipped in a mixture of melted paraffin and mineral oil, then it would be wrapped up. After a while, the wrapping would come off, and his finger would be stretched and stretched. (very painful). I don't know if your injury was comparable to his, but it took maybe a month for the pain to subside. Bonus-with the paraffin and mineral oil, his hand was very soft! Here's hoping for a complete recovery.

To reduce your finger pain, check out chatter gloves on your next bike ride. They're often used by folks who use chain saws. They're a bit heavy, but I used to lose feeling in my hands when I was working with my small electric saw, and chatter gloves extended the time I could safely work. On the scar tissue, try unscented bag balm. Great moisturizer, mild analgesic. Great video!

My son broke his pinky last year, right before the NICA season started. He rode the trainer indoors for a while and then roads (like you said you were trying). He thought it was about 7 or 8 weeks until he was back on the mountain. With you actually cutting through nerves, you might feel issues from that for at least a year since nerves can take 12 months or longer to fully heal. Maybe just cancel only the first race, not all of them yet, and see how you feel closer to the next one. Good luck!

When I shop, declutter or make food I think of how I can gift it to friends and family if I realize don't need it. I often give gift boxes to loved ones on holidays and often they contain things like candles, body lotions, candy, etc. that I don't use myself anymore for some reason. Some family members are unfortunate experts in giving me gifts I don't need and don't like. I usually save them and give them to someone I know will enjoy them more them me.

He has a large collection of plastic shoe boxes in the basement filled to the brim with old utility bill statements, instructions for appliances etc. Let me tell ya it was a struggle to get him to part with these things. Christine so very sorry. Prayers for your complete healing. I had the tip of my index finger pulled off in 2009. Surgery and skin graph etc. It still hurts and cramps to this day. 5 months to actually heal from the inside out. Finger is creepy dead feeling at the tip. But on the positive note I was 64 not 24. It was my left hand and I am right handed. I am still married to my husband who accidentally slammed the truck door on my hand. Winter or cold weather makes my finger ache so bad. What does work is massage lightly by griping and twisting with the opposite hand. Common sense no bike riding. Oh and wear the dorky plastic or metal finger protector the hospital sold you. (it will really save you a lot of embarrassment when you accidentally hit your finger in a public place) Good video. Have a great week.

Finger~ Nerve pain may always be there ( not as severe & triggers of weather, over worked, hot or cold exposure will create the pain). Massage and PT. Massage can be as simple as a coconut oil, or essential oils (peppermint/frankincense/lavendar) or OTC Nervine. Massage deep long strokes over finger and tip. Can use warm pack to soften fascia & muscles). The paraffin wax dip also helps. Doing hand stretches and grasping of small objects in a box of dried pinto beans or rice. And lastly vibration exercise....a vibration tool with levels that are placed around the area to stimulate nerves(physical therapist use them, actually patients do it themselves to control vibration and stimulation. Give yourself atleast 10-12 months to heal. No biking 😢 Hiking? Running? Swimming? Good luck ❤

I have never hurt my finger but there are massages to break up scar tissue which I never knew for my back surgery and my scar was always itchy. I had it done in pt after shoulder surgery and it is life changing. It is not painless for sure but I have had my scar tissue on my back worked on and it feels so much better. The time for the pain to go away is a tough one based on your tolerance for pain and what sets off the pain like heat or cold or movement. You might find you can support it in some way and the vibrations hurt less. I hope you find the answers that work for you but good pt or massage therapist would be my first step.

In my experiences, you'll need about 6 months minimum to one year for healing. Make your son's last year special by visiting all the trails and parks in your area for runs and hikes, with photos and videos to remember the fun, adventure, and lovely sites! Maybe mountain biking will still be part of 2024 but later in the year. If biking works out, plan a special trek together and include him in the planning for all of the adventuring and exploring! Happy Healing!!!!

I too suffered a finger injury, however not my finger tip. It was back in October. My fav crockpot had a crack on the side and my stupid self picked it up by the cracked side while it was fully full. Well a ceramic shard went through my left pinky. I ended up with 6 stitches in it. It's closer to the palm of my hand but to this day it still hurts to overextend it. So I'd say it'll be at least 6 months before the pain goes away, possibly longer

He has some nerve damage but has use of his finger! Definitely do therapy if you need to. If biking is too bumpy then running will be also. Regarding your finger - I think your doctor would want you to keep your activities- like MTBing- as long as it's not damaging your finger further. Tape the finger and take some Advil - do a test run and see if this works for the pain management - it could be that it's just the extra blood flow to the finger while exercising is what's causing the pain. I had a frozen shoulder for a year and I do a lot of cycling. My doc said no MTB because of the twists and turns and many bumps but said yes to road cycling and indoor cycling, he also recommended Advil or Tylenol to help with the pain. he said the benefits of the cycling outweighed the pain and perhaps slightly delayed healing of my shoulder.

Have kids help you clean! Even when they’re little and it makes it take longer to get the job done they build an appreciation for it and will not make as big of messes. It may not seem like it but I have seen it in a home where The children were not helping and then started helping, and the messes were reduced along with the parents feeling more supported as the kids learned how to help them with the actual cleaning.

I have just moved, I mean, like yesterday! I am definitely decluttering because having to move all of our "stuff" has been a nightmare 😢 I noticed that you don't have anything on your walls. Is that part of your decluttering?

My tip for paper clutter is to get a box and write "BURN" on it. Toss all mail, coupons and receipts that you don't know what to do with in there. File your birth certificates, car titles, and important stuff and put everything else in the burn box. It takes me 3-6 months to fill the burn box. When it's full get another box and start over. If you need anything out of your burn box then you can always go dig it back out. When ever we decide to light the firepit out back, I use the burn box as my fire starter.

