@@archnemesis8340 actually a bunch of writers (Stephen King for one) never envision an ending for their stories. They begin with a general idea and go from there. It's really not all that uncommon. I'm sure he had a general idea, but it was too foggy to truly put into words or panels. I guess what I meant to say was that he certainly meant to end it, but never would due to his frequent and lengthy hiatuses. Perhaps he discovered that he honestly didn't know how to end it, George RR Martin is in a similar position right now with his ASOIAF novels. Also upon his passing his colleagues didn't find any manuscripts for further issues.

@Frax While the idea of evil has control over things, the things that happen are because of the people choosing it. Flora makes this point clear. Griffith wanted to sacrifice it's not like he was forced to do it. Not directly atleast, Godhand did exploit his weakened state, but as shown by the count you can refuse. The reason he didn't is because his dream was more important to him.

I think what blows my mind most about this is that the intentionally primitive chad/virgin template gets this insane amount of effort put into it and in the process hits the same uncanny territory as the earliest human civilization art, where everything was crude but had 1000 hours poured into it. Day 107 watching this video... Morning around here came by and I rushed to read 364. It was sudden and perfect, even though my experience reading it first time wasn't the best one. Moving on, the chapter was full of sweet moments, the first segment giving a small participation of the party and thr debunking of Schierke's supposition, that we honestly knew that wasn't true at all lol. Next, them all together, doing everyday things, and you feel sad for Guts, the chapter even parallels with when Casca was away from him, training both for necessity and for escapism, also showing that Guts will depend on the armor from now on. Then, the moony boy appears again and cheers Guts a bit, playing knights with little sticks. Then, the days come and go until the chapter's ending. They're all there. Griffith, Guts and Casca. Seeing each other again since the hill of the swords. The second hand emotion hits Griffith, provoking a single teardrop, like the morning dew. It was so beautiful, even without music like I used to use to read during my first time, I felt it hard. I teared up as well... I hope Kentarou Miura his rest For the Studio Gaga, their best And for everyone involved, from the production to the embracing community, a real thank you, for everything, and a good day!

He was a good friend, not even thinking twice to save Guts even if it costed him his life. Just badly broken from a year of torture, thought Guts betrayed him first, witnessed all his dignity robbed from him, and driven crazy to regain what he had lost. And now from latest chapter, it seems just Griffith wants warmth and love.

@@AsclepiusHoe Griffith is a great character but he has never been a good friend imho, he is a narcisistic psycho. Guts was like a possession to him and in golden age he clearly states that he cant call friends people who follow other peoples dream, implying that he dont consider Guts, Casca and the band of the hawk as his equals. When Guts heard this he decided to leave to pursue his own goal in life and to gain Griffith's respect. But Griffith, destroyed by his most precious "possession" defeating him and leaving him, wants to reassure his control over things by fucking Charlotte, thus ruining his life.

So yeah I like to think he at least thought of him as a friend or something close to that because he wasn't your regular run-of-the-mill man too.

I just keep coming back to this video for some reason, it keeps getting recommended to me and I just keep clicking it.

Listening to it again and really thinking about the journey got me to tear up. Guts had no direction, found a family, had it all taken away, and when he finally found his way out of the rage towards Griffith and chose to protect Casca, he found a family once again. Casca's been taken, and Guts is at his lowest low. But he still has that family, his forces, and they will support him because they believe in him.

Can we all appreciate how legitimately good this is? Because seriously. If the 'wasure wa shinai' bits didn't have the pepe face on the behelit, they would probably give me chills, and they still kind of do. The memes in this are brilliant, but the transition from the eclipse to the hill of swords is a masterpiece homage to Berserk, and the feelings that that transition gives me, what it represents, is just amazing. This is just straight up awesome, and one of the best things the Berserk fandom has produced.
