I use the Annimos servos or Power HD servos off of Amazon. Only killed one of the Annimos so far and have been running them for over a year. Never killed a Power HD!

Try the jx 32kg servo. You can get them from rc juice or EBay. Only $60 & it has over double the torque of the protek.

Back in the late 90’s early 2000’s when I was racing 1/8th scale buggy servos was either fast low tq like .08 but 120 oz ish or tq slower like 180oz but .15 ish. Servos are so much better and cheaper now days used to cost close to 350 bucks to get 2 servos for 1/8th scale.

Bro I have a revo 3.3 I just picked up for $100 bucks. The steering sucks on it!!!!! What do you suggest for a Truck like the revo

I run a futaba s9352hv to this day in my 1/8th buggy. Specs are pretty good to this day, and much better than the 9351😉

@@MarkSantaMaria Yeah still are expensive, but like a good kit vs. a RTR you open up the futaba you can see where your money went. The machining, the PCB, soldering, all top notch👍

You should start a project where you take a T-MAXX with a junk motor or no motor and convert it to electric!!

Some of the off brand servos work fine the only thing I noticed when I used them was that they sucked the juice out of the battery much faster than more expensive name brand servos. There are a set of off brand high torque servos that I have that I can't even use because they will cause such a high current drain the plane will crash!!

Not sure if its a newer release but just found the ecp 110t servo online. Its way cheaper has more torque and is only .16 for speed compaired to the 100t .14. please give it a look. Oh also its water proof. So like. Idk what it is but it looks so much more desirable. Edit. Ok so the 100t is better at dissapating heat compared to the ecp 110t which if is a fair trade off Edit 2. It has the same rating for operating temperature range... Yeah nah this looks goated in every way. If you just wanna bash get a ecp 110t. I'll MAYBE come back and edit this a 3rd te if I run into issues after buying it for myself

Hey Mark. I love that little ProTek. Here is another that recently was been released. I think it’s the best budget servo out there as of now. ShiftRC XB. $66 360oz/0.15 @ 6v. 400oz/0.105 @ 7.4v. 444oz/0.095 @ 8.4v IP67 waterproof Steel gear Aluminum center case.

While this is an excellent servo for its speed, and torque (I do have one in my TLR 22 5.0 SR), it does have one "problem"...and, technically, this applies to all but one ProTek servo - it's not waterproof. Ok, so maybe that's a bit much to put on this specific servo. My point is, all the other 'major' brands have several waterproof servos. However, the only waterproof servo in Amain's ProTek lineup is the 370TBL "Black Label"...and that thing costs $160. ProTek NEEDS to add more waterproof servos to their lineup. Waterproof servos are NOT just for boats - crawlers can use them, bashers (especially when running on to of water) can use them, rock racers can use them. So, Amain, when ya gonna add more waterproof servos to your ProTek lineup? Mark, maybe you can convince them.

​​@@MarkSantaMaria got a question can you run a Traxxas 3355 receiver on 7.4 v it's the receiver that's in the Sledge and in the hoss any info would be greatly appreciated I heard there are only six v rated but I also heard people running 7.4 v and not having a problem just because the server was rated for 7.4 so I'm just curious cuz I got a hobbywing Max 6 in mine right now in my Sledge because the factory one burned up within two months of owning it and I barely used it they sent me a new one but I haven't put it in because I like the Max 6

An FYI for anyone buying one. I bought 100t from amain. Lasted 2 weeks. Luckily they refunded me and put that money to a hitec hs-7950TH. Haven’t had any problems with it

That was going to be my comment/question - will it last? I’m un-retiring my Nitro Hyper 8.5 buggy. Had top of the line hi-Tec TG servos on it. They still work like new, and I had plenty of races on them before I mothballed my kit...

@Supnat1 search on ebay and find that killer deal...i use these on my savage flux xl,revo, tamiya monsters, xo-1 and the blue ones are water proof...all steel gears..comes incl the 25T alloy servo horn etc...20kg up to 60kg servo's..buy in bundle..👍any other questions just let me know👊

I can't believe you bashed the Hobby King Servos you can get a servo comparable to your race servos in the $50 range. .14 is too slow .09 or less is better for a budget race servo.

I don't understand the app seen high ratings and tort numbers needed today for motor vehicles I understand for a big scale or maybe a rock crawler but 20 years ago I bought a JR 8717 it had a transition speed I think of .07 and only 188 ounces of torque. I have ran it in an eight scale, electric buggy, eight scale electric Trogi to savages flux and S ass and never felt the need for anything faster or even anything stronger to turn my vehicle properly now I've been out of RCA for a good 10 years due to health conditions and I ran that servo from around 03 to about that point once again in plenty of vehicles, and never needed more than that 188 ounces of torque it would provide, I do not understand this needing three for 500 ounces in any eight scale vehicle

Remember this guy is sponsored there is way better options out there than what these guys recommend so take everything they recommend with a spoon of salt....
