Update, I would buy the Axon Sync over the TAPS Sync. The constant on feature and different feel for each button is a must have (especially when wearing gloves or in cold weather).

The first time I deployed it was with PVS14, PEQ15, surefire M951 with IR flip filter all mounted on my M4. The IR illuminator on the PEQ-15 was almost always too bright and would wash out the target (couldn't see the target because the laser illuminator was too bright) Yes it's adjustable but fiddling with it was PITA and slow. So normally we used the surefire with IR filter and the laser dot from the peq15. This is essentially exactly what you've put together here. Good job.

I use my NVGs for airsoft and range shooting. With how many people have some kind of IR detection capability I've pretty much gone to strictly passive aiming with a two mode light/IR Illuminator in most setups. I don't need a whole lot of throw, a laser is nice but becoming an IR beacon at alot of games now, especially in a populated dark corridor, gets you lit the fuck up. Passive aiming with just a PVS14 is totally doable. Just can't transition shoulders without a a laser.

  • @TriadAgone

For me it's just alot lighter when running for 12+ hours and because of the ranges involved for me (inside 100m where it's fairly easy to see a target through an optic under NODs) I mostly need it for Lum in very low light, blasting other NVG users and hopefully gating out their tubes if they are looking my way. A laser we mostly use for signals/IFF.

The Inforce works fine as a helmet light, if you can find a good way to attach it and you are ok with its limited range. Its one of the few IR/White light combos thats small enough to fit on a helmet. I havent found a combo light thats small and works better yet.

The Sightmark? If you have never used gen 2 or 3, the Gen 1 will make you think you have super powers.
