STOP Killing your SERVOS!!!

Ойын-сауық

Lets look at some of the ways you can destroy a servo! Links below to a few Servos I've found to be reliable for my vehicles. Use the links below to help support Exocaged RC, Thank you.
Starting with Reefs RC the RAW500 is an amazingly tough servo and I have abused a few of them badly and they have held up great!

Holmes Hobbies SHV800, these things are tougher than nails!! Can't go wrong with these!

The Cheap 25kg servos off Amazon and Ebay are surprisingly good for the money but make no mistake about it, the Reefs and Holmes options are faster and stronger

THE BEST!! This explanation is really interesting and correct! Another thing I can add to your perfect analysis is FOLLING DOWN: when the car has rollover or other falls, may append the impact is on the front wheels and this can crash servo gears, but also sometimes servo electronics. It happens to us some times... Thanks for your job !

Hey Joe, thank you for all of your great ideas, testing and education with the crawlers. This video was a huge EYE OPENER!! So I have been having serious issues with my servo screw coming loose constantly! I have a Gen 8 scout with a Zoosky 35kg servo from Amazon, that is plenty powerful. But just lately my servo horns keep coming loose no matter how much blue loc tite I have or even with a star lock washer. I just got done ordering a variety of different servo horns and mostly I'm tired of the clamp style ones. Can you please recommend a great servo horn? I do have wheel extensions that bolt to the back of the wheels. I learned a lot from this video but also I have never burnt out a servo yet!🤞lol So now my real concern is you mentioned voltage. I run a 3s SMC lipo at most times & I looked up voltage for this servo it's peak is 7.4v! So because I run a 3s I have to find a 3s servo is this what you're saying or recommending? All of the ones I've looked up are quite some loot. Any help, advice, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also I installed the brace exactly as you have done. Should have done it sooner to avoid ripping out my aluminum C hub from the diff and bending the 3 screws that held it into place. Now I have Treal front & rear metal differential! Very beefy! Sorry for the long post sir hope that you have a great day and keep up with the great videos and information! 🤘🤙👍

I just bought the power hobby 1512 for the scx6 due to my limited knowledge of direct power set up and wanting to keep it simple. Servo knowledge (driving knowledge) can kill ones desire for the hobby if ppl like you didn't explain this stuff. Hobby shops here in Denver tend not to give constructive feedback or advise 1st reason being; some customers are down right nasty if told they are screwing up 2nd reason in some cases is " he will kill it , if I say somthing I won't get a sale for new servo in few weeks( he will have me install it too and he tips very well).

i dont stear a non moving truck ,and never park your truck with turned wheels for watching how your bros make the trail with there trucks.Even to much weight (brass, lead, water sucked foams) stress your servo.

What about servo heat? I've got the shv500v3 on 3s and it gets pretty warm,is that acceptable?

Warm to us may not be warm to the servo itself. Things will get warm when worked, that’s to be expected of anything.

being a mechanic I know all about wheel angles and my god is it bad in the crawler rc's. the reverse ankerman than is all too common really bothers me, that's not helping your limited steering what so ever.

If the power is off it shouldn’t break anything unless you impacted the turning tires, shock loaded the servo and broke some gears.
