I currently have a gen 1 focusrite 2i4 I'm looking at getting a new AI to record some guitar and use my pc as a guitar rig for practice. I've narrowed it down to these 3. Love this video! I’d be curious to see a breakdown of multi track mixers and your favorites of those. I want to simply have my mixer and daw be able to input 4-8 tracks without the whole pan trick if I want to jam with a buddy and get the session from individual sources on separate tracks. Is that really expensive or really advanced or can it be simple?

Good morning sir, i want to buy best budget best qwality audio interface sir.. Give me A Suggestion sir..!! & I'm using behringer C3 microphone sir is it worth or suggeste me any other microphone sir.

I picked up a couple new synthesizers that I THOUGHT I could record with the line inputs on my Focusrite Scarlett 8i6. But with the synth at full volume it records at -30 db which I consider pretty damn useless. Are all line inputs so quiet? I'm not sure what to replace this POS with!

Focusrite Clarett+ 4Pre or 8Pre USB-C are slept on!! They're better than the Scarlett line and most of the interfaces shown here. There's a reason the Clarett+ are more expensive than Scarletts.

The AF Studio is super slept on masterful engineering! Such an amazingly well thought out device. Super high gain clean converters, inserts, independent dual monitor control support, independent dual headphone control support, talkback, etc... the list goes on and on. The focus of this device was to keep you in the moment and enable capturing moments that much easier. And Ill be damned if this didnt fill the bill for me. I love the BT feature when artists come through and want to play me a mix. I dont have to do anything! They simply connect and play! Highly recommend! * I'll add, I left Focusrite 18I8 for the AF Studio and the difference in quality and headroom for me was night and day. Ive added a Motu 8pre for additional line ins via ADAT. The AF Studio app software is so much easier, stable and straightforward to use

I have the motu m2 with a shure sm7b and Cloudlifter and I want more gain, it is worth upgrading to a motu m6 but I just read that all the motu M series have the same 60 dB gain. I await your comment

Pretty sure they all have the same preamps so they would all have the same gain. You might want to look into the Arturia Audio fuse line, the preamps onboard that one have 70db of usable clean gain.

I'd be interested to know how many USB outputs they all have... so I can record tracks independently...

i had the steinberg UR22, i returned it to the store for being pure **** when recording hardware euqipment, very bad pre-amps, i hope that the UR44 isnt the same

You recommend Motu? How do you get it to run? I got M4 on all the hype, but there is no way it can even replay a stereo signal without constant popping and cracking on a 14-core i7. Went through the full Windows setup and all trouble shooting I could find plus a support ticket. All just a waste of time. My petty 2nd gen 2i2 can run huge projects without a glitch.

I tested a MOTU M4 and found that it does not like usb-c to usb-c cables when plugged into a M1 mac. It adds noise to one of the channels. Tech support never acknowledged the problem so I made a video about it. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y52GuKqymbK-kso.html

The title has in it, "Recording" but you don't mention any interfaces that record to SD cards or built in memory. Consider mentioning the specific preamps as well as this will affect the sound wouldn't you agree? The Tascam Mixcast 4 should have been mentioned.

Motu M6, doesn't work with Cue Mix , also it doesn't have DSP processing like EQ or Reverb .You confusing with with MOTU Ultralite MK5 which works with Cue Mix and has n board DSP

Lmao.... DSP means digital signal processing. He is referring to how once the analog signal gets converted into a digital signal (the entire point of any interface and ADC), processing that signal in cue mix with eq/compression etc is "DSP. You are processing a digital signal..... not to mention that the inverse of ADC (DAC), how the interface takes an digital signal and converts to analog for your monitor/headphones is also DSP. Try reading the wiki on DSP and you will learn a lot So yes... an audio interface definetly has DSP

Actually, the Gain of the M6 is the same it is on any M series interface, 60dBV of Gain. That being said, I’ve been using the M4 for some time now and I never came even close to needing more gain. Even with the infamous Shure SM7B, i would have about 5-10dB left. Even if one needed more than the maximum gain, just raising the Level in post wouldn’t do any harm, thanks to the EIN of -129dB and the dynamic range of 115dB(A). The additional line input and line output may also come in handy.
