Not the closest competitor. The Netherlands have van Dijk, De Vrij, Aké, De Ligt, Timber and Botman. As good as Brazilian defense is, it's not better than the Dutch.

This video is beautiful, obviously just a video about football but its gotten me so hyped. Its a different point of view video and that’s what i need to keep this hype going.

I'd probably give Spain an "honourable mention" in goalkeeper category (as you did with Germany and England). They definitely deserve it more than England does at least. When you consider that, after Unai Simon, De Gea and Kepa (the latter playing pretty well again after a couple of bad seasons) there is also David Sanchez and David Raya, and the lives of Vicente Guaita can't even get a cap (which just shows how good Spain are in goal) speaks volumes. I don't think you can make a case for more than three England goalies and none of them would be as good as the fourth or fifth choice Spanish goalie. Well, Pickford, if he has a good day, could maybe squeeze in third after Simon and De Gea if you were to combine the Spanish and English goalies.

Weverton is the second goalkeeper for Brazil, he started more games than Ederson and was called upon by Tite more often during the qualifiers. Europeans may not have that much familiarity with him because he was a late bloomer (and European scouts are pretty much child groomers at this point), but he's phenomenal.

Sorry alfie but choosing spain over Germany in midfield is a wild shout and in my opinion a very wrong one. Almost the entirety of spains starting midfield got tossed around by Kimmich alone twice in the champions league so far this season. Just mentioning Germany but never choosing them on occasion is fine for the right wing (sané, gnabry, Hofmann, etc) but they should have taken midfield over spain and GK over brazil given that Trapp and Ter Stegen are both better goalkeepers than Ederson.

Germany Goalkeeper line up is much better than Brazil one since the first two are on pretty much the same level and for the third keeper Germany wins by far. Trapp is a class keeper and was rumoured to compete with De Gea at ManUnited and Weverton is so mid that I dont even know where he plays.

Despite agreeing with Alfie in most cases, I must say both Spain picks are borderline stupid. The RW one is pretty obvious, both Brazil and France have way better players and depth than them. Asensio, Sarabia and Torres are all a bit of an outcast in big clubs so no clue why they were good in your eyes. Then, Germany has the best holding midfield, no cap. Goretzka, Kimmich and Gundogan are all world-class and backed with quality backup. Whilst Spain have lots of players, none of them are truly world-class now. If they go toe to toe, Germany would be clear winner, just like Bayern dominates Barca in UCL, which see the major midfielders from both nations there.

I understand England is everyone’s first thought for RB, but Morocco has Hakimi and Mazraoui, so I’m surprised you didn’t at least mention them.

GK: Germany, Right Back: England, Left Back: Portugal, Centre Back: Netherlands, Central Midfield: Brazil, Attacking Midfield: Germany: Left Wing: Brazil, Right Wing: France (if Mbappe plays there), Striker: France

Id still give portugal lb and count cancelo there as he is an option, as is dalot who played lb for ac milan

Maybe a random video request, but how about the rise of Raków Częstochowa in the Polish Ekstraklasa? With just a 5,500 capacity stadium, they’re currently quite far ahead of Poland’s bigger clubs with bigger fanbases and stadiums, plus my interest in Polish football has been piqued having spent 3 weeks in the country this autumn.

I actually wanted to ask for that, those guys won 2 polish cups and supercups and came 2nd in 2 last seasons of Ekstraklasa and seem to be absolutely the strongest this year (even tho i was rooting for Wisła Płock after their super strong start) but you can't overlook that their rise is insanely good for a club that played only 4 seasons of top flight before their recent promotion

You doing a great job, but it's about time you guys enquired enough to identify the likes of Thomas Partey as one of the best holding midfielders in the world who can do a pretty good job in the midfield of any world cup bound team. When you mention the likes of Kimmich, Partey should be amongst such honorable mentions as his performances merits the attribution. The fact that some players are not from Europe or South America doesn't mean the hard work and world class performances of such players should be overlooked. Most at times certain observations are too one-sided.

I love Rodri and Busquets (actually to be fair I’ve never seen IT in Busquets. The guy has always looked ridiculously slow and gangly to me. But I accept that I don’t know enough about soccer to see IT in him and I accept the opinions of those who know much more than I. The way some people talk about Busquets...)
