That pedal sounds killer. I do dig how heavy it sounds. it sounded great with the Jackson spectra bass and the jazz bass. My first ehx pedal was an ehx hot wax dual overdrive pedal. It’s a truly unique overdrive pedal. It’s got 2 overdrive circuits and you can choose one overdrive(each od has it’s own sound) or use both to get a heavy distortion sound. If you ever wanted to check out another ehx pedal, definitely check it out.

I really love this pedal. I was confused by the label “overdrive” below the foot switch but it is a fuzz pedal. My tone setting for jazz bass is at 9 oclock so it boost a bit of low mid. On my precision, tone will be sitting around 11-12 oclock and. Volume and sustain adjust accordingly to what song im playing.

Most of the vintage ones I've tried are fucked up and crackly from years of abuse ( and they take up a huge chunk of board space) Even with a side by side shootout with a vintage in good shape (my buddy has one), I prefer the nano - - reliable with negligible difference (to my ears, and in a mix) - plus if someone rips you off, no biggie, get another

I’ll be rather opposite to most comments saying that it just sounds like shhshhhshhhhshhhh without much of a definition. Fuzz is not for everyone of course. It reminds a little bit of Boss ODB-3 which was absolutely horrible. For distorted bass SoulFood will give much more definition. Fuzz in a band situation will make the bass disappear behind the guitar. It’s a no from me but of course great video (as always)

Neither the Green Russian nor the ODB-3 will do the shhhhhh thing if you set them right. Green Russian you put the Tone all the way down, Sustain all the way up. Done. Glorious sustaining pillow of sound with no fizz. ODB-3 is unintuitive but a very good pedal, just put the Blend at like 7:30 (yes very very low) and the Gain all the way down. Treble at noon, Bass at 2:00. Great light overdrive sound right there that works perfectly in a band. Very nice compression to it and no shhhh or harsh treble at all.