Not a doctor, but a baker who's had surgery on both her wrists, one elbow, and touched quite a few really very hot trays - the best thing to do for pain on scar tissue is to touch it as much as possible. I used jojoba oil to moisturise (another important thing), and gently massaged the scars. If that's too painful right now, touch a pillow, or a blanket, or whatever the softest and fluffiest thing you have in your house. I never had to deal with nerve damage but I can imagine it's a lot harder than planned surgery so just do it as much as you can. After my last surgery (wrist and elbow), the doctors were impressed of how fast I healed and the amount of pressure on the scars I could handle. Good luck healing!

Everyone heals differently so I would recommend checking in with yourself by trying an activity and see how you feel at the end. I would recommend cutting out biking for about two months and try it again. So sorry for all the pain that you have experienced.

Give your finger a year! Also, get some pure cocoa butter and rub/massage several times a day. Will be uncomfortable but really helps break up scar tissue. Maybe ask for OT consult.

I love your channel. You challenge me as a mom and an athlete. Love this. I am so jealous my husband is such a clutter bug. if there is free space on the cabinet he fills it. everything gets piled on the fridge. I need to take a little bit of time each day and start a slow declutter. I also have 2 small children. 2 and 4 years old so I don't get alot of time. but Im turning 40 next year time to jumpstart the decluttered house.

I cut my middle finger at the top joint over a year ago. Once the wound itself was healed, I had lingering nerve pain for about 4 - 5 months. However, the overall constant pain subsided within about 30 days of complete healing. Now, I do have minor nerve numbness to this day when I actively press against it but don't notice it with general use.

I wouldn't give up mountain biking- try some "red-light" therapy. You can buy one for a small price and use multi times a day. Because it is just your finger it would be cheaper than a full body red light bed. Can't hurt and may just help with the healing. It will take time, have patience if you do red-light

What about desensitizing your finger to vibrations? As an occupational therapist, I’m thinking to start by placing your hand without the finger touching on a vehicle’s armrest for slight vibrations. Then progress to resting that finger on the armrest. Then progress to riding without that finger during road biking, followed by using that finger while road biking, etc. Do you have a hand therapist? This is a great question for one, as that person can work with you to tolerate more sensations.

So I had the tip of my middle finger crushed and nearly ripped off in a car door when I was 17. I’m now 48. I still have sensitivity issues with that finger. I feel your pain! I was too young to have the sense of time, but I feel the healing process took a bit of time. That happened 6 weeks before my high school graduation, I didn’t have a need to do much till 9 months later, when I started college. I would heal at your own pace, test a run, see how it feels. Keep testing the bike, see how it feels. Don’t feel pressured to do something you’re not ready for.

Not sure which state you are in but we could bump into each other if you travel around to various bike parks. I cycle as well; no mountain only gravel. Hope you recover! TTFN

I shortened my ring finger about a quarter of an inch last May in a woodworking accident. It's still numb, doc told me it would take a while for nerves to heal. He said to tap it and massage to stimulate nerve growth. I do see improvement. I hope you get well soon, we just have to be patient.

The only thing I would add to your excellent list, is maybe just an additional donation bag or two. When you have younger children, it’s easiest to keep a bag in their closet and chuck stuff in when you do a quick tidy of their spaces. I usually go into their rooms once a week and I always need at least one trash bag and one donation bag. It’s amazing how quickly new stuff comes into a house with lots of people! I’m glad your finger is healing. Thank you for the quick update. I pray for your finger whenever I think on it.

Paper clutter - wow... I know EXACTLY what you mean - I scan everything in to a folder on my computer and dispose of the paper. that's it.. Done! Got rid of filing cabinets full of documents, photos, certificates, greetings cards.... now I'm starting on my sheet music books and normal books so they are always safe, I can read them anywhere and I don't have 40 boxes to carry if I ever move home!

One way to keep bathroom clean, make this a house rule, if u get it out put it back and every time u go in the bathroom and wash hands take the hand towel and wipe the counter down. Keeps the water wiped up. U will have to wash hand towels more but it works. My bathrooms always r neat.

I tried to post earlier but got an error. Hopefully this works- focus on scar massage and use sheets if youre too painful (I've tried many and like nuvadermis sheets the best from amazon). Focus on desensitizing. have your kiddos bring you weird shit to lightly graze your finger tips across. assume it's the whole hand, not just your finger. trash/found objects work. crumpled up packing materials. your husband has short hair, hang out on the couch and graze your fingers against the grain of the back of his neck/head. stay away from heat. take lions mane, I like fresh cap because they only use fruiting bodies. it helps restore the myelin sheath (nerves). these are the things that worked for me so far. I broke my dominant hand this summer. had open reduction/internal fixation surgery, multiple screws in my hand, and internal and external sutures. Im currently rehabbing my entire hand (my incision is about 3" and runs from the tip of my middle finger down). also, use your injured hand to apply delicate things like skincare on your face. #1 priority is desensitizing and waking up the nerves. keep moving your hand, but if you do it too much, you could make scar tissue worse. based on what ive seen in your other videos, we have almost the exact same measurements. I'm taller by 2". but your structure is clearly petite this means you might be dealing with some traumatic arthritis eventually because of your delicate structure. I also have a goal of resuming my favorite outdoor activities (kayaking!) I think if you give yourself a good 3 months of intensive scar massage and desensitizing with nerve support, you'll be good to bike! the silicone sheets will also make your injury more comfortable because they distribute pressure evenly across the skin. good luck!

My husband, who had finger tip amputation, said for what you want to do regarding the biking, you will most likely have nerve pain for about 12 months. He had a very successful surgery with the top hand surgeon in the US and it took him about 12 months to be able to do the things he had done in the past without pain.
