You seem to have a lot of info on the ATT gear. I wonder if you can answer this question. They still have me back on the 2Wire 3800HGV-B and it has not received any firmware updates in years which makes me increasingly uneasy. If I were to acquire a BGW-210-700 from a 3rd party, do you know if I would I be able to swap out the 2Wire and have the BGW just work without getting ATT involved? I know it might require some configuration on my part to get things the way I want them, but I can do that. Thanks in advance. 👍

ATT will usually replace your gear if you want them to.

In the end, you indicated, its PACE+ONT or BGW320, meaning the ONT is removed? What is put in its place? A RJ45 jack?

The Ont is removed and a fiber jack is placed instead.

I have the 210 and it is frustrating that I only get 40/350 on Gigapower. The gateway diagnostics say that I’m getting 970/970, but I suspect that is only to the ONT and there is an issue with my connection between the ONT and 210. This is all hardwired, and my entire LAN was up to spec when I had C-Spire (had to ditch them when they refused to repair a fiber cut). As a long shot I tested the switch and confirmed 1GB capability, just not 1Gb service.

You are getting the right speeds usually anywhere between 40 and 350 MB a second is on Wi-Fi you won’t see anything above that on 802 11 Ac Your device needs to be connected to a cat 5E Cable with all four pairs punch stand and the device must be able to handle 1000 meg Service to see those speeds

@zeroturn7091 Seen this with many people computers. Some don’t see very high speeds just because of the computer capability. This 210 will push high speeds. Have you tested on other pc. Do you have a 10/100/1000 card on the pc. Do you have other programs running?

@zeroturn7091 well then crap. Call att and have them send out a tech have them swap out the 010 with a 320 and get up to the right speed.

Hi, I have a BGW210 connected on ONT. if I buy a BGW320 can I just plug it into the ONT, plug and play? What speeds would I be getting? I am on Att 1gb speeds and would like to have stronger WiFi in my home. Thanks.

You cannot buy a 320. You have to have att tech install one for you.

@@purewhips1ah ok. I thought it’s plug and play. My Att tech installed a 5268 in my house and said if he gets a bgw210 in he’ll text me so I can meet up with him to trade routers. He didn’t install it for me as he said it’s just plug and play. Thought the bgw320 was also plug and play if I go with the ONT input like my bgw210.

All I care about is what is most secure and most stable. So disappointed they don't allow port blocking. I just turn the wifi off and use another router with only Guest enabled for network protection.
