Best Capoeira in Brazil .African Martial Art. Resistance to slavery

Queen Nzinga was a warrior Queen from what is now Angola who fought against the Portuguese slave traders. Some of her people were captured but were able to keep their fighting skills and culture through the middle passage to Brazil. There they had to disguise their martial art as a dance creating what is now called Capoeria. Capoeria was a form of resistance for Africans and was officially banned by the government until fairly recently , Zumbi of Palmares led a free city of escaped Africans

I would think this is the hardest martial art to learn. It requires a lot of fitness. Where most martial arts you can get away with being out of shape most of the time, Ive NEVER seen an experienced Capoerista who was fat.

correct which is why an mma fighter stated that it was reltively easy to transition from capoeira to mma because the moves in capoeira are very diffcult. Capoeira is one of those martial arts whis itsa princples fit well into boxing wrestling etc.

Mateus Tofoli you need some correction. Who give you the right as a descendant of Europeans (downpressors) to comment on African culture manifest in Brazil as Capoeria. In Jamaica among-st the Congolese Angolans they referred to their deity as King Zombi. Therefore Zombi is not Portuguese and or European in origin .So Zombi ,Brazil and Bimba which Jamaicans call bombo are all relic of African Culture. Check yourself and stop trying to corrupt and steal that which is ours. bombo-claaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat,.

calm yourself before your throwing rocks inside a glass house! zumbi and zombi are different things! google zumbi and palmares to know more. bimba is the name of a brazilian capoeira mestre. and ofcourse is brazil massively influenced by the africans brought to the americas, still capoeira nowadays is everything else than african. it has its roots there, yes, but this development would never had happened if the inventors wouldn't have had to develop this way of defence. and put every European in the line with downpressors is shot far over the goal, like not every african is down pressed. just a hint, i don't wanna excuse or smth, what português and other European countries did was horrible, but the African people captured their neighbours and sold them in trade for weapons to the colonialists.. its not always black and white..
