They attacked my summer straights first...I noticed it the same day, I jected one right out it's hole. They're on a week cycle so I was there exactly a week later to re inject...so far so good...I have plenty of babys coming!

I'm so used to having a mosquito trap I forget to mention it. Hubby said yes when I asked if it trapped white flies and moths along with mosquito. According to it's document it does not attract butterflies, lady bugs, bees or any benificial insects. It plugs in and covers edit 1/2 acre not 1/2 mile. A house or large structure will block sensor. I noticed one year it was loaded with webs.

Your squash always are amazing GreenT. Two years we've pruned heavily. Last year we staked like you teach. Taking note pad outside. Don't want a repeat of blossom end rot like last year. Thanks for all these videos GreenT.

@@Greentgarden These are the bane of my gardening existence!!! I am close to you, in NJ. I hate squash vine borers, they are awful here. I’ve been battling these things for a decade! I’ve tried even injecting BT into the vines before they strike. They would just eat around it and not die….. so far I think I’ve saved a couple of plants. But they literally lay hundreds of eggs a day on my plants. I do not have squash bugs thank God just these moths. I have to go around every morning for an hour picking them off with duct tape. The eggs are very resistant to squish, so I use my fingernail to pop them. Preventatively I use diatomaceous earth, along with the spray of BT neem oil, peppermint oil, tea, tree oil, and sprinkle cayenne, cinnamon, red pepper flakes, even resorted to non organic methods. I’ve done row covers but they just come from the soil, I’ve tried my small greenhouse, they get in somehow, I do companion plants. Nothing is even close to 50% effective!!! And guess what I love friggen love zucchini, any curcubits, so I can’t bring myself to skip a year growing, lol They even lay them on the tendrils, the small leaf veins, flowers, fruit, I mean everywhere! If you find something that works a whole lot better please share!

Correction. Trap covers 1/2 acre. Sorry. I was tired.

BT spray ( bacillus- thuringiensis ) is ONLY thing that’s helped mine . I did Neem oil but it didn’t help at all . BT spray in the evening all over both sides of the leaves and down the entire stem. Literally 2 days later my plants were starting to stand back up and looking healthy . If it rains after you apply, you need to reapply . Then also reapply 7 days later again . Evening or early morning application only. Good luck ! 🍀

Yes you're right the BT spray. I did it one year but it's a hit or miss for me. But I do hear like yourself. Some people said it works but that's a great idea to bring it up.. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. This will help many people.. have a wonderful day 🌱

Found a teeny caterpillar on my squash vine this morning..I squished it. Going to check again later today. Vertical is the way to go ❤

Yep and , keep your garden clean , remove any dead flower, yellow dried up leaves.. any sign of an attack? Make sure you check every single day in your garden.. Look for the eggs and try to remove them right away

On another note we have many failsafes that work most of the time.

Lady bugs are your friends they eat small bugs. Especially aphids

It is a good idea. But we cannot block the bees for pollination unless you're going to hand pollinate...... Thanks for sharing 🌱

Not the seasonings lol 😅 but i got some butternut squash and zucchini i sure i see signs of aphids so i tell my self get neem oil but these squash bugs im afraid of now i dont wan em

Lol I totally agree.. don't like these bugs.. 😨😨😬😬😬😂 try soap water mix too and yellow sticky traps for aphids
