This channel is throwing up fights that I used to go on dodgy sites to see on a daily basis - thankyou! Also - BHop was a genius in the ring, barely lost to Calzaghe the year before and then comes back the next year and does this at the age of 43.

Back in the day I used to secretly hate Hopkins because he destroyed Tito Trinidad so I was salty 😂 he was always supposed to get old and get beaten to “pass the torch” but he would end up winning.

One of Hopkins best performances! The point taken for rabbit punches was appropriate. This was not the Pavlik that fought Taylor.

I’ll always remember the staredown Hopkins did at the end towards the reporters who wrote him off. Pavlik did say he was sick for this fight, but also gave props and said Hopkins is a brilliant boxer and still could’ve been him that night, he just wished he produced a better showing.

@@tom11zz884 I’m a B-Hop fan lol. But Pavlik didn’t make this excuse after the fight, this was on a Joe Rogan podcast after the fact. If you’re fighter then you know stuff happens. Most important thing, Pavlik said him being healthy might’ve not changed the outcome of him losing. No need to get uptight lol

@@SOLE_II_SOUL Not being uptight. Just don't like when excuses are thrown out there to try to dimmish a great performance on Hopkins part. I think Hopkins beats Pavlik 9 out of 10 times due to Hopkins ring smarts.

Pavlik's appearance on rogan is well worth a listen, he's real and honest about it as well as his own shortcomings and doesnt make excuses

Pavlik didn't stand a chance. Hopkins controlled damn near every second of the fight sheerly through being superior in his footwork.

Hopkins was like 44 or 45 years old in this fight beating a young bull in Pavlik. Infact, beat him so convincingly, that Pavlik was never the same fighter again.

This fight was a perfect example of a true vet vs a pure rookie... Hopkins is just way too crafty of a fighter ..he always seems to possess a defensive outlet for every occasion when it comes to boxing... A true champion 🏆

Binge watched some Pacquiao fights before watching this and compared to those,this one looks like slow motion haha

He was talking about the executioner hood Hopkins wears during his ring walk. He wore the same hood on his head for the Trinidad fight.

@Duel1982 pavlik landed the cleaner shots. Outmaneuvered the older fighter. Much better ring generalship and was able to download data early on. Maybe try watching the fight in slow motion with the sound off.

@@hughwardjackson4776 none of the things you said happened. Hopkins unequivocally landed the cleaner, flusher shots throughout the fight. Hopkins ring general ship was on full display as he masterfully outmanoeuvred and turned Pavlik all night. Pavlik s aggression was not effective. Nor was his defense. He never controlled the center, or cut the ring. He was hopelessly outclassed. The fight wasn't close. Or competitive. Hopkins landed the left hook at will. Battered Kelly for all of the championship rounds and left his face a mess. There is no plausible way you could score it for Kelly. Even a draw would have been atrocious scoring.

they started doing what they do now, manufacturing champs - fighting for a vacant belt, then having some aged vet who used to be champ fight for another vacant belt - win, then they match him up knowing the other dude was spent BUT pavlik, legit beat Jermaine Taylor, who was legit - but coldn't fight backing up or in the clinch - whih was a perfect match for Pavlik style

White guys were so excited to see Pavlik knock out Hopkins. White guys were clinically depressed after the fight. 😂😂😂

Blak guys were so excited to see Hopkins beat Calzache, Kovalev and Smith. But he got beat up each time, even punched out of his shoes out of the ring. Blak guys were clinically depressed after those nights!!!
