I bought a Sinnis Terrain 125 three years ago to use as a lightweight commuter - a role it fulfilled admirably. In fact I enjoyed riding it so much I sold my larger bikes because I just wasn't using them anymore. It is designed as a true adventure bike from the ground up and the build quality is excellent. Lots of nice features for adventure riders such as the top mounted intake for the airbox so you are less likely to flood it when fording rivers and streams. If you do manage to get water in the airbox there is a drain by the monoshock. Speaking of the monoshock it's FULLY adjustable for preload, rebound, and damping. Fun Fact 1: If you are a novice rider, regardless of what bike you get, at some point you WILL drop it. (Oh yes, you will.) Because this bike comes with front and rear crash bars as standard it can survive such events with no major damage. Adventure bikes get dropped all the time in real life. Fun Fact 2: If you are looking for a 125 to pass your motorcycle test with a view to then getting something bigger/better/faster/dafter this is the bike to get. For many new riders the hardest parts of the practical test are those manoeuvres that are performed at s-l-o-w speeds. Good news! Low speed manoeuvres on this bike are super easy. Much easier than trying to do them on a sports bike. Modifications I made to my bike: As it comes the tool kit is located under the seat where it rubs/presses on the ECU. Much better to tuck the tool kit away in one of the bodywork voids to the side of the tail light. Fitted a Dimple magnetic sump plug. Umm... that's it. Didn't feel the need to alter or change anything else. I have no hesitation in recommending this bike. It is extremely robust and reliable. It can cruise all day at 50mph and scamper up and down the Pennine hills with ease. Did I mention that I ride every day in ALL weathers? P.S. ACF-50 is your friend ;-)

Cracking review and tips. Ive just bought a second hand one with 2000 miles on it. Changed the oil and have a new chain waiting to go on it. I've been told it worth taking the perpetrated metal plate that sits below the air filter out , so as to help the bike breath a little more easily. Not a huge difference, but I'm told it is noticeable. I'm coming off an old 2000 cg125 which is great fun, but a little small with the view to learning to ride a bigger bike in future. So I'm glad you think that would help me progress. 👍

@@charlesbarnett2724 Before making any unauthorised modifications it may be worth taking some time to consider that the people who designed and made it had access to more knowledge, resources, and money than any random stranger on the internet will ever see. All the components that are on your bike are there for a reason. Over 40 years of building and riding motorcycles has taught me that trying wring more power out of a 125 is a waste of time and money. You can certainly make it louder and less reliable but to go faster you really need something with a bigger engine. I hope that you get a great deal of pleasure from riding your 125 and that you are able to enjoy it for what it is.

Great video bud! Love that you included a 125cc machine in your roster of videos. They get forgotten so easily. My first bike was a Sachs XTC 125 Supersport in yellow with red brake callipers and a red rear spring. Until you started it, you could have mistaken it for a Ducati! I loved it. Since then, various bikes, all great fun, but that one was kind of special. Huge thumbs up for going full time on the channel. I wish you every success!

I traded my r1200gsa triple black for an r1250gsa on the 1st July, and I’m still trying to work out how two bikes can be the same yet miles apart in everything. Not a ball tickling sensation like the KTM’s, but it does everything and more and still leaves me with a massive smile across the old boat race. Stay safe my bearded fellow, enjoy those extra ponies and live you life.

I have had a Sinnis Scrambler for a year and a half. Great bike but a bit small (even for me at-5'7") so thinking of trading up to the Terrain. This video has helped me no end to see how well it copes. I am impressed. The trip Paul and Holly did on the Mongol Rally makes you realise just how capable and robust these little bikes are. Many thanks.

I get similar mpg from my NC700XA, usually around 180 - 90 before last bar flashes. I'm a bit lighter than you, but not too much. One thing I did notice on the Sinnis is there doesn't appear to be a vibes through the mirrors, a good plus point, especially for learner or newbie riders. Also nice to see some back lanes of Kent. I used to live just outside Lenham and cycled around many of the lanes between there and Tunbridge Wells. Keep the vids coming

Just been to look at one of these today - like you I'm a good weight and height, but looking at this for my wife and I to share until I do my full A license next year. Thought top speed even with someone out weight would be a wee little bit more, as I've seen the Hoodlum (also by Sinnis) do a decent speed. Nice bike to sit on and perfect weight for my missus to handle, and also with panniers and top box it's perfect for her to carry her PPE for work (mobile home care) so all in all you've helped me make up my mind as to a first joint bike for us both!

Loved this reveiw, being sensible about the bike and what it can do, and you really sounded like you had a glass. Keep it shiny side up.

Cheers man, aye absolutely, you’ve got to be realistic about the bike but it was genuinely a fun time 👍

Love the video and as a fellow scot I chuckled at the 11 reference. I think Gertrude would suit the chunky bavarian beemer.

Little bikes are lots of fun, because you pretty much ride them as hard and fast as possible all the time. Even though "full speed" isn't much, it still feels fun to know you're going as fast as possible all the time :)

I started on (and my gf on her cbt currently rides/has) a Honda XL125. Thing will happily do 60 and as long as you're not on a steep uphill, no problem to 70mph with me on it, and I weight around 95kg before I'm geared up. This bike looks nice enough and the luggage is a great option, but it did appear to be struggling rather a lot to get above 40mph. Will have to test ride a few when my son is due to get his first bike in a couple of years time... Defo put this on the list.

Yanno, keep getting tempted by small adventure bikes (yes I'm strong enough to lift a big GS but I'm lazy so do I really want to when I eventually drop it?) and I keep agreeing with you what it's a decent amount of bike for £2.5k. Just can I live with 125cc? As for 360 footage, it's such a pain in the arse getting stable footage! Gonna try again this weekend to get my setup right. Keep up the great work!

Really enjoyed the Sinnis review. I ride a GSXR 1000 and a GSX1400 so you think I'd be dismissing the Sinnis instantly but there is something inherently fun about riding small capacity bikes!

I've asked the kids and told them you've got a new tractor... Sophie has suggested Demeter, the Greek Goddess of the harvest. Layla has suggested Merida, Scottish Disney princess 👸 Cracking vid mate, that Sinnis is a bargain. You sounded very relaxed and "in the zone", you belong on 2 wheels. I like the over the shoulder footage of the 360 mate.

Just brought my son a sinnis Apache, after he did his CBT I’d heard horror story’s about build quality, it’s not terrible for a budget bike and you get a lot for your money compared to what you would pay for the equivalent European or Japanese bike, as an entry point into motorcycles it a decent thing. Cracking review.
