Great video Charles. I use the 18-140 on my Nikon D7200 but also use it on my new Nikon Z6 in DX mode and continue to get great results.

Thanks for sharing, it is a good lens, but I found it a bit soft in the corner if I was using a less than f5.6

Bought the 18-140mm lens. My 18-105 stop autofocusing. Works as manual. 18-140mm is my go to lens. Excellent video.

Good video as I was struggling to get sharper images with my d5600 and 18-140lens, guess I was shooting all the time with wrong apertures like f16 etc

Good process. As you say, the real caution here is that your results may vary due to the fact that this is a kit lens. My 18-140 is my go to choice to leave on my D7500. I've been relying on the DXOMARK test data which is biased more towards f8 and even wider when at 18mm. Cheers...

Лишняя работа, но было интересно. По справочнику у Nikon D500 предел дифракции равен 11,5. А это значит, что диафрагму меньше чем f/11 устанавливать не стоит в любом случае, с любым объективом. Если у вашей фотокамеры предел дифракции, к примеру, 8, то, соответственно, с этим объективом на f/11 у вас получится "мягкая" фотография.

That's a great price and you're going to enjoy using this lens. But a word of advice, don't use a Fstop over F11, like F14 or F16, as this lens gets soft at those settings.

@@CharlesNPhotography I went to Berrinba Wetlands yesterday afternoon and saw 4-5 sea Eagles, Pelicans. Egret and Australia Darter. it is a bit far to you but you might like to check it out.

Sharpness is not affected by the length of the exposure, it is affected by the Aperture that you use.

I have most kit lenses. But I have been looking at the 10/20mm dx lens do you have it and if so whats yours thoughts on it. I love the 70/300 my self.

No I don't have this lens as I have the Tokina 11-20mm f2.8 lens. I use it for taking photos of the Milky Way. But I'm told that the Nikon 10-20mm lens is very good, but is only f4.5 at 10mm so not that good in low light.

does this lens have apertures greater than 5.6?

At 140mm this lens is wide open at F5.6, and can shoot to f32
