    Hello , awesome short video, I think the amp setting was probably close to 31hrz ,an I think your running some pretty decent higher end equipment .deffently sounded great ,an I appreciated your took time to post an share your progress 👍. I like how you inverted the subs to keep an eye on the coils while pushing them hard. So, if you where to take a digital thermal reader ,an check the coils while running them .could have a better idea hot ,for how long,an how well they cool down inverted like that. Did you notice an improvement on lower frequency now in this enclosure ?

That rj7 connection is for a bass remote the telephone jack looking one just telling you so u know how your amp works

    The "REMOTE" port on the amp is not to link (Daisy chain) another amp. It's for a remote (Bass Knob). Yes you have one running through your RCA's yet the port is made for the OEM optional knob.

    When setting the gain in the amplifier, does the bass knob of my amp and also of my epicenter have to have be at max or all the way down when tuning? Please reply

  • @dvibezmusic5030

    @dvibezmusic5030

    Жыл бұрын

    You’d want your bass knob turned all the way up when tuning. Reason being, if you tune your amp with the bass knob set at half way for instance, when you decide to crank the knob up one day because you are in the mood to bump hard, you could potentially damage your speakers or over load your amp, because it wouldn’t be tuned correctly, at least not pass that half way level on the knob. So knob all the way up, and adjust your gain accordingly. Therefore if you decide to have the knob all the way up, you know the tune is set correctly for that amount of bass. Protect your investment.

    Set it no more than a half octave lower than what your box is tuned at. Like say my 15in i just got. Specs on ported box showed it was tuned at 32hz made for my 15 specifically. Lots would just set subsonic at 32hz. But, most experts etc say u can go "half octave lower", which is just 32÷2=16 then 16÷2= 8, so my box is 32hz right? So i can take 8 off 32 and set it their safely, which is 32-8=24Hz. So mine is set at 24. Hope that helps, just need to know box specs kinda.

  • @johngracejr9436

    @johngracejr9436

    It cant hurt to set it around 25 tho anyway, it will just make it so the subs don't try to get too much lower than 25hz, which 12s don't get that low usually anyway really. Id guess 30-35would be closer to recommended for you. But 25 should be fairly safe and hit a lil harder too haha. Goodluck

    This is ummm… hmm.. lol if your gain is 3/4 of the way up you’re in trouble. That means you’re getting hardly any input voltage. Turn radio close to max volume before clipping for most efficient tuning unless your amp doesn’t handle the max pre out of your radio or source unit. This will eliminate the possibility of input voltage spiking and hard clipping your amp/sub and causing some smoky issues. Also… you’re losing on the low end. Your subsonic should be at minimum an octave below box tuning. The slope is going to cut into your box’s tuning frequency, it’s not a brick wall filter it’s a 12db per octave I believe but even at 24db per octave you’re still cutting into tuning frequency of your enclosure. And phase is not just for inverting or not inverting subs. If you run multiple amps, you can put them both on an oscilloscope and see a slight variance in the waveform that is produced. For example amp 2 may be 3-5 degrees out of phase, so you use the phase adjustment to sync up those output waveforms so your subwoofers move in unison. Also can use the phase knob to adjust your delay etc. not just an invert button. Just saw this and wanted to share and clear some things up. Keep up the good work bro

    So no multimeter needed to set my subsonic filter? I can just multiply my box tuning (40hz) by .75 to get me half an octave lower equalling 30hz. And that's where I set my subsonic is 30hz?

    @@infodisco4097 get you a multi meter and put it on ac voltage flattened out all your radio settings and turn gain all the way down, low pass all the way up, everything else down, play a 45hz test tone clean (KZread) volume at 3/4 and turn the gain until you reach 32 then turn low pass down until that number try’s to change just make sure it’s still at 32 when finished. Multi meter hooks to positive and negative speaker output on the amp but while setting it leave the subs unhooked. Then set subsonic after to about 40-45 and adjust with music playing. Leave bass boost off at all times. Good to go.

    Yo, if your subs inverted, you need the phase at 180 and not zero. That’s the whole point of your phase my dude. Also for a bc 4k, your gains up 3/4?!? That’s not right. My dude, seriously look into how things operate. I ain’t hatin but damn it man, your setup should be quakin and it’s just hummin. Turn your phase to 180 asap, turn gain down half way and drop lpf a fuzz. Also upgrade some power to that thing. You should be runnin nothing less that 1/0 ofc power n ground. I was ready to see what that thing was gonna do the way you got it set, and did exactly what I thought, not much. Should be against the law the have such a beautiful amp not tuned properly. I have the Cendo 8k so I know bro. It’s all about learning my dude. Seriously tho homie, tune your phase to 180 and the other shit I said if you really wanna wham. Also, slap sum cardboard behind your plate, it’d be different if your fenders and roof were shakin but if you just trying to get your license plate to buzz, smh, your good but damn it man. It’s upsetting to see this and that amp has so much potential but it’s being starved of it glory. Good luck 🤙🏻

Yeah I think most people use -3db. 40hz at -5 is a less aggressive way to set gain. Gives you more of a safety net. I didn't realize he was @ .5 ohms. Your probably right. @@ROBBG88 yeah I figured that's why you used -5 instead of -3. I also understand the lower db test tone is going to increase the gain level a bit. I completely understand what your saying. The one thing I would like to know tho. You said you clip at half volume with about 75% gain. Did you purposely set gain at half volume so you dont need to crank the radio up or am I not understanding something. We typically set gain at about 75% radio volume to keep us from going over a volume that would introduce clipping. I'm pretty sure its less stress on the amp also.
