I love seikos...i know they are cheaper but a grand seiko is a fine watch. Im also big into omegas. I have a few rolexs they just cause problems ppl notice them.

My first Rolex just purchased this week was the new air-king. I love this watch. 🍷 coming from strictly buying gshocks, my last and most expensive watch purchased was the gwg-20001a5 … great gshock, forged carbon and crystal sapphire. But this air king, wow! Cheers to all the first time buyers !

@@iamkyleclimerword of advice brother, although a Rolex is a bit of a jump from the watches you’re thinking of, the Rolex will still preserve more value so you can enjoy some jewelry while having a better exit strategy, and affecting your net worth less. If you can still eat and provide for yourself after buying the Rolex, it’s a better deal!

My top choice for my "starter Rolex": - Casio Duro Marlin MDV-106 Dive Watch, in all 7 variants - Invicta Pro Diver Submariner homage in Green Dial Hulk (Seiko Automatic movement) - About 10 great various Casio Sport & Dress watches: Total cost: $750. Oh lookie, no need for the Rolex !

My advice for a 1st watch, buy something that holds it value......everyone regrets there 1st purchase 😂

Just picked up my first Rolex for 6900, 1 year old air king.

My first Rolex was a 6694 oyster date from the 60s paid 1200 out the door still have it and love it doesn’t get as much wear now that I’ve got my 16233 saving for a yellow gold day date now🙏

That is a great choices Charlie. I bought 3 rolexes over 30 years. They have over tripled in value, all date just gold white gold stainless. For my first rolex I got the 2016 air-king discontinued and has the nice green rolex and yellow crown on. 👌🏻

I would advise for a new Explorer or OP 36/41 as you can buy it for new at RRP. A ceramic submariner date is like almost twice the price.

I thought this would be helpful for me to decide between the Explorer and the oyster perpetual 41. D'oh!

Just got my first Rolex for $3100. Vintage Datejust ref 16000 on oyster bracelet in excellent shape for a 40 year old watch. Previous owner just had it serviced and it keeps excellent time losing only 1.5 seconds per day.

Explorer II Black dial is the only Rolex I’d ever consider.

I dont consider Date Justs dressy watches. They are as versatile as any to me.

I've got rolex and tiffany watches, a patek Philippe nautilus but day to day I wear casio and Oris, I think Oris are very underrated for what they are, just stay away from the Kermit edition 😂 unless you like that sort of thing

I agree. At these prices and for a first watch I would buy Omega. You can find some nice ones for 50 percent off retail for preowned and if you look around long enough you can get 60-65 off retail

Hello. My grandfather handed me his 2 rolex, he told me that he bought it years ago. I’m ready to sell it now. But i don’t know if it’s both authentic, any way i could contact you so you could check it yourself if it’s legit both. I’d like to sell them $3000 for both if proven authentic. I have the datejust and the sea-dweller.

16220. The new Rolex cases look horrible in my opinion. The Datejust in particular has lost an element of elegance with the broader lugs.

The good thing about buying a Rolex as your first big watch is that most of them are guaranteed to retain all their value (as long as you don’t get some odd color or two toned watch that sells poorly). I really want a Speedmaster but I refuse to spend $7k on it knowing it will lose half its value immediately. With omegas and such, I really recommend you buy something used. They depreciate to about 50% and then retain the value.

Stay away from Rolex. It’s a mass produced watch with nothing to back it other than great marketing. With far less money you can buy yourself a used Patek or Breguet and start off on the right foot. Don’t fall for the trap of fashion or at least don’t consider yourself a watch enthusiast
