just a heads up for some folks, you still need a load center (breaker box) and outlets sorted out. Seems obvious, but some folks forget that part. I have the 3 battery rack. BTW, thank you Will for your videos, because without you, I wouldn't have ever been able to get off grid.

Same here. If it wasn't for Will, I would not have known what to get. I am an electrical engineer so power and wiring is not a problem. I had no idea of the products available or which ones were good and which ones were not. When I got into it, there were not any AIO units. My upgrades include a MPP LV6538 and a Growatt 2424. However, I have had plenty of terrible bad luck with 280A-hr battery suppliers. This unit is a dream come true. Thx a zillion Mr. Prowse!

Is there such a thing as a whole home automatic transfer switch? I see plenty of the manual switches to switch from a your solar or generator over to mains AC, as well as small units like what Will demos in older videos but does anyone make such a thing that can switch a whole sub-panel via a relay and be controlled remotely and isn't proprietary? Wouldn't such a system still be "off-grid" since it's not back feeding the grid? This is the part I'm struggling so much with when trying to design an off grid setup that can automatically fall back a set of circuits to mains power when the batteries deplete to a certain point.

I notice the temps in Nevada are record-setting. I believe that solar panels are more efficient when they’re cooler. So you have some way to measure the efficiency of you panels now v. this winter when we’re cooler. dangerously hot conditions are being forecast for central Las Vegas with highs ranging from 108 F (47.7 C) on Tuesday and 111 F (43.8 C) on Wednesday. Las Vegas reached 111 F (43.8 C) last Thursday and 110 F (43.3 C) last Friday

If I had not already bought 2 LiFePOwer4 batteries for my shop system, I would have gone this route. Even without solar panels, I can work in my shop, running skill saws, air compressor, drills, and other power tools for a week before going from 4 bar level to 2 bar level. Then it's just a couple of hours on the generator to bring it back to full charge.

Will you did a outstanding job ! 😊 the whole unit an EG4 is such a nice big capacity in a smaller unit . An the whole thing makes me want to get a EG4 charge control an inverter an the battery unit for my shed to keep my landscapeing buisness running good for winter an summer . An I run off from lots of battery packs for tools . Just wished they made lipo4 batteries for tools . Lithium ion is nice an lasts for a bit but lipo4 has more life an pros . Just only cons of being a landscapeing buisness that runs off battery packs is degradation. Over heating do to hot days on sights making it take more hours for a few jobs. Winter time batteries go in to freeze mode an take hrs to warm up to safely charge to get the snow blower clearing parking lots an lands during winter . So my strategy is more batteries an a self heated solar generator . An a backup generator that runs on gass .an slowly harden the businesses structures to keep it solid through anything . I can picture folks using a unit to power ac .or heating . An some might use 1 for such an another for appliances. A shed .shop .backup power . It's pretty cool 😄 keep up the awesome work brother .

Thanks Will. This is a ***tiny*** premium over a "one hundred percent do-it-yourself" inverter + battery setup build. It is almost plug-and-play and even I am considering setting one of these up to act as a "generator" for hurricane season. When not using it for "backup" I can use it to power a mini-split or two and my server room and outdoor cooking area. This would ***completely*** eliminate the need to purchase and store gasoline or LPG for my current generator. AGAIN I am stressing the fact that my current generator sits fallow as a BACKUP measure for hurricane season. It was a good investment (6kW dual-fuel gas/propane) and provides peace of mind but if not utilized I STILL need to maintain it and the fuel supply. A solar/battery solution would provide daily use as well as backup. Adding two mini-splits (DIY install again thanks will! :) )would reduce my current electrical usage for cooling and that would provide an amortization path that is not currently available. THANKS WILL!

I do not have any manual. I have found that I have two bad 12V 200 Amp gel sealed batteries in series with two good ones, that are lowering my discharge voltage and shutting down my inverter that I am presently using. My good friend Harry gave me these two 9.2 Kwh battery packs. Is there something similar that is not so much DIY, but plug-n-play? My initial thought was to get a solar generator, then get an an ATS transfer switch for maybe 4 - 6 outlets (fridge, internet, etc) for outages at home. But this seems do-able if we can 'mount' a 300 pound thing the wall... Bit hesitant there. Any suggestions? How does this thing 'power up' during a power outage? Sounds like you still need a solar solution....?

Thx a lot WTG, I learned so much from you. Do you sell this kind of system? And do you have any used hybrid inverter be 24 volt or 48 volt. We're putting up a foundation in Africa, to teach some basics about recycling anything worth recycling over there for some orphans in a village. (I'm waiting for you to compare EG4 batteries with Discover AES 42-48-6650, which I always swear by) Thx a lot. By the way (WTG) stands for Will The Great.

Scalable aint kidding, if I read the literature right that maxes out at 30 batteries and 10 inverters for 120k output, 426 kWh of storage and 180,000 watts of solar. It’s possible to produce a megawatt of power a day with this system. No idea how that would work. The amps would be insane.

You mentioned standby or energy usage of 'all in one' inverters... I'm a newbie, planning my first system for my fixer upper house. So a few questions... An all in one inverter, are they also battery controllers, so therefore I can't shut the inverter off to save energy? Can I ever shut off the all in one inverter? I'm trying to buy an inverter that is easy to install with lithium FPO4 batteries, is decent quality, and doesnt waste energy, and is fairly affordable. Looking at 5kw use per day to start. I have done my own 200amp upgrade, so will use thick guage wiring, to connect batteries, inverter, etc together. Thanks! 2:18 Aurora in Maine

Can you run a small 12VDC resistive heater circuit and thermostat in the battery case for year-round fulltime RV use? We travel around the continent, and have spent the last 3 winters being snowed upon in the NE US - at temps that make LiFePO battery use a non-starter because they don't like freezing ambient temps.

Don't know the best place to ask this, but interested in a dedicated time-shift (time-of-day billing) system that can ALSO function as a grid down. I have gear now that sort of works (UTS-6H + AC300 [+ isolation transformer]) but has minor issues/annoyances. Too complicated to explain in a post, but the AC300 power output isn't great for grid down (or artificial grid down to provide time-shift) as the output fluctuates a bit too much and the AC300 output requires 100% isolation from the input. Long story short, looking for an all in one inverter charger that doesn't require the neutrals (input and output) to be isolated. If you are confused, I don't know how to reach out and further explain this rather weird edge case. I even made contact with the AC300 engineers to explain how the UTS-6H works and determined a work-around (isolation transformer).

I bought eg4's 2ton hybrid a/c as I am in California and my existing nem 2.0 does not allow solar expansion, so you can use the hybrid solution to bypass this b.s. If EG4 can get their stuff together on the precharge issues on the batteries and square away the software deficiencies as well as the UL9450A certs (well documented and many people bitching on the forums), they will dominate. The handwriting is on the wall. Years ago I worked for a competing company against a small company called ubitquity networks who had 10 employees but kept coming out with the most feature rich cheap solutions for last mile wireless. I saw them take off, go public in a few years and they still pretty much blow everyone else out of the water in that space 15 years later. That is eg4. Get some stock in that company if you can.

When those of us who live on Social Security can save up for the system in this video,we still can use the smaller, cheaper version for a portable power supply. It’s part of my “go-bag “ for SHTF.
