starwarsfan117​ It's not the boat itself, but rather the release schedule during the boat Arc. There was like a 5 year stretch where almost nothing came out.  Right off the heels of the Kushan War Arc, which has some of the biggest plot moments since the Eclipse at the end of the Golden Age.

To be honest, his death is much more tragic for a young author like me, I am only 14 and I got so inspired by berserk and right now when I found out Kentaro had died, it feels like losing a part of my soul It feels like losing my uncle or my mentor. As a tribute to him, I will work way harder on my book to show my ultimate respect to Sensei Miura.

He defined video games as a whole. Without Berserk there's no Dark Souls, no Monster Hunter, HUGE swaths of Final Fantasy cease to exist. A friend of mine called him the greatest mangaka of all time and I can't say I disagree. The work he put out and the sheer TALENT he had were just astounding. The world is lesser for his loss.

Considering the cause of his death and the anecdotes those who have worked with, in all likelihood the thing that killed him was his dedication to his work. So if you don't want others to feel this pain, make sure you can make it far enough to deliver what you want.

@@delta2372 Actually, we dont now that yet... and even if they DO stop production, lets look at the score card: Guts has his comrades again, Casca is back, and they pretty much live in utopia at Elfheim while Griffith is being a twat and ripping the world apart... Is it the ending we hoped for where Guts turned Griffith into a Dragonslayer-kabob? No, but I'd say the way to measure this is, for the moment, Guts is happy, and Griffith is practically empty, so who really won?

Just graduated from Boot camp yesterday. This song is what kept me going through the last miles of the PFT. Or the long hikes through foggy hell. Or the chamber of tear gas. Everywhere I went, I had a print of Guts on me. Everywhere. He is a true inspiration

Guts: that anime protagonist that you simultaneously want to run up to and meet personally and flee from like a man in an expensive suit in a teppenyaki restaurant, and put as many doors, walls, and preferably continents between yourself and his sword as possible.

His music defines Berserk and the deepness of it (Kentaro said in an interview he insisted on having him as a Sound producer for the 1997 anime because he said " I was listening to his music while drawing some volumes of Berserk and I felt he needed to be assosiated with Berserk someday" So yea this clearly made Kentaro very Happy ! May he rest in peace
